When you get to the market square, you’ll see Mervs Baker and The Marmalade Tree gift shop on the left. If you go up the street that runs between them, you’ll see our building about 100 yards up the road.

We have some parking, but we’re close to the town car parks, and it’s easy to walk or cycle to us.

If you need a disabled space, please ring us and we can reserve one for you, to make sure you can get to us easily.

The sign outside our building says ‘Loving Jesus, Loving People.’ We believe that God has put us in the town centre so that we can reach his people. Our activities are a way of showing his love. whether through Roots Café, Food Bank, sharing our building with local groups, or sending our members out to the community to belong. We also do collections and gather to pray to meet needs abroad, including the Falconer Trust and Tools With a Mission, along with supporting other local and international causes.

We would be happy to discuss our beliefs with you more deeply. In brief, we believe in the sacrament of believers’ baptism, and encourage baptism by immersion for members. Some of our fellowship been formally recognised as part of the fellowship of believers who love and serve who love and serve the God the Creator, his only son our Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit, as affirmed in the Apostles’ Creed.

Roots Community Café is a service provided by Wymondham Baptist Church. We developed the café in September 2017 when we realised that many in our community need a place to go during the day, where they can have a conversation or have a quiet rest away from the pressures of life.

We have designed the café to be fully accessible to the disabled, and we offer plenty of room to park pushchairs, let babies crawl, and allow restless toddlers to roam. Our teas and coffees are all fair trade.

The café is open Mondays and Fridays, 10:00-1:00, and serves hot food, cakes, hot drinks and offers gluten free options. We also have child-friendly options such as boxes of raisins and Pom Bears.

Our volunteers are all part of our church, and are giving their time because they believe in showing God’s love through listening and sharing with the people around us.

Whether you have a free five minutes or a couple of hours spare, why not pop into our spacious child-friendly café for a cuppa and something to eat, and make new friends.

On Sundays we hold a regular worship service at 10:30 am. These services are family-friendly, and relaxed yet reverent.

We have many children amongst us, and people from all walks of life join us to worship each week.

We have groups for children, and a youth group for children from Year 3 meets alternative Friday evenings. Once a month and in the summer we gather together to hold all-age services.
