Nokia launched their Lumia 925 smartphone last week which has been praised by most of the tech websites as being another innovative smartphone from Nokia. The device will be launched soon in India as it is being listed on the official Nokia India website with Coming Soon on it.

Nokia Lumia phones are becoming popular in India and are continuously growing in numbers. During the May 14th event in London Jo Harlow, executive vice president of Nokia's smart devices was asked by one of the attendees about Lumia 925's launch in India, to which Jo Harlow said that Nokia will be making an announcement in near future and that the Indian market is important to launch this device. The Indian market has seen much increase in the number of sales of Lumia smartphones in Q1 of 2013. Nokia now has the full range of Lumia devices available in India and we are expecting India to be among the initial markets to get Lumia 925.

Nokia has plans to make Lumia 925 available in Europe and China, followed by the US and then we expect the device to launch in India along with few other markets. Or may be we could see the handset in India sooner than we expect. We hope Lumia 925 will make its way to India before the end of July.

As for the device, we already told our readers that it is the first Lumia phone to feature an aluminium body. It has PureView camera that does awesome when taking pictures or shooting videos in low-light and prevents blur using the Optical Image Stabilization, like in Lumia 920 but with a lot of improvements. The device has a new Nokia Smart Camera feature that takes phone-camera photography to a new level letting you be creative and produce masterpieces with your photos. Specs are similar to Lumia 920 but with a different look and design, and improved camera features.

A recent report on WMPoweruser tells us a lot about the much-rumored Nokia EOS PureView smartphone, which is believed to feature a massive 41-megapixel camera. We told our readers on numerous occasions that Nokia EOS PureView phone will feature the similar PureView tech as in Nokia 808 PureView phone.

The reports add points to previous rumors on Nokia EOS phone and are as follows. The Nokia EOS will have a round lens housing which will not protrude much. It will have a Xenon flash along with a red LED which could be for assistance in focusing. Both the flash and lens housing will be smaller than the Nokia 808 PureView. The lens will have an automatic cover that will be opened when a user will launch the camera app from the phone. It is being said that the details in the report comes from a tipster who actually got hands-on experience of Nokia EOS prototype. The number of megapixel-count was not there and was only marked with XX megapixels on lens housing.

Nokia EOS will debut Nokia Pro Camera app which will have a completely new interface and will also have the option for manual focus. Similar to Lumia 920, Nokia EOS will have AMOLED display with same resolution and same size. It will be made of polycarbonate material and will be as much thicker in the middle as Lumia 920, but tapered ends will give the handset a much slimmer look. The handset will not have wireless charging feature in-built while there will be wireless charging covers that could be clipped on the back of the device to enable wireless charging, as in recently announced Lumia 925.

All the above details gives us a clear picture on what the handset will look like and also gives us a hint that Nokia EOS will not be as odd-looking and bulky as Nokia 808 PureView. We don't know yet when Nokia plans to launch this device, but as recent rumors suggest the handset will be unveiled in July/August timeframe.

Users are delighted to have access to all the YouTube videos via an app released few days before. But a recent letter from Francisco Varela, Director for Global Platform Partnerships at YouTube sent a letter directly to Todd Brix, General Manager for Microsoft Windows Phone Apps and Store asking him to withdraw the app from the Windows Phone Store. A bummer, but its ture!

The YouTube app for Windows Phone 8, as the letter from Varela states violates YouTube's Terms of Service. The letter states that the app allows users to download videos to the phone, prevents the display of advertisements in videos and also plays videos that YouTube partners have restricted to play on certain platforms (e.g., mobile devices with limited feature sets). These things are there indeed in YouTube's Terms of Service. We are afraid that YouTube app for Windows Phone 8 has more chances of being withdrawn from the Windows Phone Store. Existing copies of the app running on devices will also be suspended and will not work after it is withdrawn from the app store.

Content creators on YouTube monetizes their videos to generate revenue by displaying ads in their videos. Preventing the ads from displaying in videos and allowing downloads affects the revenue stream for content creators which Google would never like to happen. So, Varela sent the letter to Microsoft to withdraw the app by May 22nd and also suspend all existing copies of the app running on Windows Phone 8 devices. Microsoft may also make changes to the app removing all things that make the app a violation to YouTube's Terms of Service and we hope they do.

After many rounds of rumors on the web for a couple of weeks, Nokia finally announced their Lumia 925 smartphone that we told you about earlier. So, the rumors turned to be true and the phone is exactly we saw in the leaks. Lumia 925, as revealed today is an extension of Lumia 920 bringing a metal design along with few enhancements in PureView technology along with few new features.

Lumia 925 is the first among the Lumia lineup of phones to feature a metal design. Lumia 925 has an aluminium frame with front panel and polycarbonate back set inside that aluminium frame. The polycarbonate back comes in Black, White and Gray colors, and has three metal contacts for wireless charging. The device does not have in-built wireless charging ability, separate wireless charging covers will be available that can be clipped on back of the phone to make it chargeable wirelessly. These wireless charging shells will be available in Black, Red, White and Yellow colors.

Lumia 925 has a new feature added to it that takes photography to the next level. The camera of the device has Nokia Smart Camera mode which takes 10 shots at once and then gives you ability to edit those photos with a number of options, including Best Shot, Action Shot and Motion Focus. These options allows you to select a best shot from those 10 shots clicked, create a photo showing a series of action after combing multiple shots and focus a moving object. All these functions available from a single app. Nokia Smart Camera will also be rolled out to existing Lumia phones via the Nokia Amber Update.

Hardware specs of Lumia 925 is identical to those of Lumia 920. The handset sports a 4.5-inch WXGA (1,280 x 768 pixels) AMOLED display covered with Gorilla Glass 2. The display has high-brightness mode for high readability even in bright sunlight and the touchscreen is super-sensitive to be operative even when wearing gloves. The device is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 1GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. It features 8.7-megapixel PureView camera with dual-LED flash, along with a front-facing 1.2-megapixel wide-angle camera. It supports standard features of WiFi, Bluetooth, microUSB, USB 2.0, A-GPS, Glonass and also supports NFC and LTE.

Nokia also announced Hipstamatic's Oggl app, that brings all photography enthusiasts together to share their photos with others. Users can also share their photos to Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Foursquare, Tumblr and Instagram via Oggl app.

Nokia Lumia 925 will be available in European markets and China in June, followed by US and other global markets. In Europe, the device will initially be exclusive to Vodafone in UK, Germay, Spain and Italy. Vodafone will also release 32GB version of Lumia 925 smartphone for their customers in Europe while other markets will get only 16GB version of the phone. In China, the phone will be available on China Mobile and China Unicom. In the stateside, Lumia 925 will be exclusive to T-Mobile, availability date will be announced later. The expected price of the device will be around 469 EUR excluding taxes and subsidies.

Wow, somebody pinch me. Yes folks, the Facebook Beta application for Windows Phone has received yet another update.

While there isn't an official changelog this time around, it's reasonable to expect that the update has brought along performance improvements and bug fixes. The only thing we've noticed is that there is now a clear search text-area at the top of the left and right windows.

From the time the event was announced by Nokia we are looking at more and more rumors and leaks about the handset that Nokia may or may not unveil at tomorrow's event. But this time we bring you real update about the next Lumia smartphone. Vodafone UK in one of their latest blog post announced that they will be among first UK-based carriers to offer the next Lumia phone to their customers.

Vodafone UK did not reveal any details on the device that Nokia will launch tomorrow and was tight-lipped. Other than Vodafone, UK-based mobile phone retailer Phones4U started registering customers' interest in the next Lumia smartphone. We did not hear anything from any other carrier or retailer, but we believe that other than Vodafone the device will be offered by leading carriers in the UK, including EE, O2, Orange and T-Mobile.

Now we only have few hours to wait until Nokia unveils their next Lumia phone. Will it be the Nokia Lumia 925, believed to be the official name of the rumored Nokia Catwalk handset? Or will it be Nokia EOS featuring pixel-oversampling of Nokia 808 PureView smartphone? What's your take on this? Share your opinions in comments below.

However, Finnish giant isnt taking it all while lying down as reports from India suggest that the Lumia range is helping Nokia claw back some of the lost marketshare.

Nokia's net sales globally of smart devices almost halved in first quarter ended March 31, 2013 at 6.1 million units compared to 11.9 million units its sold in same quarter a year ago. It saw decline of 8 per cent in volumes on quarterly basis. However, sales of Lumia smartphone rose by 27 per cent during the Q1, 2013 to 5.6 million units. The re-emergence Nokia and growth of sales in India and has attributed to rising wealth in the country and the introduction of Windows Phone Lumia devices that are designed and priced for emerging markets, such as the Lumia 610, 510, 520, 620 and 720. Speaking to the Indian Express, Nokia Chief Executive Officer Stephen Elop said:

In terms of what is happening in Lumia for us in India, the volumes are picking up quite nicely. We got a broader portfolio in the Indian market from (Lumia) 920 to 620 and 520 and so forth. We are very pleased with the pick up we are seeing with those products in India. We also recognised a very large number of people who are more constrained in their ability to spend. I think India is a good example where we have to do both. There are countries around the world where only high end plays, United States is an example.

Elop reiterated that the company will continue to focus on strategy for both high-end and entry-level mobile phones. In India, Nokia Lumia devices range from Rs 9,800 to Rs 36,000.

The device is expected to be unveiled at tomorrow's Nokia Lumia event in London. You will remember that we were first to tell you that Nokia was going to be unveiling a global variant of the well-documented Lumia 928 for Verizon.

The image appears to confirm that the "Catwalk" will indeed feature aluminium casing. Unfortunately, there isn't much one can make out of the image except that the device seems to have a slimmer profile than the Lumia 920. Also, the render doest feature a back elevation so we cannot be sure if this is the same device seen in the teaser adverts (below) that have been shown in UK TV.

A promo on UK television is teasing Nokia's upcoming Lumia phone that will be unveiled tomorrow at their event in London. The TV commercial gives us a look at the camera of the phone that they will unveil tomorrow. This no doubt tells us that the phone will be a yet another camera-centric handset from Nokia, possibly incorporating PureView technology.

As per the rumors suggest, this handset could be the Nokia Lumia 925 codenamed Catwalk that will have Lumia 920-like specs including the same PureView technology featuring best low-light imaging and Optical Image Stabilization. On the other hand, it is said that Nokia will unveil their EOS smartphone that will have PureView tech of Nokia 808 PureView phone featuring pixel-oversampling. Whatever comes out tomorrow at Nokia's event it will surely be incorporating Nokia's PureView technology.

The teaser says "More than your eyes can see" which could mean that the handset will have pixel-oversampling that will bring minutest of details to the picture. The camera of the handset will be slightly mounded with dual-flash above the camera. This looks identical to the camera in the image of Nokia Catwalk/Lumia 925 leaked earlier this year. Nokia Catwalk will have same specs as that of Lumia 920 but will have separate design and an aluminium chassis. Stay tuned to know what Nokia unveils tomorrow in London.
