Sending messages to an e-mail list is a powerful marketing tool. However, there are times when we would like to get a better response from what we send out. If you are serious about doing better, here are five various tips to help improve your campaign results.

1. Put opt-in forms everywhere. The more you have out there, the more chances people will have to fill them out. And remember to tell your visitors to fill in the form – be polite and direct – but don’t make them guess what they’re supposed to do.

2. Give your subscribers a hint of what’s to come in the next message. You don’t want to give it all away, but anything you can do to increase their anticipation of your next e-mail will go a long way toward increasing your open rates.

3. Advance notice of an upcoming message. This is a bit different than the previous tip in that the entire message is sent for the sole purpose of telling your readers about what’s coming – use these messages to let them know about time-sensitive offers coming up, so they don’t lose out Be sure to include the time zone when you send out something with a deadline to prevent confusion for time-sensitive offerings.

4. Create messages people will want to share with their friends. Not all e-mails must be designed to remain exclusive to your list. Encourage them to share from time to time. When doing this, keep potential readers in mind; and be sure to give them a reason to follow through on your call to action.

5. Automate as much of your e-mail marketing as possible. Autoresponders are a must-have tool for simplifying the campaigns you send out. You can pre-load as many messages as you like, and set when they will be delivered. At the very least, you should have a welcome message that is sent immediately after opt-in is confirmed.

E-mail marketing is here to stay, and smart business owners will educate themselves on how to make the most of it. You’ve read this far, so I am going to assume that you are serious about doing better. Take the next step and start using the tips above to improve your campaigns.

Do you know that you need to learn your autoresponder if you want to use it effectively. I am not Joking for sure.

Hey guys, I hope you all are enjoying your life and your IM world too. I just came across something which I thought would be of some help to you. Therefore I decided to upload it here so that you can easily access it and will be able to read it quickly.

By giving this piece of article a title “Learn Your Autoresponder” seems to bit different until you read the whole article to know what exactly I am saying about.

Autoresponder’s help you send emails to a huge list within a short span of time and there is no doubt that they are very much effective in reducing our manual works. It helps us make contact to more customers and all in one click. But it is also seen that a person who is new to usage of autoresponder is not so effective in making good contacts even with the help of autoresponder. Now you might be thinking then what the use of an autoresponder is, and what the limitations of it are. To tell you frankly there is no problem with an autoresponder. The only problem is the users do not know how to use an autoresponder effectively.

The reason is, as the user is new to the responder, he is unable to figure it as to how the whole autoresponder works and in makes some mistakes. He sometimes can even make mistakes that can lead him to be listed as a spam in the email list. What you need to do is first of all before using an autoresponder to contact the list of your, try and read the complete manual that is given to you with the autoresponder. This way you will be able to know exactly how to use it.

Now just add your email address to the autoresponder and send some testing mails to yourself. This will help you figure out your mistakes if any. Within a couple of few hours you will be able to use the autoresponder effectively and this will be of a great help to you in the future.

By learning your autoresponder you can also avoid any future mistakes that you would have made without knowing about it and it will be easy to convince your potential customers. As it is a pleasure for a person to see a mistake/problem free email in his list.

Hope this will help you somehow.

THANK YOU.

Hello People,

During my search over the internet, I came through some questions that were asked very frequently. Many people on the internet are very much confused between an autoresponder program and an autoresponder services. These types of confusion have many a time lead to a situation, where a person purchase an autoresponder program when actually he is in need of an autoresponder service.

Actually an autoresponder program is a program or a script that is set up on your web server. Mostly an autoresponder program comes free with the hosting service you are taking, but few a times people are not comfortable with the free stuff provided by the hosting company and therefore thy opt for another program or script and then install it on the web server.

Apart from those people that go for an autoresponder programs, there are many people that opt even for the autoresponder services. A person who go for thee kind of services need to use a monthly subscription that is provided by the autoresponder service provider. You just need to set your message in the autoresponder and you can easily manage you opt-in list. Now you would be thinking that what the difference between both of them is. One of the main differences between an autoresponder program and an autoresponder services is while the autoresponder program runs on your web server the autoresponder service runs on the service provider’s web server. In this way your limited bandwidth and server space is saved and you can easily manage your opt-in list.

Autoresponder services are of great help to newbie’s as it is easy to handle and does not need any technical knowledge. Fully automatic work is the best feature of an autoresponder services. Now you might be thinking of the cost you will have to invest in an autoresponder service. So let me tell you that no need to worry folks, as there are many free autoresponder software available. They have a limited amount of space allotted to you and unlike the paid version, you will be able to only have a limited amount of opt-ins. Once your opt-ins are full then you can think of investing in the paid version as the risk taking factor is already minimized by the free version.

No one gives anything for free and its nothing different with the autoresponder service providers. Usually they place an advertisement in your mail. Some place their advertisement at the top of the email while some place it at the bottom. Some reputed autoresponder service providers just give it to you like that way so that in future they can have a regular customer.

Most of the advanced marketer prefers autoresponder programs over the services. This is because in an autoresponder services the user have various limitations such as compulsory confirmation email to the subscriber etc. advanced marketers use the programs as they have total control over the program.

Choosing an autoresponder is totally your call. If you have lack of money and yet want an autoresponder than go for the free version and if you don’t like the limitations implemented on you by the autoresponder service then opt for the programs.

Anyways the sole motto of doing so is to increase your business, and if it done by either of them, you are in a profit.

If you’ve ever used an autoresponder before, did you ever find yourself saying to yourself, “If only my autoresponder could…” and then just gave a sigh of frustration? I know the feeling. I’ve used quite a few autoresponders in my day. Some of them were not so good until I finally found a service that was pretty darn near perfect. In this article, I’m going to share some of my “If onlys” with you. Some of them have been solved. Some are still a distant dream.

One of my early autoresponder wishes was for my autoresponder to be able to automatically remove somebody from your list and not just make them inactive. Now I realize that with the autoresponders that make them inactive, it’s easy enough to just run a report of all inactive members and delete them with the click of a button. But it would just be nice if I didn’t have to do that one little step. If they’ve unsubscribed, let them REALLY be gone.

Another one of my autoresponder wishes is to be able to turn single and double opt in on and off depending on where the subscriber comes from. For example, if the subscriber for my list is coming from an opt in form that I send only to people who are already on another one of my lists, I want them to be able to get into that list with single opt in. I mean they’re already on a list with the same service. So why make them use double opt in? For people I get into that list who I don’t know from Adam, they should have to double opt in. The problem is, all autoresponders I have seen so far are either single or double for that list. You can’t have it both ways. Okay, maybe I’m asking for a lot, but you do see my point, right?

Another thing I wish with all my heart that my autoresponder could do is allow me to manually resend the confirmation messages, for my double opt in lists, to those people who haven’t confirmed yet. Unfortunately, all autoresponders I have used don’t allow you to contact these people in any manner shape or form from their service as they hide their email addresses from you. Not only that, but they don’t even allow you to remove these people from the system. It’s like they’re there, but not really. Oh sure, most services will automatically remove the unconfirmed after 30 days or so, but who wants to wait that long, especially when most services charge you once you get past a certain number of list members?

Okay, my wish list is turning into a rant. But you do see my point, right? Maybe asking for the perfect autoresponder service is asking for too much. Maybe we should be happy with the features that we do get, and granted, the top services have some neat features. But marketers are a picky lot. We want everything and we want it yesterday.

So, what’s YOUR autoresponder wish list? What makes you say “If only my autoresponder could…” and brings about a sigh of despair?

Drop me a line someday and I’ll add it to my list, which seems to be growing more and more everyday.

Some people are just never satisfied.

To YOUR Success

It’s one thing finding an autoresponder with all the features you want, but just as important, especially if you don’t have the funds for the top of the line autoresponders, is to make sure you avoid hooking up with an autoresponder that is going to end up making you regret the day that you ever signed up with the service. In this article, I’m going to alert you to a few things that you definitely want to look out for when searching for an autoresponder. This may take a little bit of digging, as most companies aren’t going to tell you what’s wrong with their service, only why it’s the best thing since sliced bread.

One of the things I learned the hard way is that you don’t want to hook up with an autoresponder service that doesn’t have an import or export feature. Let’s say you had a list with another autoresponder service, or even your own script, and because of spam complaints, you want to take your list to another service. Well, if that service doesn’t have an import feature, and the only way to get these people back in is to have them re-opt in manually, or worse by manually entering them yourself, you are going to be in for some very long nights, especially if you have a list of 10,000 people.

What about the export problem? Well, let’s say you’re no longer happy with the autoresponder you just signed up with. Maybe you found out that their delivery rates are horrible or they just raised their price and you don’t want to pay it. If they don’t have an export feature, you’re going to have to enter all those names manually to get them into your new autoresponder. This is something I had to do when I finally converted to an autoresponder that met my needs, so I am speaking from experience.

Another thing you want to watch out for when signing up with an autoresponder service is their policy on single opt in mailings. You don’t want to get hooked up with a service that leaves you responsible for spam complaints if you decide to go with single opt in, which is why I strongly recommend going with double opt in to avoid this problem altogether. So if your autoresponder service doesn’t have double opt in, you may want to consider going elsewhere.

Finally, you don’t want to hook yourself up with an autoresponder service that has a bad reputation, and this is very easy to check. Just go to www.uribi.com and see if they’re on any of the blacklists. If the service you want to hook up with is blacklisted, then more likely than not, your emails are not going to get delivered. And, if you go with double opt in, that means that few of your subscribers will get their opt in emails. Your list will end up suffering greatly because of this. So make sure the autoresponder service that you want to get involved with has a good reputation.

Of course there is how you run your autoresponder series in the first place, but that’s a topic for another discussion.

Just make sure the autoresponder you decide to use doesn’t turn out to be the hangman’s noose around your neck.

I get this question asked to me an awful lot. Maybe it’s because when it comes to autoresponders, people who are new to Internet marketing really don’t know a lot about them. Of course it could also be because that there are so many autoresponders out there that it’s hard to know what features are must haves and which ones are just “wish I did” haves. Well, hopefully, this article will shed some light on the few things that I personally feel a good autoresponder should have. Please keep in mind, this list is not all inclusive.

The first thing, and probably the most important thing you want to look for in a good autoresponder, is deliverability. Let’s face it. If your email message does not get to the intended recipient, you are not going to get the results that you’re looking for in your campaign. Finding an autoresponder with good deliverability rates is not hard to do as most of the popular ones on the Internet publish statistics. You can also find reviews on many autoresponders that point out deliverability rates. A good autoresponder should deliver at least 98% of your emails. That’s what you want to look for when shopping around.

The next thing you want to look for in a good autoresponder is the ability to choose either single or double opt in, and in all cases, you should go with double opt in. The reason is because with single opt in, it’s too easy for a person to put in another person’s email address. If that happens, you are essentially opening yourself up to spam complaints when that person receives an email from you. If you get enough of these from your autoresponder service, you could end up losing your service. So multiple opt in features are important if for no other reason than to keep you out of hot water.

The next thing you want to look for in a good autoresponder is one with a number of features. This is where things start to get a little muddy because each autoresponder is going to have different features. However, the basic ones you want are the ability to create more than one autoresponder series, the ability to have unlimited follow up emails and autoresponder series, the ability to broadcast a message at any time to any of your lists as well as an individual member of your list, and the ability to have the system automatically remove a person from one list, such as a non buyers list, when they purchase and become a member of your buyers list.

As I said, the above list is by no means all inclusive. There are many other features that are nice to have but not a matter of life and death. For example, it would be nice to have the ability to do a split broadcast, sending half your list one message and the other half another and see which message gets better results. There are some autoresponders that will actually let you do a 4 way split, sending 4 different messages to your whole list.

Best thing to do is simply go online, look up “autoresponder services” at your favorite search engine, go to their site, and see what services they offer. Just make sure they have the ones that I said you really want to have in order to do what I would call the basics.

There are a few good autoresponders out there. Just do your shopping and make an informed decision.

Your list will thank you for it.
