We’ve never made a Christmas card before, but once I had the idea of floating scarves and a Tandem bike, it had to happen. And once we found a vintage red Tandem bike with whitewall tires on Craigslist, we were in the car that night driving to a sketchy neighborhood in Hendersonville, hoping we were returning with a bike and some guy wasn’t returning with a 2006 galactic gray mica 4Runner and two naïve, unsuspecting 20-somethings.

With video lights set up in our front yard and scarves hanging from our trees, we got a few photos and lots of strange looks from neighbors we don’t know. One neighbor actually parked, PARKED!, in the middle of the street and rolled her window down to watch. We spent the weekend picking paper and writing copy, and this is what we came up with. While it’s a month late coming to you, it was actually mailed to our friends and family on time! I’m never on time. Wins all around. We printed it on a 7×5 semi-gloss stock.

I’ve known these two for a long time. I’ve seen Jessica sleep on an ironing board, and I’ve traveled around the world with Dave. Although I had known them both for years before they started dating, it’s hard to remember who they were before there was a Dave and Jessica. On a perfect fall day in September, they vowed to be Dave and Jessica forever, just as Jessica may have doodled on her high school notebook when they started dating all those years ago.

Mr. and Mrs. Lasseter, it was an honor to be a part of your day. You’re two fantastic people, and you’re even more fantastic together. Enjoy your new lives together in your new house and in your new job. Much love to you both.

When we were doing portraits, Jessica claimed she didn’t have a sexy face. I beg to differ.

Rabbit! took this summer to highlight people who are finding creative outlets for kids today. The tour, called Rabbit’s Music Stand lasted 48 days, and they played a show in 45 cities in that timeframe. (Tired much, guys?) So thanks to Rabbit, PoPo Cool Kid Stuff and the awesome band from SGRRC Rural Juror (seriously, you know they’re awesome chicks when they’re already making 30 Rock references), we were able to raise a little bit of awareness for those at YEAH (Youth Empowerment through Arts and Humanities). I know this post is a link sandwich of sorts, but I highly recommend you check out all of them. They’re full of great people doing awesome things.

Ahem. Back to my regularly scheduled blog post. I met with Blake and Bekah at Noccalula Falls on a Saturday evening in July. Did I mention earlier that we were in Alabama? We were. And July in Alabama is hot. While Blake and I were sweating profusely, Bekah — eight and a half months pregnant, mind you — was as adorable and dry as she could be. They were troopers through the heat, and crazy names aside, Noccalula Falls does make a pretty backdrop.
