I love long-sleeved tees, so was happy to see this shirt from Search Fuel - nice weight black tshirt with screen-printing on the front, side arm and back.  The back says “9-2-08″ which appears to be the launch date of SearchFuel.com - a blog about search marketing insights.  Having a PR3 on your one month anniversary is pretty impressive, so I looked at Alexa and the WayBackMachine to see the domain name has went through a few changes and even downtime over the years.  I wish them the best of luck to keep growing, and thanks for the shirt!

OMG, I just realized I have some semi Sarah Palin hair going on.  Now I just need some knock-off Sarah Palin glasses.

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world, one child and one community at a time.

I am a past-President of my local Kiwanis Club and have a goal to someday to be the Lt. Governor of my District.  This picture was taken Wednesday during our annual Kiwanis Peanut Day Fundraiser.  So for today’s tshirt, I’d thought I’d give a shout-out to this great international civic organization.

Plus I admit I’m still in my pajamas as I write this.  I’m running late, and I haven’t even started to pack to leave for New York City after my son’s football game tonight.  Will be attending Affiliate Social Media Summit and SMXE, so if you’ll be there, look me up! Whenever I see the name Chitika (pronounced CHIH-tih-ka), 
I think of Chiquita bananas.

So here I am in today’s free shirt from Chitika Advertising Network.

I have never been a big fan of contextual / in-text ad programs, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt and decided to try them on a site of mine.  At first I tried Kontera ContentLinks, but didn’t find the ads to be anywhere near relevant, thus the click-through conversion rate sucked.

After seeing that PerezHilton.com uses Vibrant Media in-text ads that shows totally relevant ads, I decided to apply.  Well, they denied me saying I didn’t have enough traffic.  Ok, I’m not exactly Perez Hilton yet anyway, but you gotta start somewhere.

So, right now I’m using Chitika Linx. And I just went to check the relevancy of the ads…
“gossip girls” brought up “Raquel Welch”
“black leather” brought up “McCain for President”
“hot pink” brought up “Sarah Palin Tanning Bed”
Now considering the page did talk about Sarah Palin and Raquel Welch wigs, the ads themselves may be relevant, but the words they chose to highlight the ads on is a fail.

Since I have yet to earn enough to receive a check from Chitika, I think I’m going to remove the Linx and try Chitika eMiniMalls - their new flagship product that they’ve been bragging up (and Joel Comm recommends) that claims to provide users with relevant content and comparative shopping information.

And then I’m gonna reapply to Vibrant Ads.

I wasn’t able to attend BlogWorld in Vegas last week, and heard I missed a great opportunity for learning, networking and partying!  Am definitely penciling it in for next year!

I was pleasantly surprised when Debby, Lisa and Karen all twittered me that Mike Allen of Shopping-Bargains.com plugged a few of my sites during the Affiliate Marketing Secrets For Bloggers panel.   I’m flattered that he mentioned Steal The Style, Shoeaholics Anonymous and this very site, Work In My Pajamas as “great examples of creativity.”   Thanks for the kind words, Mike!  And check out Mike’s Shopping-Bargains Blog.

At Affiliate Summit East in Boston, ShareASale handed out special “got babies” tees, in which I had my god-daughter, Merin, model for me (isn’t she cute?) I didn’t let her keep the SAS-Boston shirt though, as I have a friend (a fellow Kiwanian) who has a little boy named Boston.  It was too boyish for the little Hannah Montana fan anyway.

I also scored a new black tee, prepackaged as ShareASale’s signature star.  I had Merin hold it in the picture, then washed it before taking my mug shot in it, as opposed to my previous white ShareASale tshirt.  I suggest yellow tees made up for the next run since yellow is their signature color associated with the star logo. And well, I’ve been told yellow is a good color on me.

It was great to see Brian, Carolyn, Sarah and David in Boston! Yes, I missed you Nate. I have yet to meet Michael, Brian’s brother, though.  A couple years ago at an Affiliate Dinner in Chicago, I remember asking Carolyn why Michael never attends functions.  Carolyn had me believing that Michael was a figment of Brian’s imagination - that Brian was really Michael.  And I believed her, as it all made sense why I had never met him! You had me going, Ms. Carolyn!  I guess Michael was in Vegas, but I missed him! Maybe next time?!

Anyway, if you aren’t associated with  ShareASale.com yet as either an affiliate or a merchant, you are missing out!  They are the best network at listening and implementing everyone’s ideas! I got invited to the ShareASale Think Tank 2008 in San Diego next month (last year in Scottsdale was AWESOME), but I am disappointed that I will be unable to attend - my son is a senior football player, and I don’t want to miss the Parent’s Night game!  I will get to see the ShareASale gang earlier that week though as I’ll be in NYC for Affiliate Summit Social Media (ShareASale will be hosting another fabulous party) and SMXE.
