<p>Social sites are very easy to find as there are so many on the web now. The sequence to use when looking for suitable sites is as follows.</p>
<ol>
<li>The first step, as always, is to search Google.</li>
<li>Make sure you include DOFOLLOW in the search phrase.</li>
<li>When you find a DoFollow site, check its <a href="http://www.101internetanswers.com/navigation/advertisingandpr.html"  class="alinks_links" onclick="return alinks_click(this);" title="Advertising And PR"  rel="external">PR</a> (PageRank).</li>
</ol>
<h2>Google Page Rank</h2>
<p>Without going into huge detail and boring  you to sleep, the higher the Google PR (meaning a site that impresses them with their content, number of visitors a day, how well it is built, how well it functions and many other factors that change all the time) the more valuable the backlink is perceived to be.</p>
<p>PR is scored from 0-10 with ten being the highest quality in Google&#8217;s opinion. The higher a site&#8217;s PR the more authority it has, basicly meaning that Google trusts the site and therefore has ranked them accordingly.</p>
<p>PR is not something that can be earned overnight and getting a PR10 is near on impossible. It would take you and I a whole lifetime without guarantee of even getting PR1.</p>
<p>So if you get your link on high page-ranked sites Google will see your link and say lets check it out and give them some notice, (because you have your link on a trusted site). That&#8217;s why when I say get your link on high PR sites you can understand the massive importance of this.</p>
<h2>DoFollow And NoFollow</h2>
<p>Next the difference between DOfollow and NOfollow. A site that is &#8216;dofollow&#8217; will allow Google to follow the links on its site back to the site they come from with the authority that Google has given them.</p>
<p>A &#8216;nofollow&#8217; site, on the other hand, means it has a &#8216;nofollow&#8217; meta tag that will not let Google trace the link back to your site, and really it&#8217;s a waste of time you having your link there. That&#8217;s why you must only use dofollow social bookmarking sites.</p>
<h2>Simple Timesavers</h2>
<p>I have used so many bookmarking sites and wasted so much time finding ways to make this easy that I would like to share a couple of simple time savers with you.</p>
<ol>
<li>If you need to find the PR of a social bookmarking site, I recommend using hypestat.com. It is 100% free to use and all you do is put in the full URL and the details of the site will show up. This is how I check all sites for info or PR, earnings, keywords etc.</li>
<li>Probably the most helpful thing I can give you is the list that I use:</li>

The existing social networking sites all allow sharing of content between two or more users.</p>
<p>According to some though, these sites are too restrictive in that they restrict their users with limitations. In other words, they are not all flexible. This decade-old practice came to an end last week, when McDonald decided to opt for an online subscription that was much cheaper than the print version. McDonald is not the only such subscriber; he, like scores of other subscribers, is displaying traits that have awakened publishers from the comfort zones of their huge subscriber bases. The reasons are simple: readers can now get the same information online in a much faster way, in greater depth and more importantly with &#8216;interactivity&#8217;, served by the humble but ubiquitous link.</p>
<h2>Studies Will Show&#8230;</h2>
<p>A Pew Research Center study confirms this trend. For instance, the study notices that a decade ago just one in fifty Americans got news with some regularity from what was then a brand new source, the Internet. Today, nearly a full third of this audience regularly get news online. More recently, in November 2007, the Audit Bureau of Circulation, an independent organization that monitors the newspaper industry in the US, reported that the average daily paid newspaper circulation had declined 2.6 percent in the six months that ended September 30, compared with the previous year.</p>
<p>Smart publishers who have seen their audience base decline significantly are now aiming to reverse their losses with the help of online editions. As publishers say, &#8220;Pixel space is definitely more profitable than paper&#8221;. While the debate about the future of print publishing will continue to rage on, it is perhaps important to ponder that the value of content has not diminished; consumers still expect the same, or perhaps even better, content. <p>I want to tell you something. I hate Web Promotion. I hate it more than you do, and always have. Web promotion is all about getting links and traffic to sites. You can build a million quality sites but with no proper web promotion, you will never see money coming in. Most web promotion tactics have one thing in common: trying to rank high in search engines results. In the old days, I loved to submit my sites to hundreds of link directories. It worked like magic until the search engines changed their algorithms. Then the next big thing was Blog and Ping. It was one of the most powerful web promotion systems available. I could easily get my pages indexed in a couple of hours and rank high in search engines. But once again, the search engines saw this coming and as a result it is now very difficult to rank one&#8217;s websites on search engines, based on Blog and Ping. Article submission is one of the methods I used. However, although it is still a very effective traffic generating tactic, it is also very time consuming. I spent thousands on <a href="http://www.101internetanswers.com/navigation/searchstrategies.html"  class="alinks_links" onclick="return alinks_click(this);" title="Search Engine Optimisation"  rel="external">SEO</a> tools and even hired an SEO expert. I spent hours doing Search Engine Optimization onsite and off. I did see some traffic now and then but the figures were not something i am proud of. I was at the mercy of the search engines and was spending more time and money than I could earn!</p>

<p>The explanation is a rather interesting but complicated one. Web 2.0, in its simplest terms, means any website that in some way gets content or services from its users. Virtually every website, except for static webpages, benefit from Web 2.0 inputs or manipulation and with the addition of Google&#8217;s Sidewiki, even static websites can show benefit from Web 2.0 technologies. Web 2.0 technologies include the ability to make comments, do reviews, post URLs, send emails concerning the site and a variety of other social interactions. At its most complex, it means total information sharing and awareness through a variety of means: forums, blogs, newsletter subscription forms, email forms, order forms, website store applications, testimonial boxes, guest books, RSS feed, widgets full of related content and 24 hour live customer service applets, all working together to help your company connect with the consumer in the most meaningful and profitable way.</p>
<h2>Benefits of Web 2.0</h2>
<p>Web 2.0 is highly beneficial to organisations because of the social nature of the technologies involved. The ability of consumers to discuss a product or service between themselves, with company-added content seeded in amongst the conversations, can create spontaneous or even &#8216;viral&#8217; buzz that can greatly benefit a corporation&#8217;s promotional efforts including their branding efforts. Web 2.0 technologies can also make it easier for a company to communicate with its fans from a centralised location that allows for input from the consumer. Websites such as MySpace and Facebook are social networking sites. They both use Web 2.0 technologies to connect groups of people together for business and non-business purposes. Websites such as Digg and Reddit provide a social news experience unlike anything in the history of content presentation where consumer activity determines what most people who visit the site see on the main page. Work related sites such as LinkedIn are primarily used for work-related informational sharing and as networking sites. Search engines such as Google use Web 2.0 services to improve their search results by allowing searchers to determine the type of searches that come up first and then use this data to fine tune their ranking of relevant content.</p>
<p>Properly presented Web 2.0 technologies can be a dream come true for companies and individuals. Never in the history of capitalism has it been easier for your fans to boast about you if they like your product or service. Likewise, if they dislike your products, it is equally easy for them to display anger and dissatisfaction with you and your company. With the widespread use of ready-to-type blog services, people can log in and write a negative review about you or your company in five minutes that will probably be impossible to remove from the Web even if the person who wrote it voluntarily removes it.</p>
<p>These risks should not deter anyone from the use of Web 2.0 technologies as a means of improving their offerings on the Web because with so many companies providing them you would be putting yourself at a disadvantage by not utilising them. If negative reviews become a problem the simplest way of handling them is to contact the writer and ask them what it will take to get rid of the negative review and turn it into a positive one. While it may sound like giving in to blackmail, Web 2.0 technologies have given the consumer a power they have never had before and the best option for a company or individual is to go back to a forgotten rule of business that says the customer is always right.</p>
<h2>Implementing Web 2.0</h2>
<p>If your IT staff is not up to date on the latest Internet technologies you should probably hire someone to train them in all aspects of Web 2.0 and how to use it to benefit your particular business or situation. Web 2.0 is all about bringing the customer and the business closer together. Whatever is appropriate for your website will be beneficial, ranging from a forum or blog, to an email harvesting application connected to an automated newsletter service.</p>
<p>The Internet was created as a means of communication and Web 2.0 technologies are giving us an increasingly large number of means to communicate. Given that fact, it is clear that the Web is becoming increasingly interconnected and Web 2.0 technologies are at the forefront in achieving this.</p>
