Some of the old games for Xbox 360 are still the best. The Xbox 360 was launched on MTV on the 12th of May 2005. That unit sold out as soon as it came out virtually everywhere. That model was sold until it was

re-designed with a slimmer console and other features and launched on June 14, 2010. Many of the games that came out during that time have become classic Xbox 360 games.

2005

Forza Motorsports:
Microsoft came out with this racing game and it became a hit right away. The ability to customize the cars was a hot feature. Forza Motorsport is also compatible with Xbox Live for online play. This Xbox 360 old game is still tons of fun to play.

Fight Night 2:
Without a doubt this was the best fighting game in 2005. The player has complete control which made the game much more accurate punching. In Fight Night 2 you know your haymaker will land where you aim.

Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory:
This game came with no alarm or casualty limits for even more fun. All of the gadgets and weapons can be used along with stealth and with no penalty for not being perfect the game was a lot more fun than previous versions. No one can deny that this is an oldie but goodie when it comes to games for the Xbox 360.

2006

Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter:
Looking for an old Xbox 360 shooter game? In this Ubsioft game the player experiences a war in the near-future as a tactical shooter. The cross-com battle system added the element of strategy to the game. This game has exciting movie like moments that will leave you feeling like you are there.

Call of Duty 3:
Upon its release Call of Duty 3 was, without question, one of the best shooter games on the market. The enemies were smarter than before and the multiplayer action was improved from the first two games. There were also more vehicles, additional maps, and the ability to play with more players than before.

Gears of War:
Epic Games released this game in 2006 and it an amazing single player game. It also, however was one of the most popular Xbox Live multiplayer games almost immediately. It overtook Halo 2 as the most played Xbox Live game in record time. It may be an older game for Xbox 360, but it is a good one.

2007

Assassin’s Creed:
Assassin's Creed is next on the list of old games for Xbox 360. The idea of this game is that Desmond Miles was raised by a family of assassins but ran away to lead a normal life as a bartender. He gets kidnapped, however, and his family history is revealed. At this point he has to tap in to ancestral memories to free himself. The player embarks on third party style missions. The game is best played when the player has time to really get involved rather than to rush through it.

Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock:
This version of Guitar Hero came bundled with the game and two wireless guitars. Slash and Tom Morello are both characters that can be played in this game along with traditional avatars. This was the first in the Guitar Hero series that allowed players to play on Xbox Live with multiple players. This old Xbox 360 game is still worth playing.

2008

Grand Theft Auto III:
This third installment of the Grand Theft Auto series had the setting of Liberty City that seemed to be a clone of New York. The game centers around immigrant, Niko Bellic, as he tries to start a new life. This version included more shootouts and the ability to seek cover. Also there was much more player choice in how to complete missions. The game can be played with 16 players online. This old game for Xbox 360 is still a good play choice.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Vegas
This counterterrorism game is set in the close future in the seedier sections of Las Vegas. This game was said to be fairly similar to the first edition, but it was so good that no one cared. There were differences, however. There were new weapons, 13 new multiplayer maps, a new 2-player co-op mode, and a main character that can be customized.

2009

Batman: Arkham Asylum:
This was perhaps a surprise on the most popular lists for 2009. It simply wasn’t expected to be as good as it was. More than just a good Batman game, this is a good old Xbox game. The story, characters, voice acting, were all superb and it’s still a really good game to play.

UFC 2009:
This was the best fighting Xbox game of 2009 and one of the all-time best old Xbox games. The game had a range of fighting styles to give the player lots of possibilities in any given fight. No two fights or two knock-outs ever look the same on this game. Both the visual and auditoria appeal on this game are knock-outs in and of themselves.

2010

Mafia II:
This game picks up right were the first left off. Players are in the mafia world of the 1940’s and 1950’s. The crime family is fiction, but the scenarios and characters seem real. The story better relates to the game than in the first edition. This is one of the fun and action packed old Xbox 360 games .

Halo: Reach:
This was actually a prequel to Halo: Combat Evolved. It follows the Fall of Reach and the death of most of UNSC’s Spartan II forces. The mix of shooting, combat, and grenade launching combined with new squad aspects and better graphics made this better than the original.

It’s always fun to have the newest games. New games provide new challenges, new characters, and new stories to follow. No one can deny the rush of being the first to have the newest. The game is really for serious gamers as it challenges you to play it and mocks you along the way. The enemy bosses can kill players easily, but it makes it more exciting when you kill one of them. Hitman: Absolution:

Hitman: Absolution by Square Enix is another in the Hitman series. In this instalment, the main character, Agent 47, is being hunted by the police and has been forsaken by all those that he previously trusted. Players take on the role of Agent 47 while he is on his most important mission ever. A special feature for this version of the game is called “Contracts Mode.” In this multi-player mode, the players can create challenges for each other. They get to set the target, difficulty level, weapons allowed, time limits, and so on of the contract. Players can earn game currency to buy weapons and other things for Agent 47 to use during the main game. The Contracts Mode really adds an extra level of excitement to this awesome multiplayer X-box game.

Portal 2:

Portal 2 is another one of the best multiplayer Xbox games out there. Electronic Arts released this first person puzzle-platform game in 2011. Types of Xbox: The new 720 – facts and rumors

The total of the types of Xbox is soon to become two. The 720 version, is the Lochness monster of the Internet's gaming chat rooms and blogs. Rumors of specifications, release dates, even the name have
flown around for over a year. Still, while nothing is definite, a few things are certain.

The first and most important one for the folks at Microsoft: This new system looks to be a huge seller. According to reports, searches for the newest Xbox models outpace searches for the Playstation 4 by about 200%.

Of course, without the device in anyone's hands, there is no way to be sure, but here is what seems to be factual:

The Xbox 720 will be much more powerful than the Xbox 360. Some websites are reporting as much as 10 times more powerful. Faster more powerful processing may mean better games, better graphics and, ultimately, a system that might be able to break ground in gaming design and technology.

There may be a Kinect 2.0 being released with the newest type of Xbox. Some of the talk is that a Kinect 2.0 will be built right into the Xbox 720. If it is, the question will be if it will have all the right components to be self-powered and self-standing or if it will be powered through the new Xbox type. If it is through the 720 tower, there is some concern that it might not be as powerful as it might otherwise be.

The new type of Xbox controller may contain a small touchscreen, as well as motion sensitive technology. The touchscreen will allow users to control the games from the Kinect or from the screen. Again, this might push the envelope on the technology. What new and crazy applications could exist if you have a touchscreen in your hand, as well as a game on your television?

Games that have been pre-owned will be unable to play on the new system.

The last and most important question: When will the latest Xbox model be available? No one knows. The Internet has rumors going back as early as the beginning of 2011. It still hasn't been released and there is no official date yet.

And so we all wait for a gaming system with the same level of security as the Manhattan Project; we all sit on the edges of Area 51 waiting for this and new types of Xbox to come in the future.

The expansion pack, of course, goes along with the racing game for Xbox, Forza Horizon released earlier in the year on October 23rd. This version of the game offers a cool musical festival feel. There are all different playgrounds to drive and you can play with your friends on a team or play against them or others online. This was one of the year’s most anticipated releases and praised by users and critics alike.

November brought quite a few Xbox racing games releases like Sega’s Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed developed by Sumo Digital for everyone ages ten and up. One of the really fun things about this game is that the vehicles transform from cars to boats to planes throughout the race as they travel on land, water, and in air. Released five days before that on the 13th was F1 Race Stars developed by Codemasters and rated for everyone. This is a great Formula One racing game for the Xbox 360 with official circuits, teams, and cars, as well as famous drivers. You will find yourself racing through theme parks with excitement. On November 6th, Activision released NASCAR The Game: Inside Line developed by Eutechnyx and also rated for everyone. This game boasts official NASCAR cars, teams, and drivers as you race to win the Sprint Cup Series.

Along with Forza Horizon, another much anticipated Xbox 360 Racing Game was released in October. On the 30th, Electronic Arts released Criterion’s Need For Speed: Most Wanted. The newest edition in this classic series will have you running from the police, racing your friends, and trying to beat your competition while the police are after you the whole time. There are plenty of places to hide and opportunities to earn new vehicles. The critics, as well as users rated this open world game high.

October also saw developer Milestone S.r.l release WRC 3 on the 18th. While critic reviews for this game were mixed, users seemed to enjoy it. The graphics were upgraded and a lot of lighting effects to offer a more realistic experience, were added. Players will also find new weather conditions as well as different terrains to drive on. Users do recommend playing this one with a wheel for the most fun. Earlier in October, Trials of Evolution: Origin of Pain was released by Microsoft Game Studios and developer RedLynx. This newest in the popular series boasts new editor objects, a new BMX bike to race (a first for this game), and 36 new tracks to race on. The game is rated for teens and up and was well received by critics and fans alike.

September only had one new racing game for the Xbox 360 in developer, Codemasters’ mid-month release of F1 2012. This Formula One game features the 2012 World Championship race and of course Formula One official cars, circuits, drivers, and teams. This game was rated for Everyone and popular, as well.

With those September through December releases being only half of the games released in 2012, there are plenty of opportunities to test your skills. This year was a great year for the release of the top Xbox games for 2012. There were many excellent game releases which make it kind of hard to come up with a list of 10, 15 or even 25 top games for the
year. Many of the Xbox games that came out were sequels of first, second and even up to fourth or fifth in the series.

The first in the series of the Prototype games was fun to play but the graphics were not that good and the storyline really had no point to it. However, in the sequel, Prototype 2, there are enhanced graphics, exciting game play and a suspenseful storyline.

Street Fighter, one of the best Xbox games in 2012, was one of the most anticipated fighting games to hit the market this year. The game incorporates a combo system consisting of six buttons which the player can use for various fighting moves.

Dragons Dogma game is a Western role-playing game that is set in medieval fantasy times. Dragons Dogma is a single player game that has the elements of sorcery and standardized swords.

Ghost Recon was a huge hit when it first came out so it was no surprise that ghost Recon: Future Soldier was going to be just as big when it was released in March of 2012. The 4th installment of the Ghost Recon series was hugely anticipated.

Kingdoms of Amalur: The Reckoning became one of the top Xbox games for 2012. This game allows players to create their own character adapted to their play style and may even customize the character's own class.

Over the last few months there have been many great new Xbox games released. This list will give you a great idea of which games you can look forward to playing and maybe purchasing in the near future.

1. Halo Reach:
Exceptional in nearly every way and packed with features and content halo reach is the complete package! It represents the evolutionary pinnacle of the series. Whether it is the expertly tuned combat or the expansive level design all the pillars of halos success are in top form in this game!

2. Mass Effect 3:
Mass Effect 3, a game with high expectations that has lived up to the hype. It is a straight action RPG which unlike the ones that came before it is primarily a role-playing game.

3. Portal 2:
This is a game that will make you use your mind to solve portal puzzles in order to get to the
next levels of the game. The idea of using portals to get around is very unique to this game and it can get very interesting at times!

4. Red Dead Redemption:
Red dead redemption puts you in the shoes of John Marshall as he tries to leave his past as an outlaw while completing missions. It’s one of the best first player new Xbox games out in the market today!

5. The Orange Box:
This marked the release of the Half Life 2 game for the Xbox 360. It’s a great value for multiple games including: Two episodes of Half Life 2, Team Fortress 2, and a game called Portal!

8. The Elder Scroll V: Skyrim:
Words cannot describe the fun that I had while playing this game. The creators redefined the game Oblivion’s interface such as the controls, dialogue, controls, and pretty much created a new game that can only be classified as a work of art!

9. Batman: Arkham City:
It’s a game that was beautifully constructed in order to tell the stories of Batman. It’s a great adventure game that I would recommend for anyone DC Comics fan or not!

10. The Last game on our list of new games released for the Xbox: Mirror’s Edge. The game is played from a first person perspective with many great missions like trying to complete levels without the use of guns. Running across rooftops whilst navigating the world while only using your feet and mind really immerses you in game completely and you may even forget that it is a game at times! Xbox Types: The Evolution of the Xbox 360

Of the various Xbox types that exist, the 360 version is considered to be the seventh generation of video
game consoles and comes as many different kinds of Xbox. The evolution of the Xbox 360 started in 2007 and is forecasted to continue through 2015. There have been a number of different models that have come and gone including the Xbox 360 Premium (both 20GB and 60GB), the 360 Core, 360 Arcade, 360 Elite, 360 special editions, and recently the 360 S 4GB, the 360 250GB, and 320GB versions.

Aside from all of the various types, there are also the various bundles that have been released. It seems like every Holiday season there is a different bundle that highlights a special edition of the 360. This season is no different as they released the Halo 4 Bundle which includes a specialty painted console, 2 painted wireless controllers and of course a copy of the game. Previous bundles included the Xbox 360 Arcade, and the Holiday bundles, which just give additional controllers and additional games.

The Xbox types that have been mentioned are just the types that have been officially released by Microsoft. There are also a number of un-official bundles, mods, and paint jobs that avid fans can indulge in and enjoy. These include but are not limited to gold controllers, see-thru cases, and different colored glowing rings for the console.

Along with the various types of Xbox that have come through there has also been a major add-on that is truly a revolution in the gaming industry. It is called the Xbox Kinect and using a camera it turns your body movement into the controls for the games. The Kinect version is truly the next generation of gaming, as it doesn't require the use of a controller at all and has similar recognition to the Wii. With this technology it makes for an awesome tactical experience as you jump and kick in real life and it gets translated into movement in the game. Xbox has also teamed up with Nike+ and integrated a training bundle which uses the technology to help people meet their fitness goals.

There are many options when looking at the different kinds of the Xbox and there will be many more released in the future. As of right now the developers say that they are mid-life with the device and if we take the number of Xbox kinds that have already been released as an indication of what they are going to be making, there are still many Xbox types to come.
