So the sole qualification and deciding factor of electing someone to a public office is that they are a native of the state or district for the office in which they are running?

If the candidate who isn’t a native West Virginian better espouses your views and has a greater grasp of the issues than the native, you would still vote for the native West Virginian merely because he happened to be born within artificial geographic boundaries?

No wonder this state is a mess. The electorate is inept.

It wasn’t until I commented that I noticed the date on this article; I was confused since Plants is running for a different office now in 2008. My apologies (though I *DO* still stand with him).

I’m 100% behind Mark Plants. I believe that, if you’re going to elect someone for a government position for your state, he should actually be FROM your state. And, really, who NEEDS higher taxation? The bloody Personal Property Tax is enough murder on the bank account.

I say there are too many criminals on the streets. we lose innocent citizens on a daily basis because these people are on the streets and not behind bars where they belong. go wrong once shame on you, go wrong twice shame on the system. I know I am tired of the panty waste judges and the slap on the wrist system that we have now a days. what ever happened to the days when the criminal was the one punished and not the innocent citizen?

Hi..from Arizona…
It makes me sad and sick that we teachers can’t even pay for gas to get to school to teach our children. What is wrong with this friggin country???????
We foreclosed….take one car to both (my husband and I ) to work, where I am dropped off at 4:00 in the morning.
I work in a portable with 30 students.
You know…I love these kids….apparently the good have to suffer.

I have seen you on Larry KIng and also rented your documentory SICKO was very impressed with all you have said and done. I as I am sure million’s of American’s also believe that are medical care has got to be changed. I and my family are owner’s of a small Business in Ca. We pay our employee’s medical insurance would like to include thier familie’s but simply can not afford it since insurance has continued to go up each year. We have been in business for 30 year’s and used to include the familie’s in our insurnce package.

My daughter found out that she had lung cancer 2 year’s ago. Being that she was on our emploee plan with Kaiser Permanente she was fully covered. We wanted to change our insuranc to a less expensive plan that our mother company was offering for we are a franchis of a large company but could not do so because she would’nt be accepted beause of her medical problem. Our family continue’s to worry about her not being able to have insurance one day. This should not be the case people should not have to worry about thier health and having medical coverage..please help all American’s to come tpgether and do something I would be more than willing to help. I would go door to door with petition’s. If American’s would come together and we had protestor’s across the nation something would get done. I love the system in France and it all because as you say the goverment is afraid of the peple and American’s are afraid of the goverment. Let’s get together and make a change it is long overdo.

West Virginia has long slept with asps and rattlers for the “benefit” of all.. the logers that stripped our state and polluted our waters, the mining companies that killed our fathers, brothers and uncles and now Table Gambling. As with all things.. they will reap what they sow… as in today’s headlines.. watch to see whom will be first… the line is long but the reconing is longer in coming….look behind Ted Arnault, Edwin Bowman, Tamara Pettit and Mr Delong.. there my people are the true demons.

This is soo sad to hear coming from a mother of a victim. My daughter was molested a year and a half ago. Just recently the man who did this to my daughter had a parole hearing in Charleston. The parole board denied him parole on march 3rd! Stating he was in denile of his actions. Also on March 19 this man got another hearing here in Marshall County in front of Judge Karl. Judge Karl realesed him on probation! This goes to show the wonderful procecuting attorny lets all these child molestors go. In the past year with just a slap on the wrist. Anyone want to do nething about this? I Do! I say we start with the Judicial system here in Marshall County…..

The great State of WV needs a strong Republican leader. Although I did not vote for Doug for governor, I watched from a front row seat, and respect Doug and have learned a great deal about this man. To date he has brought the party back to financal responsibilty, but has also been the leader to all and represents the true party rather than
a personal or family interest we witnessed in our 2004 fiasco. Doug Mckinney has passed the test and is now our party leader, and brought life back into fiscal, financal situation that we can be proud of. Hats off to Doug Mckinney
and our parties future.
