Hunt for a good beginner keyboard

I decided I should learn playing keyboard. It’s not that i’m a total beginner, I do have some experience playing the basic chords (which I happened to learn when I was around 12). Sadly I had to stop because my old keyboard (it was a Casio SA-35) borked half-a-decade ago..

I wanted my new keyboard to cost less than 15,000.. Mainly because I didn’t want to spend on a uber high end one and I don’t really have any faith in myself. Touch-response, 5+ Octaves, MIDI/USB support and Split mode are my most sought after features.

The contenders were:

Yamaha PSR-E323
Yamaha PSR-E413
Casio CTK-3000
Casio CTK-4000

I’m planning to get the “new” Yamaha PSR-E323, Costs 10,500 and comes with a Stand, Bag and Power Adapter as a package.. Has pretty much all the features I need.

…and now to find and collect some good beginner lessons and piano sheets. I’ll probably start with classical first.

Edit: It’s been nearly 12 Hours and only ONE comment. Seems like I have no readers either… Maybe I should just turn my site into a homepage with blog in a separate directory. Good thing I had added /weblog/ to the permalinks… It makes it easier to shift without affecting (most of) the Google links.

(also gives me a chance to re-learn my HTML/CSS/PHP skills)

Waiting for updates to my blog? I daresay you will keep waiting for atleast couple of months. >_>

I’ve more-or-less stopped updating any of my online profiles OR posting at forums.. (also implies that I’ve stopped lurking too)

I do try to read some geek news everytime I _do_ come online (Google Reader FTW!)

…and I (still) try to catch up on my weekly anime fix. (Just in case you’re wondering what I’m watching this season: Bakemonogatari, Aoi Hana, Sora no Manimani, NEEDLESS, CANAAN, Spice and Wolf II, Tokyo Magnitude 8.0)

but WHATever.. >_<

Edit: Also forgot to mention I _was_ playing a free MMO called Rappelz with my friends. Got boring and I had some better work to do, so quit it. It was pretty good while it lasted if you ask me. >_>

Gurren Lagann Movie: Guren-Hen

Just finished watching the Gurren Lagann Movie, I was literally like ‘OMGWTFBBQ!’

You can call it a ’summarized’ version of Episodes 1 to 14 of the anime series, But with nearly 20mins of new footage.. (total movie lenght: 112mins, with a never-before-seen, different “combined boss mecha” at the end of the movie). The editing is PERFECT and the story flow is just awesome, It’s a must watch even if you haven’t seen the original anime series!

(And I have an exam tomorrow.. *facepalm*)

Katawa Shoujo Preview

Just finished ‘playing’ the demo for the Visual Novel, Katawa Shoujo. It was pretty impressive I must say! The scenario is well laid out and the character designs are pretty OK too..
