I second your frustrations with iPage. Thank you for your well documented complaint! They are great until something goes wrong, and something always goes wrong. I even paid for the premium support and got nowhere. My ecommerce site has been down for 5 days. Their tech folks are pathetic and besides patronizing comments like , “I understand your frustration but there’s nothing we can do. Call back tomorrow,” they are useless.

The recipe = 6 oz for over $12 (the cost isn’t listed for one ingredient), so it does not “cost less than a 16 oz jar for $18; 16 oz of the homemade version would cost over $36!!!

I’m making this for dinner (and leftovers, chili freezes so well!) right now with my MIL’s amazing cornbread recipe (1 cup flour + 1 cup cornmeal + 1/2 cup sugar + 3.5tsp baking powder + 1/3 cup oil + 1 egg + 1 cup milk… mix, oil pan, cook at 400 for 20-30 minutes: MIL swears by 20 minutes, but it takes 30 in my oven). I’ve finely chopped the veggies as my husband/eldest kiddo don’t like ‘chunky’ veggies much. It smells amazing! Thanks for posting the recipe!

I used to run a UNIX based Power Server.. As technology evolved I decided to try a cpanel company which charged me $50.00 a month. It was stable. Then one day I discovered Hostgator and moved ALL of my clients on Hostgator. A decision I have never regretted. What few issues I have had were resolved usually on the fly and at very latest a couple hours later. They have 24/7 LIVE Tech support by phone or chat box. You pick. I am here because someone I know is having issues with iPage. From what I can tell they need to vote with their feet.

Mesh for PC has never given me issues. The Mac version has given me quite the headache. I’ve had just about every error you’ve had except the crashing. I’m running Mesh on two PCs and three Macs. After upgrading to Lion I had to uninstall Mesh from all devices, kill the cloud folders, and then start from scratch. Hardly the ease of Dropbox or SugarSync, but I still use Mesh because I can bypass the cloud.

I tried installing WL Mesh on a new Mac running Lion 10.7.3, a fresh install. I get several kinds of errors, including 1a) one file is always “waiting to receive”, a file that is not open and hasn’t changed since last year and it says this even after I manually copy this file over, 1b) system crashes when I try to unsync this folder and then the device status is unavailable, 2a) another folder is “processing changes” forever, even after leaving it running overnight, and 2b) device status shows the computer offline after it starts processing changes.

I tried your method to reinstall but it doesn’t work. I think WL Mesh is pretty crappy. I have used it since it was FolderShare and upgraded to a new computer hoping to keep the same sync going but it has failed me. It failed me before on my previous computer but I was able to fix it using a variation of the method you describe above. But now with the latest gear it just doesn’t work. Why does this get worse with every new version??

Your call. I use Hostgator after bad experiences with iPage and Hostmonster. I’ve heard Blue Host is good, but I cannot speak first hand about them.

Thanks for the help – worked for me. I also found that you run into less problems if you initially sync folders one by one, wait for the folder to display “Up to date” before moving on to the next one.

Still nothing. All signs point to being able to access the contents via Terminal. I’ve been able to drag the folder from Finder into Terminal and see the hidden folders that way, but since you’ve already tried that w/o luck I’m stumped.

I use this app as well and really like it a lot. I don’t use it so much to lose weight but to make sure I am eating enough. I hover right around 155 lbs and don’t really want to stay around that weight. Since I run 60+ miles a week I burn a ton of calories and this app helps me make sure I am eating enough.

I love Scrabble. I’ve been playing it since I was little. Played against a family that showed no mercy to someone much younger. I learned big words. I’ve learned how to make words. But some of the words that I see on the Words With Friends board are crazy. Not to mention I’ve had folks bingo in multiple consecutive turns. It’s frustrating, but the bright side, I learn from their cheating.

Open up the library folder in finder. Make sure that Application Support is in there. Next, open up terminal. Type ls (that’s L and S with a space after) and drag the Applications Support folder from your finder window into terminal. Do you see Live ID/ Do you see WLMesh? If so, type cd (C and D with a space after) and drag the Applications Support folder from your finder window into terminal. Then proceed to the the next step (which is rm -rf “Live ID”)

The next step would be to try and install Live Mesh over your current install and then remove it. (my list is running short).

I have been playing Scrabble for over 15 years. Yes, I carry around a small travel Scrabble and I own the deluxe version (wheels and all).

I play with my husband and daughters but my mentor and greatest competitor would be my best friend. While we don’t live close and were busy with life, we’ve turned to the Scrabble App., to play eachother.

I usually have 8 to 10 games going at one time, to quench my thirst for knowledge and because I love competition.But I realized, there’s some cheaters and schemers, who are playing Scrabble out there!?

Initially, it boggled my pea-brain, I could not understand why anyone would cheat at Scrabble? Then it dawned on me, some people are just not that bright and winning is better than losing, when in real life, they’d get killed on a Scrabble board.

A few things raise red flags for me, when playing a possible cheat;

1. They start the game off to the left, which is a good tactic but to keep an even board, I have always tried to start from the center of the board.

2. They quickly come up with off the wall words, which are not used in everyday language. (I know there’s words out there us Scrabble players have learned throughout time, but come on, not every word!)

3. Checkout their player profile, if they’ve got oodles of wins and very few few losses, they might be cheating.

4. If their winning score is consistantly over 450. If they’ve beat you by more than 100 points, more than once (including rematches), then you’re either playing with a rocket scientist or a brain surgeon…..

I still play with my best friend from our phones and we’re still playing games within a 5 to 10 point difference.

Za, Xi, Zap to the cheaters, go play Tetris or something, quit wasting our time!

Dropbox is a great alternate. I use it. Very easy and quite fast. And, it’s connected to just about everything I do on my mobile device. For this reason, I use Mesh to share folders that exceed my allotted Dropbox space constraints. When using Mesh, you sync directly between computers there are no such constraints.

I am moving across from iPage to BlueHost. I have, since September had http://www.wocky.me hosted with iPage. I have had more difficulties with iPage than than any other – EVER. Must be well over 40 tickets since mid-december 2011 to now. The support is pathetic. The responses are generic and they do f–kall to help you. I get timeouts on accessing my site and they keep blaming my database in wordpress. They guys have not got a f–king clue. I even had one techie say he replicated the issue and then the very next support response was a generic – PLEASE TAKE A SCREENSHOT. How the f–k you capture a screen not loading? “Waiting for wocky.me” to respond just sits there for 50seconds or just times out. Bunch of goddam morons.

I would have to agree with justhost until recent. Since they got new servers and new support company, my account has gotten better. I only have one account with them, but I have some with other companies.

One thing I recommend is carefully read the Terms of Service for any hosting company you are thinking of using. Be sure and ask them if there is a part that isn’t clear, or seems like double speak. Every hosting I have has some disclaimers about performance, even if they say there are a few unlimited items.

I’d love to afford dedicated server space. I’ve hosted my site at home but the cost to do so was too much. And getting a dedicated server from a webhosting service like Bluehost, Hostgator, JustHost, etc is costly. So, I get what I pay for.

All shared hosting sucks. Bluehost is the one that fills the web with “domain over quota” messages bearing their logo despite advertising unlimited everything. Hostgator’s only marginally better. Everyone offers unlimited everything while thousands of websites share the very limited resources actually available on any server. How can you expect more than what you’ve actually gotten, no matter where you go? No company can deny the laws of physics — buying into the claims that they can makes you a sucker.

This very website you’ve published your lambasting of Justhost and spam for Hostgator on was down for several minutes because it can’t handle the load of being linked to from Hacker News. I had to refresh for 10 minutes to read it and comment.

If you want reliable hosting where you actually get what you pay for, then you need to learn the basics of configuring a server yourself, and buy a VPS of your own.

I’ve been with Justhost for a few years now and they are awful.
When I finish developing my current project I’ll be switching it to another host.
If you want to read a funny dialogue I had with there support team here a look at this:

I have a conversation with them before where they basically told me the server was down and they didn’t know why and they didn’t know when it would be back up but it could be a couple of hours. I think it was down for about 6 hours in the end.
If you’re hosting anything important then stay away from this company.
