Changing ZuluTrade opened position’s takeprofit point

Since the start of trading with ZuluTrade free trading signal providers I got some issues regarding signal provider’s trading setting configuration.

By default, if you set TakeProfit point (it is named Limit in the system) or StopLoss point (it is named Stop in the system) the opened position would be closed when the point would be hit unless signal provider would set Limit or Stop value safer than your points (the minimum value accepted is 15, because lower value may not be accepted by your chosen broker).

At the start, I decided to set the Limit point. But it was a mistake (I think), because signal provider knows better when the opened positions should be closed whether it is in profit or in loss.

And it was true - I closed 3 position taking 15 pips profit. After a while, I checked the signal provider’s performance and saw that every trade was closed in about 100 pips profit. I can say, I lost..

I removed the limit. Later on, I checked my account and noticed that there was few more trades closed from the time I removed the Limit value. I decided to consult with Zulutrade customer support (they are very helpful and every issue is solved very fast).

Here is the conversation:

Pablo: Hello , how can I assist you today ?

你: I have a question regarding position close

你: today I had a position opened by shorttrade and later on it was closed with profit in 15 pips, but then I viewed his profile and noticed that he closed that position few hours later with profit in 90 pips.

你: how can it be ?

Pablo: you have any limit set in your account ?

你: In the morning I set a take profit limit to 15, but then I had removed that limitation before the position was lcosed

你: I don’w remember if the limit was set prior opening the position

你: maybe it opened with take profit point to 15 pips?

Pablo: you are talking about the last trade ?

你: yes

Pablo: ok let me check

你: ok

Pablo: you set a limit for your provider

Pablo: 15 pips that’s why the trade close in 15 pips

你: is there a compensation policy for such a case? cause in this case every user could have a loss

Pablo: please select the advanced settings

Pablo: no your trade close properly

Pablo: according your settings

你: I know that it was closed properly, but what if it would not be closed ?

Pablo: we can discuss a refund

Pablo: in case of loss

你: would it be full loss or part of the loss refunded ?

你: another question - I removed the take profit limit prior the position was closed. So the take profit limit was not removed from the position on broker’s side. I guess I could only set a new take profit point for the opened position, how I could do that ?

Pablo: the trade will get closed by the signal of your provider

你: but if had set the limit in advanced settings, how I could change it ?

Pablo: if no trade open

Pablo: all the next trade will be without limit

My FAP TURBO moved to Alpari UK

Almost month ago I started looking for a new broker for my FAP TURBO robot. I was considering between FXCM, Alpari UK and Forex.com. Therefore, I created a pool and my readers voted:

I would love to have account on FXCM because of their low spreads, but, unfortunately, they do not allow to open mini accounts on MetaTrader4 platform and you can not open demo account, too.

Therefore I choose Alpari UK. I have ran their demo account with initial $10.000 deposit and within month it raised the account to $12.244. I think it is very good to get 23% return in one month..

I must admit that it was much better than the demo account on Forex.com broker. It failed - I opened with $10.000 deposit and it lost about 28% - now it is $7.324.

If I had real accounts the difference would feel in 50% of initial deposit. That’s huge in just one month.

Besides, I ran these Demos with 15% LRR on all 4 pairs, just Alpari UK did not trade GBPCHF because the spread was to wide at night - 10 pips.

I must say, that Demo account on FastBrokersFX accumulated similar results as Alpari UK, only you must have $10.000 to open Professional account.

So, having such results I had no doubts where should I send my wire transfer - to Alpari UK (I have seen Donnaforex’s trading stats on them, too).

I sent them my 1000 EUR (I prefer EUR instead of USD, because my national currency LTL is strictly tied with EUR) and got 50 as a credit for my account, too.

I did it few weeks ago, and now I have almost 10% gross of my account. I love it

NordMarkets - not the Best ECN Broker for FAPTURBO

Yesterday I had a phone call with NordMarkets manager Daniel, because this week I have opened a DEMO account to test what spreads they can offer in the time period when FAP TURBO trades.

There was an option to open DEMO Mini account, but then you would have fixed spreads. Therefore, I opened ECN DEMO account to check if any trader could get good spreads directly without dealing desk. And I was disappointed the first minute I have loaded it…

I noticed that it has 1.8 to 5 pips higher spreads on EURCHF and EURGBP than other brokers on DEMO accounts like Forex.com, FastBrokersFX (also known as FastFX) and FXCM (FXCM does not offer Metatrader4 DEMO account, therefore I have installed their Trading Station).

But they had lower spreads on GBPCHF (7 to 11 pips) and USDCAD (4 to 8 pips). Of course, these two pairs are not recommended to trade, but if you want to have more adrenaline, you can start trading them :D.

Let’s get back to the phone call, it took much longer than the calls I had with Forex.com, FastFX or FXCM managers. And the main information I got:

NordMarkets have 14 liquidation sources (like UBS, some other banks and institutionals);
ECN DEMO account is real mirror of the LIVE account having the same tight spreads (manager told, that many other brokers offer lower spreads on DEMO accounts than it is really on LIVE accounts);
spreads are higher due to abnormal situation in Forex market, cause volatility is much higher and the liquidity is not enough (the same problem most of the FAP TURBO users had or still are having with FXPRO or IBFX brokers), and it was way lower before December - it should get back to low spreads when the markets will still down;
ECN account is available only from $10.000 (I noticed him that Live support told me that I could open account with minimum $2000 deposit, but then I would have lower leverage, check the chat with NordMarkets FXoperator. But the manager answered, that he has not such instructions about LIVE ECN account minimum deposit and he will clear this thing in email he will send me later).

It is always good to talk to someone live about the service they provide, only you should have some questions to ask, not only to listen to the manager’s promotion.

In overall, NordMarkets is not an option to the best broker list for FAP TURBO Forex trading robot.

Update: I had another call with Daniel, and he cleared, that the lowest deposit for ECN is $6000, but then you would get leverage 1:50. And this option is available only in special occasions.

I am still looking for the best broker for FAPTURBO money making Forex robot to make a list of them and will announce it shortly. So if you still are not connected with me, you can start it now. Few minutes ago I got a letter from FAP Turbo team announcing that they have found new ECN broker FXCBS and have agreed that FAP TURBO users could use it.

The only cons is - $10.000 initial deposit to open trading account. That is too much for most of the FAP TURBO users, but they are negotiating with FXCBS to allow lower minimum deposit.

Will NordMarkets be the First ECN Broker for Fap Turbo?

Today I have closed my FAP TURBO account on Admiral Markets broker due to twice increased spreads on EURGBP and GBPCHF currency pairs, what left me trading only EURCHF. Therefore I have been looking for a new broker and my list was very short:

FXCM
Forex.com

Currently I use Forex.com DEMO account, and it gained $700 in 2 days from $10,000 account trading EURCHF, EURGBP, GBPCHF with LRR = 5 and EURUSD with TakeProfit 50, StopLoss 0 and TrailingStop 5. It is awesome results, but…

The spreads are not fixed and yesterday I saw spread on EURGBP varying in the range of 5 to 8, EURCHF - 5-8 and GBPCHF in 8-13 (still I have not got any loss). These spreads are not as much profitable as it could be with lower spreads.

I would love to try FXCM, but they do not offer DEMO accounts and I had noticed many complaints about offquotes (of course, this can be solved by having Forex VPS service).. Only pros I see on them are:

lower spreads (but still varying very heavy on Fap Turbo trading hours);
“The Aslan Group” promotion which offers 0,4 pips rebate on one traded lot (a little compensation if you got losser trades).

So, when I read today FAP TURBO forum about NordMarkets I decided to try them out. They offer Metatrader4 ECN account from $10,000 and MetaTrader4 Mini account from $1000. I would love to open ECN account cause then I could have very low spreads on our beloved currency pairs, but the starting price is way too high.

Therefore I checked Mini account information and I was dissapointed, cause you could trade only EURGBP pair (only this pair’s spread is shown). So, I contacted NordMarkets LIVE support and we chated for a while.

And I have great news!!!

Everyone can open ECN account with only $2000 initial deposit. Only one cons - you will get 50X or 75X leverage and the minimum trade size is 0.4 lot. Quite good option! Here is all information from the chat with NordMarkets operator.

New FAP TURBO Forex Trading Robot Versions Available

Today I got a letter from FAPTURBO team.

The main topic of the letter - new version of FAP TURBO Forex trading robot. From now on, FAP TURBO team offers two versions of the robot:

Standard version (v37Standard) with default FAP TURBO trading settings for Forex and FAP TURBO newbies;
Professional version (v45Pro) with customizable FAP TURBO trading settings for advanced users who use automatic trading robot and want to tweak it, to have better results (remember, tweaking can lead to worse results, too).

I must note, that 37Standard and 45Pro versions have the same algorithm and would get the same results with default robot trading settings.

Still we can trade with the old version till 23 of March, from that date FAP TURBO robot version 36 will not work and will not open any new trading positions or close the open ones. So be aware - change FAP TURBO robot to new version till the robot starts his job on the 23 of March!

Be aware that you will not need to activate the new version - the old key will be valid.

It’s a pitty for me, cause I am going to change my broker from Admiral Markets to other one (thinking of Forex.com or FXCM), cause the spread for GBCHF and EURGBP was incresed twice as it was before, therefore now it is trading only EURCHF. So, I though I would use this time to change my broker and will not need to contact FAP TURBO support (we know how fast it is :)) for reseting my KEY.

I have opened a DEMO account on FXCM and I was amazed how many profitable trades it made within one night on EURGBP pair and some on EURCHF and GBPCHF. I thin I will open standard account next week on them, cause I heard many complains about FXCM with offquotes. Also FXCM doesn’t offer demo account and they offer MetaTrader accounts only because the demand of the users.

Fapturbo is working great! The recently added account that is published live on the main page has already doubled.

We are still in the process of establishing relations with good brokers that have low spreads on the currencies fapturbo trades.

NEW VERSION RELEASE

New versions were released today: Versions 37Standard and 45Pro.
Version 37 is for traders new to forex or FAPTurbo, Version 45Pro is for advanced
users with many adjustable settings that inexperienced users should not alter.
Both versions are THE SAME in results (using default settings) and algorithm. If you are uncertain which version to use you should use the standard version- version37 and we strongly recommend you use default settings to achieve the best results.

There are no major changes to report in the new versions, we do not alter what is already working well. We did fix a few minor bugs which were reported to us, for example now you can set a decimal MaxSpread spread value- even in the standard version. Also a few bugs in the “send email” feature were fixed.

Both versons will work fine on Metatrader build 220 and the new upgrade, build 221.

THERE IS NO NEED TO RUSH!

Old versions are licensed untill 23 March, so you have nearly a week to change them.

ACTIVATION TROUBLES?
No way. The keys will remain the same!

HOW TO CHANGE OLD VERSION WITH THE NEW ONE?

1. Close down Metatrader. IMPORTANT: Make sure you do not have any open trades when you do this- any trades which are open when you close metatrader are no longer being managed by FAPTurbo. (if you have longterm trades open you can safely do this at a weekend when the broker is closed).
2. Download and install the new version exactly the same way as you have done with prior versions. It is not necessary to delete old versions. Refer to the userguide on how to do this. If you install the PRO version- note that it is available as a manual download only. (Pro users also note that you will need to either install version 37 also, or just the .dll file from version 37 since this file is also needed by the PRO version 45 so that you can activate properly).

3. Open up metatrader again. You should now see the new version in your “experts” list.

4. On the chart you would like to update with a new version, right click, select “expert advisors” and then select “remove”. This removes the old version from the chart. Ensure you write down/save any settings before doing this.

5. Now just drag across the new version onto your chart as you did previously with other versions. Enter in all your settings as before, including the activation key. If you haven’t written down your key number you can obtain it by going to the members download page where it is stored for you. Click “ok”.

This should complete the changeover between versions! You will know you have done it correctly if: (1) the smiley face is showing, (2) the information appears on the left of the charts (will not happen on a weekend), and (3) you see messages in your “journal” and “experts” tab saying “loaded successfully” and “initiated”.

If you do have longterm trades open at this time do not worry- FAPTurbo will continue to manage these trades even after the license expires, it will just not be able to open new trades. Just wait for the trades to close out and then when you have no open trades switch over to the new version. Note: FAPTurbo will NOT take over management of current open trades when you change versions, this is why you must wait for the old trades to finish first.

updating the market watch time to reflect Daylight savings time, and GMToffset
will move forward one hour for these brokers.
For those customers who trade short term strategy we recommend you
review your GMT offset settings to ensure a smooth
transition. Some brokers will have changed their GMToffset today, other brokers may alter their offsets on 29th March, so you should check your GMToffset both now and also at the end of the month for any changes.

If there is any change, simply adjust the GMT offset according to your broker’s market watch.
REMEMBER: If Marketwatch is 3 hours AHEAD of GMT time then your GMToffset is 3. If marketwatch time is BEHIND GMT then your offset would be -3.

On the beginning of February second FAP TURBO mentoring meeting was held at http://fapturbomeeting.com. Almost 1000 users were connected to this e-seminar. There were a lot of questions. So I did my best to make it more easy for you to read. Here is the February Q&A set.

Version #44Pro has a default Slippage setting of 6 (compared to 2 for Version #36). How can this be successful if TakeProfit is also 6?

In the old version slippage was actually set to be spread + slippage setting, in version 44, it is set to slippage only.

MAXSPREAD setting on EUR/GBP. This is the most popular scalping pair. Lately FAP Turbo has been struggling to trade this pair with FXPro Live as miraculously the spread widens to 5.1 to 7?

You can increase your MaxSpread setting, but to increase it also increases risk, so you need to be careful. We would advise you instead to wait for spreads to reduce or to find an alternate broker. Try to keep MaxSpread value for EURGBP for 5-6 (Take profit is 6 for this pair).

I notice that the account that is running on FXPro is a small account but doing well. Can we have the settings? I see lot size is increased. What else?

We use Default settings. I placed onetrade=1 (true). The risk is a bit high for such small account. I recommend using safer trading plan.

I compare 36 and 44 version today and for now 36 looks better?

They are simply THE SAME the core is the same. No idea how you compared and what do you mean. We have to note that the GMT offset is set to 0 on version 44, but to 1 on version 36, so this may cause discrepancies- please check you have GMT offset correct. Just set 36 and 44 on demo account but this is just one day so says nothing actually

Is it worse to set spread to 6? The spread increases during the trade anyway……open at 5 closes at 7…

6 is okay but just be aware it is more risky than 5, and you certainly don’t really want to go any higher

If I close out one of the Fapturbo trades manually will jeopardize the system making future trades?

Yes, it could confuse FAPTurbo and the robot may think it still has an open trade so not place any further trades. Better not to mess up the system with manual trades. Let the robot work. No, if the trade is close fapturbo will not think “it is opened”. However as Uli said better not to perform any manual trading on that account.

Any news about relationships with brokers or ECN version of fapturbo?

We were working with ATC ECN broker however they are changing the mother company so they don’t accept new clients now. We are in the process of establishing relations with 4 other brokers now.

There seems to be a lot of tweak of the robot going on… what about the FapTurbo Default settings… will they make great pips?

YES!

Does 44 have the same defaults as 36 but includes more tweaks?

Just make sure you have GMT offset correct. GMToffset is different in v. 44. It is set at 0 instead of 1- make sure you have it correct for your broker. Otherwise it is identical, just more control over settings

My FT entered 2 trades in the EURUSD only one hour apart on Feb 3. Each trade was a buy only 16 pips apart. Both trades are still active (and losing). In the meantime I may be missing better opportune?

We have to complete the trades that we do have open before we can move on to looking for the next opportunity– please just allow FAPTurbo to do its thing.

Guys, what brokers do you use on live accounts?

We use FxPro, Fxcm, FXDD, IBFX, Forex com etc. We have many accounts. Also Alpari again.

How will LLR set to 10, impact on leverage at 200:1 compared to 100:1

It will have no impact, LRR is calculated based on 100:1 leverage regardless of what leverage your account actually has.

No trades for days now - spreads too wide. Need a GENUINE trading broker - not bucket shops. When can we expect to see an interface to Interactive Brokers? Which broker is good. I cannot find any brokers to open a live account. Which brokers should I use?

All of the brokers mentioned above by Mike do get trades, although sometimes MaxSpread may block some. Check out fapturbo forum “Brokers” section - you can find a lot of brokers’ discussions there. There is no such thing as “ideal broker” .

Can we use version 44 on other currency pairs outside of the ones currently utilized by version 36?

No, we did not find any other currencies that can trade this method.

Will fapturbo work with a broker who has an MT4 bridge to an ECN, like Varengold in Germany ? This means spreads are fluctuating all the time .

Fapturbo works fine even if spreads are not fixed.

What if I set slippage in 44 on 2 as it is in 36 version?

That will be fine on most occasions, but in fast moving markets you may not get your trade opened/closed.

Any problem with activation code switching from 36 to 44?

The activation key is SAME for both versions if you trade same account .

Do you guys, the developers, use the standard strategy(not scalper) on the eur/usd pair, and do you have some settings you recommend?

Yes, we use it with default settings. However we recommend using it only if you have large account because it can have long DD. For example 10K and above for 0.1 lot.

Is the FAPturbo crew going to use feedback from v44 users for future enhancements?

Yes we always read and follow your ideas and suggestions. Post that on forum please

What measure(s) of volatility can we use to decide whether or not to trade a particular pair on a particular day?

FAPTurbo is good at deciding whether or not to trade and measures volatility itself by simpleheightfilter measures volatility.

What is minimum account size to be effective FXCM require $5000 minimum to use MetaTrader 4 ?

FXCM plans to decrease min. deposit in future

How can you tell how many pips a trade wins? I see how many dollars, but what about pips?

You can be effective even with a very small account, around $100, as long as you can trade microlots (0.01 lots or 0.1 mini lots). Take profit for eurgbp is 6 pips. Look at the difference between the entry and exit prices, e.g.:

1.2450 entry and 1.2460 exit is 10 pips

If you have a 5th decimal place you must divide your answer by 10

e.g. 1.24500 and 1.24600 = 100- divide by 10 gives 10 pips

Is it better to open a completely separate account then for Fapturbo to run on, instead of just having it run on its own chart within my current account which I use for manual trades?

It would probably be better yes, although you can do both side by side.

What must I do when I switched the broker?

You need to email support@fapturbo.com and let them have your clickbank receipt details along with proof of closing your old account. Send the proof that you closed account with old broker and opened the new one. Then the support will verify that and reset your key.

As a beginning user of Fapturbo, besides changing the GMT offset, is it best to keep all the settings in default until I learn more about Forex trading?

Yes, as tempting as it is to change settings, default really is best!! I use defaults on my own account at the moment, I just alter risk if I want to risk more (or less). You should also set the proper risk level. Set LotRiskReductor to 2-3 if you are a newbie. Follow safe trading plan. So you will be on the safe side. One thing people need to be aware of also, is that if your account is very small, and the lot sizes calculated by FAPTurbo are too small for your broker to accept, it will default to your brokers minimum lot sizes.

I am going to open a live account with $500. I have been trading a demo account using LRR for eur/gbp of 30 and eur/chf 20. Are these settings ok for moderate risk?

That sounds like “high risk” to me.

Fapturbo stealth? Not only the tp and sl?

Stealth Mode protects you from cheating on the broker side. Using the stealth mode the take profit and stop loss values are not displayed to broker. Instead fapturbo places larger (fake) values. They are randomized around 120-150 pips.

Alpari says they are ok with scalping and expert advisors?

Yes, we use Alpari again too.

I’m with FXCM, and I compare my trades with Yours. Why are they not the same?

Trading results could differ in different brokers and even inside one broker. That is normal. Don’t forget about the offquotes, disconnections and the random spacer other things that make results bit different.

I’m totally new here, still waiting for my brokerage account to open live (Forex Meta), but wondering, does Fapturbo invest the full balance in each trade, or just a percentage?

You should risk 2-3% of your capital in one trade.

Please clarify the V44 “Slippage” setting. Is it “Max. Spread” PLUS “Slippage”?…. e.g. on EUR/GBP … (Max Spread=5) + (Slippage = 2) = 7 as the “Slippage setting?

Slippage setting is purely slippage, not MaxSpread + slippage– this only applied to v.36.

As a beginner with Fapturbo, starting with a relatively small amount of money, is it best to keep all of the default settings using scalping besides changing the GMT offset?

Yes, as we replied before use defaults and set low risk. Yes defaults are good - I would advise you to watch a demo account for a few days until you feel comfortable with it.

Can I have 36 and 44 running side by side?

You can trade both but set different magic number.

How dangerous (as in preventing FT from working) is it to modify a setting (e.g.”LRR” or (”Allow Live Trading” during a session? (But NOT during an open trade.)

You can modify a setting during an open trading session, just not during a trade. If you disable “Allow live trading” during session - that is the same as you remove EA from the chart

What parameters of a trade are “hidden” when using “stealth” mode?

Stoploss and TakeProfit.

What are you doing to avoid the collapse of every fapturbo owner making the same order on same time?

Trades are not placed at identical moments in time- they are spaced out by a randomizer to avoid overloading broker servers. We have a random spacer built inside fapturbo that spaces the clients and avoids the situation when too many people have same trade.

Could you please explain what slippage is? I read about people changing their settings for that on FXCM in the forum and it helped reduce offquotes? Could you explain that and if we need to adjust any?

That is slippage value, slippage is the difference between the price you ‘click’ on (or FAPTurbo clicks on) and the price you actually get the order filled at. Also fapturbo now retries to close trade even if it gets offquotes.

The suggestion that the FAPT crew start a brokerage has been posted to the forum…thoughts?

We are still in process of establishing relations with liquidity providers and metaquotes.

Apologies for the repeat Donna, but you’ve said V44 Slippage is purely Slippage. But V44 Slippage is at 6 … and V44 TakeProfit is also at 6. How can this work???

You can decrease the slippage setting if you wish, the parameter has been put there to allow more experienced FAPTurbo users to alter if they wish. Just because slippage is set to 6 does not mean you will get slipped 6 pips or if you do it can also go in your favour .

MaxSpread: if FAPTURBO enters a EUR/GBP trade at 5 point spread and then by the time it closes the broker spread has widened to 6 (assuming I alter MaxSpread to allow 6) will my profit be the 6 pips?

FAPT closes according to the pips profit.

Is to double an account a month with increasing the lots at eur/gbp ok?

To achieve doubling your account in one month you are going to have to use high risk. Please carefully consider your risk levels before using a high risk setting.

Is this “chat” going to be a regular thing? At least bi-weekly? This is a great help.

Why do you guys say 2-3 percent for risk, and Charles says 20 as a “conservative” setting? those numbers are very far apart from each other.

You must set risk according to what YOU can deal with– what is conservative to one person is not conservative to another. You need to ask yourself how much you would be prepared to lose on one bad trade. For newbie 2-3 % is the best. For me 20 is conservative as I sometimes use 40 and 60. You should choose the risk that fits your needs. With 2-3% you are safe and cant blow away the deposit in one trade. You will not lose your account trading LRR 3. With crazy risk you can double your account in a week or blow away in one trade. That is up to you to decide your risk level. But I STRONGLY recommend sticking with SAFE TRADING LEVEL!

I believe that you change your risk level by changing the LRR. Is this correct?

Yes (LRR = lotsriskreductor), but money management must be set to TRUE

IBFX are looking to add liquidity providers which should eventually reduce the spread problem there.

I heard of it too. sounds good.

What are the results if you change it to trade around the clock instead of just the European market?

The results are ugly. That is common mistake, it’s not recommended. Fapturbo is designed to trade low Asian session, if you run it on a crazy market during day time you will lose.

Give it a go on a demo account if you’d like to see.

However if you are a PRO you can add or deduct one hour before or after the traditional session and Experiment.

Is the price for FAP Turbo ever actually going to go up? It seems like the more people that buy it, the more brokers make it hard on traders.

The price will not change the situation as it will only increase the number of pirate-sales. Brokers are adding new liquidity providers and most of them are happy to see new fapturbo clients. Believe me - we spoke nearly to all top brokers and 90% of them are happy with fapturbo trading.

Also many people are trading on demo only and will never go live (no money, no time, forex is too risky for me etc) so there is no problem here. Also fapturbo has a built-in spacer that spaces the traders and randomizes the order time during few milliseconds to avoid large number of people making same trade same time.

No we are not interested in relations to brokers that do not welcome winners.

Save me the trouble and tell me the start/end times for FXDD? Please.

Use default settings of Fapturbo 36. GTM offset = 2 for FXDD (forexmeta).

If it’s so important to trade only during the Asian market, then why not put those start/end times in the EA as the default settings?

You can check out fxdd xtreme for example with lower spreads if you don’t want to change broker.

FAPTurbo has volatility filters (simpleheightfilter) to prevent trading when the market makes large moves. It has TREND FILTER too.

You need to have a larger account to run long-term strategy. It has a 500 pip stoploss, which is a $500 loss at 0.1 standard lots .

FAP TURBO Settings to Close Trade After It Breaks Even

Everyone who has FAP TURBO autopilot Forex day trading robot noticed that FAP TURBO expert adviser will start a trade with EURGBP or EURCHF currency pair, usually buy position, and it will continue to go opposite to position’s direction. It usually looks like a big loss, but after some time it rebounds and goes up. And right before the position break even, FAP TURBO EA will close the position with a loss of 4 pips. After the position is closed, it continues to go up and then makes a gain of 25-30 pips.

If FAP TURBO EA would not close the position before it breaks even, we could make a profit and we will not have a loss…

But if the position will drop we could get a bigger loss. Therefore, FAP TURBO autopilot Forex day trading robot was designed to trade more safely.

FAP TURBO has CustomLevel setting which indicates when the trade should be closed. As one of the best FAP TURBO forum member donnaforex explained, it works in this way:

CustomLevel setting turns on the different levels for taking profit (or loss). Using CustomLevel, FAPTurbo begins reducing its profit target after 1 hour. By the time almost 3 hours have passed, FAPTurbo looks to exit at breakeven, and eventually, by 4 hours into a trade, FAPTurbo will look to exit at -4 pips. Either that or the stoploss, whichever gets hit first.

So if our trade is open for more than 4 hours - it will definitely close the position with a loss. Question is - if it will be -4 pips or the default stoploss limit:

-112 pips on EURGBP;
-53 pips on EURCHF;
-58 pips on USDCAD;
-75 pips on GBPCH.

So what could we do, if we want to change it and let FAP TURBO to close the trade after it gets back to profit, not at -4 pips point?

We can turn CustomLevel setting to false. And from that time, FAP TURBO would work as we would expect it to run:

FAP TURBO will close the trade for EURGBP at either 6 pips profit or 112 pips loss, and at no other point. (allow for slippage though, slippage being movement in the market which occurs during the process of closing a trade, FAPTURBO will try to close at 6 pips profit, but you could on occasion end up with 7 pips profit, 8 pips even, or it could “slip” the other way and go to 5 pips or 4 pips).

Furthermore, you can change FAP TURBO settings to teach him to take profit at 7 or 8 pips. But this is another post…

Today I was browsing Fap Turbo forum and knocked on a post from DAVIDR. He offered to use 2 charts for trading on the same currency pair. Here is his full post:

I have a question about a setting I am proposing. I have set up two Faps for each pair as follows:

I have set the first pair to trade long only with its own Magic Number, and The Second instance of the same pair I set to only take Shorts again with a different Magic Number.

I did this to keep taking trades if a long goes into negative without a sufficient retracement to close. At least I can still get profit from my shorts while I wait for retracement back to the Long position or I eventually take the loss on the one open long position.

The idea is very good, cause it would allow to gain more opening new positions while waiting till the opened position would close. Of course, the first idea that came to my head was - why does FAP TURBO automated trading system do not do it by itself?

I believe that it is discussed by FAP TURBO creators. But while it is only in minds, others have installed this to their accounts and have some results from DEMO accounts.

lmstuff-fapt reported that he is running such a strategy on his demo account and here is his configuration:

I am trading 2 pairs with it EURGBP and EURCHF.

I setup 4 charts and attached the FT ea to all 4 with default scalper settings other than the LRR and MM on and Micro lots on.

I then made 1 chart Short Only trades 1 chart Long Only trades for each pair.

I gave each chart its own unique Magic Number.

I reduced the LRR down for each chart to minimize risk, if 2 trades of the same pair or 4 trades for both pairs are active so not to over leverage.

EURGBP LRR 15 on both and EURCHF LRR 20 on both.

It still has not many data and that strategy should be front tested more before to be implemented on LIVE accounts. Furthermore, we need to take care of the leverage of our account, cause such trading can hit margin if the active trades will be a big loss.

Here is what lmstuff-fapt says about it:

I reduced the LRR. Comparing this to my Live account and trading FT normally It will be less profitable in the long run and if you increase your LRR to match your normal single trade settings your risk greatly increases due to the chance of over leveraging the account.

I would recommend to run these FAP TURBO settings on large account ($1000 to $10000) keeping low LRR settings, cause still you will be making good money on Forex.

Today I am going to open new DEMO account (it will be exact mirror for my intents to have $10000 LIVE account) and I will run it on my Forex VPS. Soon I will show you the results of this strategy with such FAP TURBO settings.
