Very interesting stuff, when put so simply and eloquently it's amazing that such a successful business could make such a mistake. Great article.

Hi Vignesh

Completely agree! Some adrenalin is entirely necessary to perform at your best - and of course we all get "butterflies" - but the trick is, as my colleague Henry Caplan says at Working Voices, to make sure that your butterflies "fly in formation" (!) and don't trip you up by the nerves taking over.

Confidence helps. But don't you think a small amount of nervousness will bring the best out of a person, rather than being absolutely confident?

I do think that monopoly businesses can be slightly insulated from the effects of poor communication. But often, as in this case, these organisations rely heavily on public funding from governments and elected officials. And once the public start blaming those elected officials for problems with such monopoly organisations the insulation can soon begin to disappear.

Well said! Its often small things that makes big differences and this is clearly laziness or ignorance on the part of the communicator to communicate effectively. I don't think he realized the importance of " Small things making Crucial differences".

But don't you think it is bound to happen especially when we enjoy monopoly powers as in this case??
