JC&C Making Big Moves!

As of February 1st, JC&C has closed two of its locations in order to move to newer, more visible, and better ones. The Central Reno Store on Keitzke and Virginia made its last sale on January 31st after 10 years of being in business. While it is sad to see it go, its volume had reduced by 70% from its peak. Surrounding vacancies lead largely to the downturn. Ever since the Good Guys! left, foot traffic has been way down.

The other location to close was in the D’Andrea Marketplace at Vista and Baring in Sparks. This store also had a great run in its five year existence, but big box development in Spanish Springs is luring all the customers in that direction in droves.

So where are the faithful JC&C customers to go? In Reno, we still have our highly visible Northwest Reno location at I-80 and McCarran. It is adjacent to Starbucks at the Sierra Highlands and McCarran intersection.

In Sparks, we still have our location at Pyramid and C Street, right next to In-N-Out. It is also right next to a Starbucks and just off of I-80 for customers’ convenience. This location will also serve as our Corporate Office and house our Business to Business specialists.

Our next new AT&T location will open in Gardnerville on March 2, 2009. It will be located at the corner of 395 and Waterloo, right next to the new DMV. We are very excited to go out to our faithful Garnerville customers who have been forced to drive all the way to Carson for their AT&T needs.

As of April 1st, our Carson City location will move to College Parkway and 395, just off of the new freeway extension. We will be located in front of the Super Walmart on the north end of Carson City. This location will be a huge, state of the art store. For those who are tired of cramped and over-crowded cell phone stores, this will be the ticket!

A little ways down the road, we will be opening in North Valleys between Gold View and Lemmon Dr. This store should open on July 1, 2009. We look forward to serving the AT&T customers in this community as well without making them drive all the way to Reno.

AT&T becomes largest WiFi hotspot

AT&T has recently decided to become the world’s largest WiFi provider! They’ve recently taken the measures needed to achieve that goal. AT&T has spent over $275 million to buy out Wayport, an 11 year old network provider that started out in hotel rooms and eventually developed into a WiFi provider for over 10,000 McDonalds.

By making this move, there will be less pressure on the 3G network, thus providing a more reliable cell phone signal and faster internet speeds.
