Michelle of Indie Book Covers has such an elegant touch. I wanted this cover to capture a very particular kind of ominous, regal beauty and she created a richly colored image that breathes like a painting. It was exactly what I was hoping for!

Are you guys excited?

I wanted to provide a more exact release date at this point, but I’m behind on where I want to be for Crest. It’s a big story, bigger than I expected, and one that is deeply entwined with the final book (and end of the series). I’ve been working like crazy, but I clearly had unrealistic expectations on when I’d be able to release it.

I’m shooting for a tentative release of Crest in July/August.

There are a few things coming up that hopefully will make the wait a bit easier. Cover and blurb reveal will happen on this blog on April 17th. I can’t WAIT for you to see the gorgeous cover – Michelle once again did such stunning work! I’m madly in love with it. Please stop by on that date and feel free to share the image below:

Crest is also now on Goodreads (and thank you to whoever set it up!). I’m also planning a bunch of fun things as we get closer to release, including a few behind-the-scenes posts here on the blog. I’ll begin posting teasers on my social media accounts in June/July. Book trailer will premiere a week or two prior to release.

I know you guys are waiting and I apologize if I haven’t responded yet to your messages/emails. Please know I’m working hard to complete the second half of Kendra’s journey the best way I can.

I’m currently working on the first draft of Crest and hope to get through it soon. I’ll keep you updated as I finish each step of the process.

Every writer has his/her own distinct way of working. Although I love the Internet, I find its noise draining, especially when I’m focused on large projects. Given the size and complexity of these last two novels, I need to fiercely guard any spare time I have. I also need to preserve the mental/emotional/creative energy required to complete them.

I’ll pop back online more frequently once I get the work into revisions. In the meantime, please feel free to drop me a line via my website, Facebook, or Twitter. I love hearing from you and I do see your messages. I just may not be able to get back to you as quickly as I’d like because of my schedule.

I had a few updates on what’s happening this month. In addition to Chevalier and Warrior Prince, I’ll also release Volume 1 of the Ondine Quartet series on December 21st. This e-book set will include Whirl, Billow, Chevalier, and Warrior Prince. Basically, it’s half the series in one convenient bundle.

So I wanted to do something fun and easy leading up to the release date. Since it’s the holidays, what better way to celebrate than to do a giveaway? How about six of them?

Five wonderful blogs will each host an Ondine Quartet giveaway (the final blog stop is here). Each blog will select one winner to receive signed Whirl and Billow posters and bookmarks as well as the entire e-book set of Ondine Quartet Volume 1 (Whirl, Billow, Chevalier, and Warrior Prince).

Now. The title of Book Four. I’ve spoken a bit about my thought process behind titles.

Obviously, I don’t want to get into too much detail about books 3 and 4 because they haven’t been released yet. But a few general thoughts:

To me, the word “crest” implies a sense of “no turning back”. A cresting wave continues to build energy, surging forward in one direction – until its inevitable clash with the land (its opposite).

Therefore, it makes a certain kind of sense that the title of the last book in the series is:

BREAKER

A part of me feels strangely melancholic sharing that with you because it does signify the end of the series and Kendra’s journey. But there’s a lot to look forward to before its release. And of course, a lot more to come once the series is done.
