I consider myself to be a relative expert of almost all things to do with World of Warcraft. That’s why, when I saw this new dailies and events guide, I was pretty surprised. I mean, I can understand a few people maybe wanting a WoW Dailies guide to help them, but the guide seemed very popular.

That got me thinking a bit. At first I thought, I’ve been playing WoW since it was in beta, so I know almost everything there is to know about dailies and events – but what about newer players, or players who just aren’t as hardcore as me? After a while, I was just too curious to stand it anymore.

So, after deciding to just give Zygor’s Dailies & Events Guide a shot (I wasn’t expecting much at all), I was in for a rather big surprise. I was completing dailies faster than I ever had before – and I’m an expert! Once I picked up my trampled ego off the floor, I was pretty impressed. I mean, I was doing things in only a few minutes what used to take me an hour, or more, to complete.

Now, I’m the proud owner of full heirloom item sets for all classes and I got my Crusader title faster than I thought was possible. All in all, I use Zygor’s guide every day, and if you are looking to do dailies and get heirloom items and your Crusader title really fast, this guide is not a bad investment.

The Violet Hold may be the most unique 5-man instance for in Northrend. It has three things which set it apart from all the others. First off, the location of the Violet Hold is right in the main Northrend city of Dalaran. For this reason, many people are willing to run it simply for convenience. Next, it’s a non-stop run once you start it. This means once you start the event that is Violet Hold, you cannot stop it (unless you die). The third feature that makes this instance so different would be the countdown you can watch at the top of your screen. It will count 1-18/18, at which point the final boss will be summoned. This instance only has 3 bosses at a time; however they are a random mix out of six available, and the one final boss.

The random bosses are Erekem, Moragg, Ichoron, Xevozz, Lavanthor and Zuramat. Erekem is a fairly basic tank and spank boss that has two adds with him. You just kill all these at once, and that’s the extent of the fight. Moragg is a giant, squid-like boss with seven eyes. Again for most players this is going to be a fairly simple fight. He has an ability called Optic Link that takes more life the farther away you are from him, but it’s only up to 3,000 so it shouldn’t be a big deal. The other simple boss would be Lavanthor, a giant core hound. The tank will want to face him away from the party because of his fire breath, but again this is usually considered a fairly easy boss. Just attack, heal, and tank and all should go well.

The other 3 random bosses are a little more complicated. Ichoron, a water elemental, is a bit of an odd fight. He is highly resistant to damage for a while. He’ll go into a separation phase where he’ll pop into multiple small water elementals all around the room. You can either attack these or simply hit the small switches on the instance walls. After a few rounds, he’ll become vulnerable to normal damage, but by then he’s about dead anyway. Xevozz is debatably the hardest boss, requiring constant kiting by the tank to avoid the AoE damage orbs that follow him. Keep the party away from the orbs and all is well. Xevozz’s difficulty is only rivaled by Zuramat, who spawns invisible adds that can add up and wipe a party. The key is, one person can see the adds at a time and is supposed to kill them. The biggest problem is that people rarely do this.

Cyanigosa will come down in the eighteenth phase in the middle of the room and turn into a big ol’ dragon. She has AoEs like Blizzard, and will hit the tank with fire breath. After a bit she’ll do an Arcane Grip that places everyone in the middle of the room and resets the agro table. This means that she no longer cares who the tank is; she will go after anyone in the group. The tank has to be prepared for this and taunt her back into beating on him. Other than this it’s, one of the easier boss fights in Wrath of the Lich King.

The population of World of Warcraft is growing exponentially. Everyday hundreds of people log in to an adventure in Azeroth and the Outlands. No matter where you find yourself in the world of WoW, you will eventually run into a city.
It doesn’t matter if you’ve chosen to fly the noble colors of the Alliance, or side with the war hungry Horde, there are refuges for you scattered across the map. Inside these cities you will find vendors offering goods, inns offering rested ‘xp’, food and drink, class trainers ready to teach you new talents or skills, members of factions seeking brave adventurers to take on their quests, and auction houses where players all gather to buy and sell the goods they gathered.
Yes, there are all wonderful things to have available to you in your city, but there is an unfortunate side to your city as well- trade chat.
What was originally supposed to be a chat channel specifically for buying and selling of goods, has turned into the most annoying of Blizzards creations. People from all classes and races have taken it upon themselves to fill the once respectable trade chat channel with immature conversations, political arguments, filthy joke competitions and illegal spam messages.
The people who still try to use the trade channel to actually trade are in a losing battle due to the fact that many people choose to ignore the trade chat channel altogether. If you really want to sell something, your best bet is to ‘yell’.
For those who are heroically trying to get the trade chat channel back to the way it’s supposed to be, their battle is far from over. Too many people choose to abuse the trade chat so many others choose to let it fall by the way side.
Come on Blizzard. Get a clue! Either filter it better or shut it down completely. The city dwellers of World of Warcraft are crying out for justice.

In the world of World of Warcraft there are four different types of player; the tank, the dps, the healer, and the ranged dps. When it comes to choosing a class that gives you the freedom to choose which one you want to be (well, at least three), you can’t get any better than the paladin or the druid- but in this case, we will talk about the awesomeness of the powerful holy knight- the Paladin.
Long before he was the dreaded Lich King, Prince Arthas himself was a powerful and noble paladin that led troops of glorious paladins in battle against the enemies of Lordaeron. Unfortunately, absolute power corrupted absolutely, and he found himself enthroned on ice- the unwitting slave to a possessed sword filled with hatred, blood lust, and pure evil. There is a whole storyline surrounding Prince Arthas and his sword, but that is for another time.
Needless to say, if this possessed sword chose Arthas because of his abilities as a paladin, there are very good reasons why.
The Protection Paladin: The Tank
When enemies arise and someone has to step forward to take the brunt of the powerful fiendish blows, the Paladin tank is the toughest of them all. Called the tank because of their ability to take massive damage while protecting those around them, the group tank is the main weapon of every raid. The paladin tank has the ability to take damage and turn it into mana. He also has the ability taunt the enemy and holds the agro so that other damage dealing members of the group never get physically damaged.
A group has a very slim chance of surviving any raid or instance once the tank has been killed, so having a really good healer around to keep the tank alive is a must. That is where the paladin healer comes in.
The Holy Paladin: The Healer
Just like in real life, any battle requires a healer, someone who can take the worst of the worst and bring them back from the brink of death. Any group in World of Warcraft is much better off if their group has a healer- someone to keep the members of the group alive throughout the fights.
The holy paladin is talented with the ability to heal group members, resurrect them after they’ve been killed, shield them from damage for a short amount of time, and to sacrifice their own lives to that a member of their group can remain untouched in the midst of enemies.
The Retribution Paladin: The DPS
Every group would do well to have a ret pally on their team. Not only do they dish out disgusting amounts of damage on the enemy, but they can also heal in small bursts, and resurrect other players.
In all honesty, you can have an entire group of five filled with various ‘specs’ of paladins (a prot pally, a holy pally, and 2 ret pallies), and actually do a great job.
Paladins are versatile, tough, powerful and great in a pinch.

The ghosts haunting an ancient battleground await the warrior who is strong enough to silence them into their eternal rest. The battle took place in a soaring tower where the legendary Medivh was defeated by the army of Stormwind, after which his tower was sealed away from the rest of the world until recently. Now it has reopened, and warriors from across the land converge to challenge the ghosts in this ancient place and claim its spoils.

The Fun of Karazhan

Karazhan is a 10 or 25-man raid that came with the Burning Crusade expansion of World of Warcraft. It is a fairly large instance with a lot of “trash.” Trash is the common term for a bunch of baddies you have to kill before you get to a boss. While this is a fairly large instance, it’s located at the southern end of Deadwind Pass, which is one of the smaller areas in the entire game.

When the Burning Crusade expansion was added, it introduced a new continent for players to utilize, but strangely this raid is found in the original continents. As far as the raid itself, it’s generally considered a beginner raid for people just having reached level 70. Since it is a level 70 raid, it may be more difficult to find a group of 70’s to run it with as many Burning Crusade raids became obsolete with the latest expansion- The Wrath of the Lich King.

Karazhan is a very intriguing instance overall. It appears as a sort of rundown castle complete with stables, dining room, library, museum, bordello and even a theater. All of these unique areas come with their own bosses who of course compliment the situations: Horse boss in the stables, food fight in the dining room, Wizard of Oz basically acted out in the theater, a giant Maiden of Virtue in the bordello, and a living exhibit in the museum.

This is a very fun instance that takes a little bit of skill to troubleshoot, but players that have joined since around January 2009 may never have had the chance to experience this as it was intended. You can put together a run, but chances are a couple 80’s will be along just for fun and all the difficulty and satisfaction of overcoming difficult fights will be lost.

If you have a chance to run this as a 70 with other 70’s, take it. If you have never run it and decide to as a level 80, that’s fine too, because the experiences alone are worth your time. Karazhan was the raiding standard for quite some time and long-time players will always look back at it with fondness.

On the decimated plains of a once thriving landscape, Hellfire Peninsula is home to creatures both biological and mechanical that can shake the very foundations of the world.
The malicious Burning Legion, a horde of dark demons bent on the damnation of the universe, is building an unholy army- one that will strip the flesh from your bones no matter which faction you hide behind.
The creatures roaming the parched plains of Hellfire are the stuff of nightmares, but even they take shelter when the ground quakes and the air fills with the sounds of a roaring mechanical beast.
The Fel Reaver is a giant mechanical construct created solely to destroy all those that get in its way. As is patrols the land, the Fel Reaver actively seeks to kill any player that gets within its aggro radius. Running from this beast isn’t easy, as the plains of Hellfire and filled with other creatures and NPCs that will stop you in your tracks. There’s nothing quite like getting the attention of the Fel Reaver, running for your life, only to be struck immobile by a Deranged Helboar.
The Fel Reaver is a level 70 elite mechanical creature that can be downed with a group of three appropriately geared players. This group should consist of a level 70 tank (to take the force of the Reavers blows, and to hold aggro off the healer and DPser), a level 70 healer (to keep the tank alive) and a level 70 DPSer (this can be any number of classes, but the preferred DPS is ranged. This keeps the DPS dealer at a safe distance.)
Believe it or not, this evil mechanical behemoth can be soloed, but it takes a higher level player or a very quick and clever lower level player that knows when to run, and when to let the mage NPCs near Thrallmar do all the damage.
To obtain the key to The Shattered Halls in Auchindoun, you will need to either kill the Fel Reaver or allow someone else to kill it then use its smoldering carcass to cast the key.
The Fel Reaver is a very large, very imposing monster that many WoW players despise. There isn’t a player in the world of WoW that hasn’t been killed or beaten on by this hideous thing. Never fear, if you’re killed you can always come back when you’re “bigger” and take your revenge. There’s nothing quite like downing the accursed Fel Reaver without breaking a sweat.

In almost every fantasy novel, there is some kind of creature or being that encompasses powers in tuned with the world around them. In the World of Warcraft universe, that being is the druid.
Much like its paladin comrade, the druid has the ability to be three of the four types of player; tank, healer, dps and ranged dps. The druid is a potent, mystical being with deep roots in the earth and powers as vast as the sky.
If you want to create a druid character to quest in the wide world of Azeroth and the Outlands, you can choose between three (two if you dual spec) types. Here is some basic information on the three druid types available to you.
Life Bringer: The Restoration Druid
In every battle in the world of Azeroth and beyond the Dark Portal, there is a desperate need for healers. The restoration druid is a very powerful being capable of healing an entire group of damage, cure poisons and lift curses from players in their group. Not only that, the resto druid has the ability to resurrect players after a battle has been fought, or raise a character back to life in the middle of the battle with a special battle rez.
One of the coolest things about the resto (restoration) druid is that fact that they take the form of an ent, or tree spirit- branches, leaves, bark, roots and all- a living, moving tree.
Damage from Afar: The Balance Druid
Unlike the Paladin, the druid has the ability to produce massive amounts of damage without ever stepping into the fray. The balance druid is considered a ranged dps (damage per second) player because all of their attacks can take place yards away from the physically damaging enemy.
With spells made of lightening, the balance druid can call down the rage of the heavens to decimate their enemies.
The balance druid also has the ability to shape shift into the form of a moonkin (fondly called the ‘Boomkin’ because of its ability to add a little BOOM to the fight).
Wild and Untamed: The Feral Druid
Not only can the druid deal damage from a safe distance, but they can also deal severe amounts of damage right up close. The feral druid can take the form of a bear or a large cat and strike at their enemies from a fatal distance- right up next to the jugular.
The bear form of the feral druid is considered a tanking form because of the amount of damage they can take. The cat form of the feral druid is considered a dps form because of the amount of damage they can dish out. Either way, the feral druid can draw blood and bring death quickly.
No matter what form, shape, or spec of druid you choose to be, the druid is a great ally to have in battle. Druids are healers, death dealers, and lightening stealers…one of the coolest and most created classes in the game.

Outside the realm of earthly magic, there is a place filled with shadows, darkness, the heat from boiling cauldrons, the cries of inhuman creatures, and the weight of something invisible hovering over you…watching you…playing with you.
This is the place of the warlock.
The warlock is a class that specializes in the use of dark shadow magic. Curses of pain, fear, and agony rain down the warlock’s enemies making them weak and vulnerable to the attacks the warlock and his trusty otherworldly minions.
Minions you ask? Oh, yes…minions from a place far darker than the darkest heart in Azeroth.
The Imp
The warlock’s imp is a feisty little demon with a propensity for mischief and a hankering for fireball throwing. This little creature loves trouble, but doesn’t deal well with physical or spell damage. The imp should only be summoned when you are in need of additional ranged dps.
The Voidwalker
This minion is summoned from a realm of arcane energies. Known for its brute strength and ability to take great amounts of damage, the Voidwalker can be summoned to take the role of the tank in soloing situations. Also, the Voidwalker has the handy ability to sacrifice its own life so that its master can have a few seconds of invincibility.
The Succubus
This minion is sexy, sensual and absolutely deadly. When summoned she can cast debuffs on any enemy the warlock faces. Her sassy attitude and diabolically sultry costume makes her a great choice when all you really need is a distraction or two.
These warlock minions are only the bottom rung of the warlock minion hierarchy. With greater power and experience, comes more powerful and more devastating minions to summon and control.
The warlock is the master of the inhuman creature, and the possessor of heinous magicks.

There’s never any shortage of interesting diversions to be found in the World of Warcraft, and these tasks are rarely without their rewards. There’s something incredibly addicting about the Pavlovain action-reward system that keeps us constantly coming back for more, and doing whatever it takes to get that shinier piece of gear or increase our supply of gold. One thing’s for sure; you won’t efficiently accomplish this unless you level up your professions.

It can seem expensive, like an impossibly high mountain to climb, and it may be frustrating to be stuck with all the low-level trinkets you need in order to level yourself up, but trust me, once you get to the top of your profession, you’ll be cranking out high-end items, making plenty of gold, and have great gear for yourself. Here’s a couple favorite professions of mine, but there are fifteen total professions in the game as of this writing, so always do a little extra research first so that you can see what professions will complement your class and other professions so that you get the most well-rounded character you can achieve.

Jewelcrafting

This is where the bling comes in—as a Jewelcrafter, you’ll be able to make all kinds of necessary pieces of jewelry (and eventually the epic items for your class) to give the combat bonuses that will really give you an edge over other players.

Mining

Mining is a secondary craft, that is, you don’t actually make anything useful, but you’ll be able to gather raw materials that are indelible for the other professions. You can save yourself a lot of money mining these materials for yourself, not to mention make quite a bit of money if you sell or auction the ore and gems you mine to other crafters who need critical pieces for their professions.

Enchanting

This is a tough one to get into, but the reward is great. You’ll need to level past 350 before you can really start cranking out useful enchants for your gear and selling your services to other players, but that’s the beauty of it—a lot of players never bother with Enchanting because of the work it takes. So if you’re willing to do the work, the rewards will be well worth it.

Blacksmithing

Ah, the foundation of any good gear set. You need armor. You need weapons. It’s not unusual to get the short end of the stick on group raids, so why not make your own? As a blacksmith, if you’re diligent in hunting down all the necessary pieces, you can make a pretty respectable set of weapons and armor for yourself, and of course, make weapons and armor for other players, gaining both experience and money along the way.

The world of Azeroth is full of money making opportunities, and opportunities to further your own gear levels.

Once an underground stronghold of the arachnoid race of Nerubians, the necropolis known as Naxxramas has been raised by dark magic from its place in the grave and hung like a toxic ornament in the sky over Dragonblight.
The floating necropolis of Naxxramas is home to four separate wings- all overflowing with death, poison, undead creatures of nightmares, hate, the cries of human experiments and the fetid smell of unholy magic.
Ruled over by the mightiest of the Lich Kings lieutenants, the four wings of Naxxramas have been opened to the world of Azeroth- but only the bravest of the level 80 adventurers dare enter the black and terrifying gates.
The dark mage Kel’Thuzad, reigns from his hateful throne high in the top of the necropolis, laughing as the so called bravest come and die- one by one.
Death and Disease: The Plague Wing
The Plague Wing of Naxxramas is home to the most despicable experiments known to man or orc. The undead laboratories are filled with vials of frightening diseases, toxins, poisons, pestilence- all of which can easily bring the strongest among any raid to their knees, crying out for death.
The greatest of these laboratories are run by the heartless undead Heigan the Unclean, Loatheb, and Noth the Plaguebringer- each stronger than the last. A raid of 10 or 25 may be able to bring down the diseased leaders of this wing, but don’t get your hopes up…the other wings only get harder.
War and Pain: The Military Wing
Kel’Thuzad cannot complete the commands of the Lich King without help from his own army. This army comprised of the most hateful and warmongering among Azeroth, is training diligently for the impending cleansing of the lands below the floating necropolis. Headed by the dreaded Four Horseman, the Military Wing is a festering complex of pain and blood.
Undeath and Fear: The Construct Wing
There is a place in existence that the living mind cannot even begin to imagine- even in their worst nightmares. The Construct Wing of Naxxramas is home to the most twisted undead abominations ever created. Pieced together from pieces of tortured prisoners, the constructs in this wing hunger for warm flesh- to eat and to pulverize.
The largest and most horrific of these constructs, Thaddius, is freed from his energy prison and brings down pain, blight and desecration upon your head.
Crawling in Darkness: The Arachnid Wing
The original inhabitants of Naxxramas never really left. They were conquered and killed, only to be resurrected into eternal servitude to the Lich King. The Arachnid Wing is crawling with the undead spider-like creatures eager to suck the very life’s blood from your writhing corpse.
The greatest of these spider-like creatures is a grotesque monstrosity known as Maexxna, a gargantuan spider hanging hungrily over a large pit- waiting for you to come and serve yourself to her on a silver platter.
Kel’Thuzad: Lord of the Dead
Long before you reach the unholy chambers of Kel’Thuzad, you have experienced more horror in those four wings than you will the rest of your short life.
If you thought the bosses before were hard to kill, you’ve seen nothing yet. Kel’Thuzad wasn’t chosen as the ruler of Naxxramas because of his winning smile- his hate for all living things is great, but the immense power of his ugly black magic is even greater.
What was once buried in the ground- a place of secret menace- has come to the sky above Dragonblight- a necropolis of devastating horrors…filling the air with the scents of death.
