In Asia and Europe, an amazing array of different art forms, cultural genres, styles and traditions thrive. Barriers of distance, language, the sheer size and diversity make it difficult to gain an insight into the artistic and cultural scene in either place.

culture360.org aims to stimulate the cultural engagement between Asia and Europe and enhance greater understanding between the two regions. It is a platform to inform, collaborate, interact and exchange ideas amongst the arts and cultural communities across Asia and Europe.

culture360.org is an initiative by Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) and is currently hosted and facilitated by the non-profit Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF).

It hasn’t been brilliant but we don’t have a lot of time to mess around with it. The original installer has vanished and left it 90% working but with us unsure how to do the balance.

There are two parts to this spec: In short term we need to:

1. Disable the multi currency and multi lingual plugins
2. Help edit Home Page and set up 5 categories correctly with images displaying

Then going forwards we need it to work as originally planned. We will consider another plugin other than shopperpress if it works and delivers everything we need.

Blog enabled

Database takes one master product and creates sub skus for different languages/currencies. Ie put all images of one product and other details in one file associated with it. When you switch to another language it uploads OUR translations (not an auto google translate tool or anything like it) and the images from central file.

At the moment every time you switch to another language you have set up an entirely new product.

Need a good ecommerce back end that works properly and is off the shelf as far as possible., exportable to excel. Minimum:

Able to print off delivery notes, invoices and credit notes ready to use on A4
Stock keeping
Full customer email at each stage of transaction.

Look and feel -exactly as it is now but we need to edit the home page to set the categories correctly

It’s mainly a system to create bookmark solution so that when a person visits the site, they can create a bookmark and return to the “page” that they left off. They also have page breaks using shortcode. If you go to the site http://booktrope.com as a regular user, you can create a new user / pw (it’s free) and see how it functions.

We also need a solution to create the new books so it’s easier for anyone to create a new title. There is a format to create the books that guides the user through the setup. (Old site is in Drupal). I’m wondering if we can use the wp plugin “magic fields” to achieve this or maybe integrate pods (another solution that allows for custom forms within wordpress).
