This is a message from Yardley Borough:

Due to the predicted significant snow arriving tonight Thursday February 25 and and tomorrow Friday February 26, 2010 all residents are requested to remove vehicles and trailers from Borough streets by 11pm this evening. This parking restriction is in effect until 12 noon Saturday February 27, 2010. Alternate parking is available in Buttonwood Park, which is patrolled by the Yardley Borough Police Department. Yardley Borough Police will enforce this emergency measure by way of issuing citations or towing.

Also, a wind advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service, please be aware of where you park and walk to your car.

Everyone is reminded to exercise caution while shoveling snow so aas not to risk injury or worse. Yardley Borough does however enforce the requirement to have sidewalks cleared of snow and ice within 18 hours of the storms’ passing.

LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP BUCKS COUNTY
SNOW EMERGENCY
In anticipation of the upcoming snow storm Lower Makefield Township has declared a snow
emergency effective February 25th, 2010, starting at 9:00 pm.

* Per Township Code 190-5, we require all residents to remove your vehicle from the street
during a snowstorm in order to facilitate safe and effective snow plowing, within 2 hours of
the start of the snowfall and until 48 hours afterwards.

* During the emergency, please do not unnecessarily operate your vehicles.

* Avoid calling police officers or other municipal employees during the storm unless it is an
emergency.

* Please be considerate and do not shovel or plow the snow from your driveway or sidewalk
into the street.

* Sidewalk shoveling should be completed after the snow has stopped.

* Place trash cans and recycling containers so as not to interfere with snow plows or salt
trucks. The Township will not replace them.

* Clear snow from around fire hydrants and your homes exit doors.

* Remove snow to keep open the storm water inlet near your property- keeping it open will
prevent flooding and icing conditions on the street and surrounding properties.

* Please check the Township Website (www.lmt.org),and township channel for other
information.

* If Emergency Shelters are needed, they will be set up at William Penn Middle School
on Derbyshire Rd off of Big Oak Rd.

The Township Emergency Operations Center will be in operation at 1100 Edgewood

I finally picked up a new camera and decided to take a walk to try it out… I found myself in the woods near the old Scammel house and decided to see if I could get closest enough for some more photos. As I approached from the side of the property, I snapped a few pictures and noticed a sign on the door. My heart sunk as I got close enough to read it…

“Could you please give me a freakin break? I live here and wouldn’t do this to your house.” – Don

He leaves a telephone number – but I’ve intentionally blurred that out.

It’s not clear to me if Don is referring to the broken out window pane of the door, some of the other visible random damage – or to me. Here I am invading his privacy… sorry Don. Your house holds a great deal of intrigue for folks in the area. Well – that’s the last photo I take of the property. Honestly, I probably should not have published this – but I’m thinking it does more good to let folks know that someone actually lives there and obviously wants privacy.
