“3D printing” has been around as a term since 1995 but versions of the technology go back to the early 1980s. So why is there so much of a buzz around 3D printing now? We asked designer, public speaker and CEO of fabsie.com, James McBennett, to give us his take on the future of manufacturing and his hopes for his new company. We went to listen to James speak at Google Campus in January. His introduction to the history of 3D printing was very comprehensive and his prezzie can be seen here: Introduction to 3D. We caught up with Keith Teare, just.me Founder and CEO, when he recently visited London. Xube.tv asked him about just.me, his new social messaging app, and why he thinks understanding the unique power of mobile technology is fundamental to creating powerful communication tools in a competitive marketplace. This is the first video produced for Xube.tv. Our aim is to produce short films and interview pieces around subjects that grab our attention. At the moment we are going to stay in the technology and education sphere but with the possibilities of expanding the subject range at a later date. Please let us know what you think of them.
