Here is the GPS track in Google Earth of our paddle trip today. This is Knox Lake. It’s just a little way north of us. Very shallow with lots of tree stumps in it.

There is a little island that we paddled around that had a bunch of nesting Great Blue Herons.

So lots of fun even with the with the colder weather and threat of rain. WOOT!

Just hanging out at the hotel tonight. We’ve been here for a few days and have a couple days left. Fun vacation, but we are so sore we can’t move anymore. I can’t remember what it’s like for my feet not to throb. We have taken about 3 billion pictures. Too busy to mess with uploading right now. So here are the few we I have uploaded….

Random Bavarian (?) man was walking across the street and we were trying to get his picture when his son (or at least someone with him) told us to stand with him and he’d take our picture. So here you go….

Just finishing things up with some creepy. At the FDR Memorial is a wall covered in this kind of stuff. I have no idea why. It’s defiantly creepy tho.

That is the big Fuggles plant that I have.

So fun time playing with an old camera. We’ll be taking a vacation to DC in a couple weeks so it should be crazy picture time when that happens. :)

We decided to do a big dinner today. Ok Jacki thought of it, but I agreed it was good idea. So the Irish St. Patty’s day dinner was organized. Beer bread from this recipe is really good. I used Brooklyn Brewery’s Black Chocolate Stout instead of Guinness. Mostly just because that’s what I had. Check it….

The rest of the meal is corned beef, cabbage, and baked potato. Really freaking good meal and really not all that hard to make.

We didn’t really have anything Irish to drink so we went with the New Glarus Wisconsin Belgian Red. It went really well with the meal.

Oh and the dogs had a good time in the yard while Katie was here. They chewed and chewed on their sticks.

I don’t think this stuff has ever been use. The batteries even still had tape over them. The box showed as being packed in 1971, but the books are all from the early to mid 60’s.
