Sugarland Upset by Thoughts They Don't Care Much About Fans, Manager Claims

Though their attorneys said fans were partly to blame for injuries in a response to a civil lawsuit filed against them following the fatal stage collapse at 2011's Indiana State Fair, Sugarland insisted that they did care about their fans. Gail Gellman, a manager for the country duo, has issued a statement on Tuesday, February 21 afternoon in an attempt to clarify the band's response.

"Sadly when a tragedy occurs, people want to point fingers and try to sensationalize the disaster," Gellman noted before stressing, "The single most important thing to Sugarland are their fans. Their support and love over the past nine years has been unmatched. For anyone to think otherwise is completely devastating to them."

Sugarland sparked fans' outrage after their response to a negligence suit filed against them was uncovered on Tuesday. In the court documents obtained by local Indiana news station WRTV, the band's attorneys claimed that injured fans "failed to exercise due care for their own safety", adding some of them "knowingly and voluntarily assumed and/or incurred the risk of injury to themselves."

Their lawyers also argued that the band "had nothing to with the construction of the venue" or therefore its safety. The document additionally read, "The incident at issue in this litigation resulted from a gust of wind of unprecedented intensity, which caused a structure that may have been improperly designed, maintained and/or inspected to fail. As such, this was a true accident or Act of God."

Reacting to Sugarland's response, Haley Waggoner of Cincinnati, who suffered a concussion because of the stage collapse, told The Associated Press, "It disgusts me. Through this whole process, I don't feel like the band cares that much about fans." She further added, "If they don't believe in us for something that isn't our fault, then I don't want to support them."

Carl Brizzi, who is representing the widow of killed security guard Glenn Goodrich, also shared sharp reaction to the band's response to the negligence suit. He said in a statement, "Sugarland has engaged in a public relations campaign to put the best light on its role in the avoidable tragedy. And this spin-doctoring of Sugarland's role in the case is both offensive and outlandish."

The fatal stage collapse at an Indiana State Fair took place on August 13, 2011. It occurred after a storm toppled concert scaffolding onto the front rows as Sugarland were waiting to take their turn to hit the stage. It left seven people dead and more than 40 injured. Survivors and family members of the deceased filed the negligence lawsuit against the band in Marion Superior Court in Indianapolis in November.

Cornell sang the acoustic ballad at an Obama fundraiser Friday and it took a few seconds for the audience to even recognize the song. Liam Hemsworth Can't Stop Laughing at Squirrels

In The Hunger Games, Liam Hemsworth stars as a handsome hunter who kills and eats squirrels to survive. In reality, the actor doesn't carry around snare traps, nor does he serve his girlfriend Miley Cyrus roadkill for dinner. But just because he doesn't munch on them, doesn't mean the actor doesn't think about squirrels -- a lot.

Turns out the Australian thinks the bushy-tailed rodents are all kinds of hilarious. He revealed his fascination in a recent Details interview where he talked about a few of his other favorite things, including Jack in the Box with mayonnaise, the Billy Ray Cyrus hit "Achy Breaky Heart," and some other fluffy stuff. Naturally, we're mostly interested in his thoughts on miniature mammals.

"How comedic are squirrels?!" Liam asked after seeing one scamper by during his interview. "We don't have squirrels in Australia. The first time I saw a squirrel was at a meeting at Disney. I was like, 'What the f---k?!"

A few things jump out here. First off, there are in fact squirrels running about Oz. Though they aren't native to the island nation, the Indian Palm Squirrel was accidentally introduced to Western Australia in the 19th century. So Hemsworth doesn't have any idea what he's talking about.

Hemsworth's gross ignorance speaks to a larger, more wide-spread problem. Like Rodney Dangerfield, these fast-moving, peanut-loving creatures can't get any respect. Anyone who' seen the video of the squirrel water skiing, knows how special these little critters are. But ever since Disney took Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers off the air, squirrels have struggled to gain the proper attention and appreciation they deserve.

Just as it's fine to guffaw at the penis cake Cyrus bought Hemsworth for his birthday, it's also acceptable to laugh at his seemingly innocuous statement about squirrels. Only, next time you're walking through the park on a crisp Autumn day, and you stop to take an Instagram photo of a passing critter to share with your hipster friends, remember: Squirrels have feelings too.

There seems to have been a rise in awareness about the power of their vote amongst Bollywood people. Many B-town celebs not only went out and cast their votes, but also encouraged others via micro-blogging site Twitter to do so. Shabana Azmi posted, “Mumbaiites cast your vote on 16th feb for municipal elections. Corporator is your 1st contact with d system directly impacts quality of life,” and followed it up with “Cmon go out n vote Your corporator has d greatest influence on your everyday needs dont moan abt woes of d city if u cant b bothered 2 vote.”

Music composer Vishal Dadlani tweeted, “Bombay, if you don’t vote today, you lose the right to whine and complain about bad roads, bad infrastructure, bad politicians. VOTE, now!” Actor Priyanka Chopra, who is away, posted, “Wish I was in mumbai today to vote..every year I do..I implore all of u to..we r the future n make this country what it will be for our kids.” Actor Kunal Kapoor said, “Please go out and VOTE.. Its not a holiday, don’t treat it as one pls.. Angelina Jolie Honored At The Berlin International Film Festival's Cinema For Peace Gala

Angelina Jolie has been honored for raising awareness of human rights issues with her directorial debut In the Land of Blood and Honey. The actress stepped behind the camera for the harrowing movie, about a forbidden romance between a Bosnian woman and a Serbian soldier during the Bosnian War.

Jolie was the guest of honor at the Cinema For Peace Gala in Berlin, Germany and she was handed the special film accolade as partner Brad Pitt looked on. The movie will premiere in Sarajevo, Bosnia on Tuesday, and Jolie admits she's feeling apprehensive about the showing.

She told reporters, "I'm nervous and I'm excited. I'll probably cry through the entire thing. I'll be very, very moved because, of course, a lot of the people coming are the victims of war so it's going to be heavy."

"I wanted to make a film that would express, in an artistic way, my frustrations with the international community's failure to intervene in conflicts in a timely and effective manner. I also wanted to explore and understand the Bosnian War, as well as broader issues such as women in conflict, sexual violence, accountability for war crimes and crimes against humanity, and the challenge of reconciliation," she explains. "It was the deadliest war in Europe since World War II, but sometimes people forget the terrible violence that happened in our time, in our generation, to our generation."

Bobbi Kristina Brown Hospitalized Twice After Suffering Breakdown Over Mother's Death

Bobbi Kristina Brown, Whitney Houston's only child with singer Bobby Brown, has been so distraught over her mother's death she's been hospitalized twice since Saturday afternoon.

On Saturday night Bobbi Kristina was taken to Cedars-Sinai hospital around 11pm because she was "hysterical, exhausted and inconsolable," according to a source speaking with gossip site TMZ. She was not transported via ambulance. On Sunday morning she was again rushed to the hospital, but this time she was taken from her room at the Beverly Hilton hotel (where her mother died less than 24 hours earlier), on a stretcher and taken away in an ambulance. So far all that's known is that medical personnel were called to the room. No other information about the second hospital visit has surfaced.

Bobbi Kristina, 19, was in the lobby of the Beverly Hilton hotel around the time Houston was pronounced dead (3:55pm on Saturday). Houston was discovered partially submerged in the bathtub in her room. According to a source speaking to People magazine, Bobbi broke down as medical personnel rushed into the room.

Now onto Rachel's to-die-for Vivienne Westwood dress. Draped designs with structured bodices are the designer's signature and Rachel was right on trend in this ultra-pale mint number. Red lips were a fun way to add vibrancy to her Snow White look, but the chains were an unusual jewelry choice. Regardless, Rachel makes red carpet magic, and if this is any indication, we will have a phenomenal tour circuit on our hands.
