For the first time in at least five years (and probably longer) I left an audition wanting the role. I mean, just longing for it, the way you pine over someone when you're in ninth or tenth grade.

I've felt that before for movies, but the major difference today was that I didn't want to book this job because it would make me money, or make me famous, or anything like that. I want this role (and as of this writing, just after midnight on the day I made the audioblog, I still don't know if I booked it or not) because the people involved are simply incredible. If I got this part, I know that I would be in a movie that I'd be proud of, and I'd get to work with people who are superb. In fact, when I was in the room today, for the first time in almost a decade, I felt like I was in over my head.

I sound almost as tired as I felt. Day Two was even better than Day One. I had a fantastic performance of material from Dancing Barefoot and Just A Geek, and was paid the ultimate compliment when a guy from the audience told me, "You really brought Gene Roddenberry to life for me today. Now I understand why people loved him so much."

In this post, I fulfiill a childhood dream, and "call" the top of the 5th inning. The Dodgers are trailing the D'backs 2-0 at this point in the game, and there's one out as we pick up the action; Finley batting against Jackson, who has given up a lead off walk to the pitcher Webb.

The first few seconds of this are all garbled, so you can't really hear me tell Keith to shut up, but then my stupid cell phone settles down and I do my best "announcer guy" voice.

Duh.
