Welcome to the Writer’s Nook!
My name is Cindy Rushton and I am your hostess here at the Writer’s Nook. I want to personally wish you a very warm welcome! I am so glad you have found us!
Wondering “Just WHAT on earth the Writer’s Nook is all about??”
Great question! I have been writing for 18 years. I am not old, in case you are wondering!
Actually, my earliest memories of writing were when I was two, I just did not consider myself to be a “writer” until that sweet day when my husband’s grandmother challenged me to “write” for our local newspaper. I still remember that uncertainty in my gut. I remember putting my whole heart into that first article. It was a risk. It was a step toward a dream that I had put aside for many, many years due to obstacles and hindrances all along the way.
Writer’s Nook is here to encourage, inspire, and equip you. I want to see you step up to the call to write. I want to see you write for God’s glory. I want to help you overcome the obstacles and hindrances that are blocking you from your dream. My prayer is that we can come alongside of you and make it easy.
So, welcome to YOUR nook! Welcome to the place where you can find friends to walk with you along your journey and help you all along the way. This is YOUR nook–the Writer’s Nook! Enjoy!

Build a Business by Re-purposing Your Content
Re-purposing your content makes good business sense. It’s a good way to squeeze out as much value as possible from your current content. And repurposing also helps your customers by providing fantastic content in a variety of ways. Best of all, you can take a simple idea and build your business from that idea.
Wondering how? It is easy! Recycle. There’s no need to just use great content once. Recycling your content benefits everyone in a way that builds your business while reaching those who learn best by different modalities–visual, auditory, hands-on. A good way to do this is to think about each piece of content and how you can reuse it to the max.
A few ideas may be:
#1 - Take a special download report and use the content for article distribution. The report is only available for download on your website but you can use several articles within the report to distribute to article directories. That content will then work to bring you new subscribers to your site. When they come, you will have visitors who are looking for more of your ideas. Read the story »

Tip of the Week: TIME BOXING!
We all want a better way to manage our time. It is easy for the hours to slip by with only one task disappearing from our list. Perhaps some time management skills are in order.
One useful tool for managing time and getting work done is time boxing. No, there won’t be any violence here. Think of the geometric shape of a box, instead of the ring and fighting gloves.
For some tasks, you might spend five hours completing each one. Did you need five hours or did you spend that time getting it perfect? Between breaks, your mind wandering, and other distractions, you might only have worked half that amount of time on the project. Read the story »
