ملتان میں میڈیا سے بات کرتے ہوئے وزیرمملکت عابد شیر علی نے کہا کہ (ن)لیگ شفاف انتخابات کی سب سے زیادہ خواہش مند ہے جس کے لئے تحریک انصاف سمیت تمام سیاسی جماعتوں سے تعاون کے لئے تیار ہیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ طاہرالقادری کے قدم واپس کینیڈا کی طرف جائیں گے جبکہ ان کا پارلیمنٹ میں بھی کوئی وجود نہیں لہٰذا وہ کینیڈا جاکر اعتکاف میں بیٹھیں۔

عابد شیر علی نے کہا کہ چوہدری برادران اور شیخ رشید کے ساتھ انقلاب کی باتیں گناہ کبیرہ ہیں جبکہ عمران خان بھی کہتے تھے کہ شیخ رشید کو تو وہ اپنا منشی بھی نہ رکھیں لیکن اب وہ ان کے لئے بہت عزیزہوگئے ہیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ کراچی میں بیلٹ باکس جلائے گئے اور تحریک انصاف کے کارکنوں کو بھی قتل کیا گیا لیکن وہاں عمران خان کچھ نہیں بولے، ایک سوال کے جواب میں عابد شیر علی کا کہنا تھا کہ پارٹی میں کوئی اختلاف نہیں اور چوہدری نثار علی سمیت پارٹی کے تمام ارکان وزیراعظم نوازشریف کی قیادت پرمتفق ہیں

افریقی ملک برونڈی کے عوام میں ہفتے کے روز جاگنگ کی روایت صدیوں سے رائج ہے لیکن کچجھ عرصے سے یہ روایت تنازعے کی شکل اختیار کرچکی ہے کیونکہ ملک کے سربراہ کو اس بات خوف پیدا ہوگیا ہے کہ حزب اختلاف کی جماعتیں اس روایت کے ذریعے ان کی حکومت کے خلاف سازشیں کررہی ہیں، جس کے سد باب کے لئے ملک میں قانون نافذ کردیا گیا ہے کہ لوگو جتھوں کی شکل میں ہفتے کی روایتی چہل قدمی نہیں کریں گے اور اگر کوئی ایسا کرتا ہوا پایا گیا تو اسےاپنی زندگی کے دیگر روز و شب قید خانے میں بسر کرنا پڑیں گے۔

واضح رہے کہ برونڈی کئی برسوں سے خانہ جنگی کا شکار رہا ہے جس کی وجہ سے یہ ملک افغانستان کے بعد دنیا کا دوسرا مملک ہے جہاں کے بچے سب سے زیادہ غذائی قلت کا شکار ہیں

ڈاکٹر عامر لیاقت حسین نے کہا کہ چینل بدل لینا برا وقت آنے پر چھوڑ دینا اور اپنی الگ راہ لے کر چلے جانے جیسے ایسے کئی سوالات پریشان اذہان کو خودبخود جوابات بھی دے دیتے ہیں اور لوکل میڈیا پر دانشورانہ تبصروں کے انبار لگ جاتے ہیں۔ ان کا کہنا تھا کہ ہمیں پیسے سے خریدا نہیں جاسکتا ہم فقیر لوگ ہیں جبکہ چینل لوگوں سے رابطے اور واسطے کا ذریعہ ہے ،عوام سے کچھ کہنے کا مناسب راستہ ہے۔ ان کا کہنا تھا کہ رمضان میں نشریات کرنے کے نہ کبھی پیسے لیے اور نہ لوں گا،رمضان میں نشریات کے لئے اپنی قیمت لگانے کو ایسا سمجھتا ہوں جیسے جییتے جی اپنی قبر کے لئے آگ خریدنے جارہا ہوں،مجھے اس ملک کی محبت اللہ اور اس کے رسولﷺ کی محبت نے بہت کچھ دیا اور میری چاہت صرف اللہ کی رضا ہے۔

صدر ایکسپریس میڈیا کا کہنا تھا کہ برا وقت کوئی نہیں ہوتا اور ہمارے اعمال کے سبب جو وقت گزرتا نہیں ہم اسے برا وقت کہہ دیتے ہیں جبکہ ہم کسی آسمانی آفت کا شکار نہیں ہوئے بلکہ جو کچھ ہوا ہم اس کے خود ذمہ دار ہیں اور اسے خود ہی بھگت رہے ہیں لیکن ہمیں یقین ہے کہ یہ دن بھی بہت جلددور ہوجائیں گے کیونکہ سب اپنی اپنی غلطیوں سے سیکھیں گے اور یہ وقت سیکھنے کا ہی ہے۔

ڈاکٹر عامر لیاقت حسین کا کہنا تھاکہ میں رمضان کی پرنور راتوں میں اپنے لوگوں سےدور نہیں رہ سکتا اور نہ رہنا چاہتا ہوں، پاکستان کو اس وقت ہماری ضرورت ہے،وطن ہمیں آواز دے رہا ہے،ہم نے اپنے گھر کی صفائی سے آنکھیں پھیر لی تھیں اور آج پالے ہوئے ہماری جان کےلالے بن چکے ہیں اب صفائی کا وقت آگیا ہے،کیڑےمکوڑوں سے گھر کو پاک کرنا ہے اور پاک فوج کا ساتھ دینا ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ پاک فوج ہماری جانب دیکھ رہی ہے ان کی امید بھری نگاہیں ہم سے قربانی نہیں ایک ساتھ کا تقاضہ کررہی ہےجبکہ پاکستان رمضان پاک فوج کے لئے ہے اورمیں اپنی افواج کی اس آس پر اوس نہیں پڑنے دوں گا، یہ کوئی اصول نہیں کہ ہمارے فوجی دہشت گردوں سے لڑتے لڑتے شہید ہوتے رہیں اورہم آرام سے اپنے گھروں میں رہیں ،میں عظیم فوجیوں کو پیغام دیتا ہوں کہ آپ کے ساتھ قربان ہونے کو بے چین ہیں۔

صدر ایکسپریس میڈیا گروپ نے کہا کہ اس رمضان کے ذریعے ہم ان تمام دانشوروں کو مستردکرنے جارہے ہیں جنہوں نے اپنے کالم اور تبصروں کے ذریعے ہماری افواج اور اس قوم کے مورال کو گرایا،اگر سرحدوں پر ہمارے فوجی جوان شہید ہوں گے تو ہم شہروں میں اپنی جان قربان کرنے کو تیا رہیں مگران کیڑوں سے ضرورت نجات حاصل کریں گےجو ہمیں ڈنک مار کر موت کے دہانے پر لے جارہے ہیں۔

عامر لیاقت حسین نے کہا کہ قوم آپریشن میں اپنی فوج کے ساتھ کھڑی ہے،14 اگست کو ایک پاکستان ہمیں قائداعظم محمد علی جناح نے ہمیں دیا اور اس رمضان ایک پاکستان ہمیں فوج دینے جارہی ہے اور ہم ان کے ساتھ کھڑے ہیں۔ ان کا کہنا تھا کہ رمضان ٹرانسمیشن میں پاک فوج کے جوانوں کے لئے روز دعائیں کی جائیں گی کیونکہ یہ رمضان پاکستان کا ہی رمضان ہوگا اور عامر لیاقت کسی ایک خطے اور صوبےکا نام نہیں پاکستان کا نام ہے

لندن: تازہ ترین طبی تحقییق سے انکشاف ہوا ہے کہ جو خواتین اپنی خواراک میں ’سرخ گوشت ‘ کا زيادہ استعمال کرتی ہيں ان ميں چھاتی کے سرطان کے امکانات بھی بڑھ جاتے ہيں

برطانوی جریدے میں شائع ہونے والی رپورٹ کے مطابق امریکا کی ہارورڈ يونيورسٹی کے محققين نے 20 برس تک 26 سے 45 برس کی 88 ہزار سے زائد خواتین کے روز مرہ معمولات اور ان کی صحت سے متعلق ڈیٹا کا موازنہ کیا جس میں یہ بات سامنے آئی کہ جو خواتين اپنی خوراک ميں سب سے زيادہ مقدار ميں ’’سرخ گوشت‘‘ شامل کرتی رہيں، ان ميں ہر ايک ہزار عورتوں ميں دوسری عورتوں کے مقابلے ميں چھاتی کے کينسر کے اوسطا 6.8 اضافی کيسز سامنے آئے۔ اس کے علاوہ ترقی يافتہ ممالک ميں خواتین ميں چھاتی کے کينسر پيدا ہونے کے امکانات 12.5 فيصد ہيں۔

طبی ماہرين کا کہنا ہے کہ سرخ گوشت ميں موجود پروٹين، خليوں کی تقسيم اور رسولی ميں اضافے کے عمل کو تيز تر بنا ديتے ہيں، اس کے علاوہ بازاروں ميں دستیاب گوشت سے بنے کھانوں میں بھی ايسے اجزاء شامل ہوتے ہيں، جو اس عمل ميں مدد ديتے ہيں تاہم یہ ضروری نہيں دو الگ الگ نسلوں سے تعلق رکھنے والی خواتين کے نتائج يکساں ہوں

انھوں نے عرفان خان کی مثال دیتے ہوئے کہا کہ امیزنگ سپائیڈرمین میں ان کے کردار کے بارے میں دعوی کیا گیا تھا کہ وہ پاورفل رول نبھا رہے ہیں،مگر جب فلم آئی تو ان کا کردار انتہائی معمولی نوعیت کا تھا ۔اداکارہ نے کہا کہ دراصل ہمارے فنکار ہالی ووڈ فلم کرنے کے شوق میں اپنے رول کے بارے میں بھی نہیں سوچتے کہ وہ کیا کرنے جارہے ہیں۔فی الحال تو میرا ایسا کوئی ارادہ نہیں ہے اگر ہالی ووڈ کی طرف سے ملنے والی آفرز میں کوئی پراجیکٹ ایسا لگا کہ جس میں اپنے کردار سے مطمئن ہوئی تو اس بارے میں سوچا جاسکتا ہے۔

سوناکشی سنہا نے کہا کہ سال رواں میں اکشے کمار کے ساتھ ’’ہالیڈے ‘‘ ریلیز ہوئی جسے باکس آفس پر اچھا رسپانس ملا ہے اور اکشے کمار کے ساتھ میری جوڑی کو پسند کیا گیا ہے۔ایک سوال کے جواب میں اداکارہ نے کہا کہ لیجنڈ رجنی کانت کے ساتھ فلم کر رہی ہوں ۔

قاہرہ: مصر کے ایک رجعت پسند مذہبی عالم نے فتویٰ جاری کیا ہے کہ برازیل میں جاری فٹبال ورلڈکپ کے میچز دیکھنا خلافِ اسلام ہے، اس لیے کہ ان میچز کی وجہ سے نماز میں ذہن منتشر ہوجاتا ہے، اور یہ قوم کے لیے تباہی کا باعث ہے

یہ فتویٰ مصر میں سلفی مکتبہ فکر کے بانیوں میں شمار کیے جانے والے یاسر برہامی نے جاری کیا ہے۔ یہ مکتبہ فکر مصر کے معروف مذہبی گروہوں میں سے ایک ہے

یاسر برہامی کا کہنا ہے کہ عالمی کپ کے میچ دیکھنا وقت کا زیاں اور ایک طرح کی تباہی ہے جس کی وجہ سے مجھے سخت غصہ آتا ہے۔ اس لیے کہ لوگ مذہبی فرائض سے غفلت برتتے ہیں۔اس رویے کی وجہ سے افراد اور اقوام تباہی کے گڑھے میں جاگرتی ہیں۔

العربیہ ڈاٹ نیٹ کے مطابق یاسر برہامی کا یہ فتویٰ مصر کے سلفی گروہ کی ویب سائٹ پر شایع کیا گیا ہے

یاسر برہامی کا کہنا ہے کہ اگر فٹبال کے ان میچز کی وجہ سے کوئی شخص اپنی مذہبی فرائض کی ادائیگی میں کوتاہی کا مرتکب ہوتا ہے، ان میچز کی وجہ سے انسانی جسم کے وہ حصے ظاہر ہوتے ہیں، جنہیں ڈھانپنے کا حکم دیا گیا ہے، اسی طرح اگر فٹبال کے یہ مقابلے مسلمانوں کے دلوں میں غیر مسلموں کی محبت پیدا کرنے کا باعث بنتے ہیں تو ان وجوہات کی بنا پر یہ کھیل حرام ہے۔

اس وقت جبکہ مصر ہی نہیں پوری عرب دنیا میں فٹبال کا ایک جنون چھایا ہوا ہے، مصر کے شدت پسند مذہبی عالم کے اس فتوے پر سخت رد عمل بھی سامنے آیا ہے۔

سلفی گروپ کی ویب سائٹ پر پبلش کی گئی ایک وڈیو میں یاسر برہامی کہتے ہیں کہ مصر کے عوام کی فٹبال ورلڈ کپ کے میچز میں بے انتہا دلچسپی کو دیکھتے ہوئے انہوں نے یہ نتیجہ نکالا ہے کہ یہ خلافِ اسلام اور حرام ہے۔

یاد رہے کہ مصر کی یہ سلفی جماعت 2011ء میں اخوان المسلمون کی حامی جماعت کے طور پر سامنے آئی تھی لیکن جلد ہی اس کی حمایت سے دستبردار بھی ہو گئی تھی

Has Business Writing Evolved For The Better ?

What would be your first answer to this this question? Well, if you’ve lived long enough, I’m sure you already know this truth about life; everything changes and evolves over time.

Doesn’t it?

Look at languages, even though it may take decades, even they evolve over time. If English is your language, go pick up one of Shakespeare plays and see for yourself if it sounds like the English you speak and write today.

But let’s not even go that far, just watch movies from the 1950’s and see how much language has evolved. I bet you’ll hear few expressions that are not really used anymore. Besides that, compare it to movies of today, and hear the difference. You wouldn’t hear expressions like, “you’re cool,” or words like computer, internet, cell phone, GPS, the web, texting, etc.

In languages where both the formal and familiar forms still exist such as French, Spanish or Italian, for example, the familiar form is used more and more, because people are becoming more relaxed in their way of talking to each other. That difference is noticeable even compared to only 20 to 30 years ago.

So, yes, whether you’re aware of it or not, and whether you even agree with it or not, our way of speaking evolves and changes.

Now this, said, if our way of speaking changes, then our way of writing changes too. Even Business Writing. If you write for business, you should be aware of few elements that I’m going to discuss in this post, so your writing will be up to date.

Business Writing shouldn’t mean Complicated

Went you look at the progression of languages, I guess we could say that beside the fact that our vocabulary increases and evolves with our life styles, it has also become simpler, in the sense of less complex and maybe less fancy.

I think that in the past, business writing, and business letters were full of fluffy words and phrases that were there only to make writing more official and more impressive to the reader. Over time, however, as the human race has grown up (so to speak) we’ve come to understand that simplicity works best. Today, instead of being impressed by stiff official sounding business writing, we are rather bored by it. It just doesn’t work anymore.

The reader needs more true value and less stiffness.

Even Legal Briefs are Changing Style

10 years ago I was working in a law office as a legal assistant for a while, and my boss sent me to a few legal writing classes and seminars. For the purpose of this post, I pulled out my books and notes form these classes, and found some very familiar reminders there. I’m sure you’ve heard them before.

Here are some tips given for legal brief writing.

Start with a basic introduction of the facts
Follow up with a clear statement of what you want
Include the strong facts at the beginning all the way to the weakest
Follow up with the actions that you will be taking

Yes, this about writing a legal briefs, but it really sounds a whole lot like any writing tips you would read for bloggers or any writing tips book you may have read, doesn’t it?

The reason for this is because no matter what you write, you want your writing to make sense for people who read it. Not people living one hundred years ago, but consumers of today. Business writing is writing for the consumer.

Legal Writing – Business Writing – Online Writing

I still have all my books from my legal writing courses and I thought I’d share some tips here. This will also prove to you, in case you doubt it, that business writing is a lot similar to blog writing, article writing, and any other promotional writing you’re doing.

Wordiness

Somewhere in my Effective Legal Writing book there is a chapter about wordiness. There it says how lawyers are found of “verbose” and how useless it is to the reader.

Legal writing is by nature, formal and detailed, so it doesn’t need to be made longer and more complicated by adding useless words.

In this chapter there are few very common writing tips that are valid for all writings, legal, business or online writing. Wordiness is a no-no for any type of business or non-business writing.

Use Active rather than Passive Verbs

Instead of: “The car was repaired by John.” You need to write “John repaired the car.”

Instead of: “Paris is visited by millions of tourists each year.” You need to write “Millions of tourists visit Paris each year.”

The use of active words works for any kind of writing, because they work better period. No matter what you write and no matter whom the reader is.

Avoid Repetition

Make a strong argument the first time around, and you won’t have to repeat it again, and again in the same article.

Repetitions are OK only if use purposely to create a specific effect, but beside that, repetition is boring to the reader. Thus it makes your writing dull.

Avoid Fillers

Avoid filler words such as “clearly,” “truthfully,” or “obviously.” Make it so rather than saying that it is. This is also called writing laziness, just adding fillers rather than finding a way to make our argument stronger.

Avoid Jargons

Whatever niche or market you’re in, I’m sure there is a jargon. Lawyers have a jargon, doctors have a jargon, computer geeks have a jargon, SEO experts have a jargon, and bloggers have a jargon, but whoever you are and whatever you do, you need to remember, that not everyone is going to be familiar with your jargon, so while you can use it when you talk to your peers, avoid using jargon when you write if you don’t want risking not being understood.

Business/Legal Writing Tips that may Sound Familiar to Online Writers

I found some very interesting tips again in that legal writing book, that sounded so familiar to me. Any business writing, or blog writing should know this.

Before you start writing know the followings:

1) Who you are writing for?

2) What is it you are writing?

3) Make a list of the things you want to cover.

4) Outline your writing to direct your article better.

5) Once you’re ready, write freely. Let yourself write. I found that note in this book so interesting indeed. (Read my subconscious writing post if you haven’t yet, to understand what I mean here).

6) Edit several times over.

7) Proof read.

Business Writing is Simply Writing

As you can see from this article, it doesn’t really matter what business you’re in or what or whom you’re writing for anymore, because writing is writing, and nowadays, even lawyers and paralegals are asked to simplify their writing and write in such a way that they can be understood by people who don’t know anything about the law.

Whether you are a corporation, a freelance business or anything else, make sure that your letters, emails and other articles can be understood by most.

Drop the formalities, fluffy words and terms that only people in your business can understand. Write correctly, but as if you were speaking to the reader in the simplest manner possible.

You can still keep a business tone, with a simple style that speak to everyone. Our languages have changed and evolved, and so is business writing. But not only business writing – any writing.

So, you’re turn to write a few words about what you think about business and/or any type of writings of today, in the comment area.

This 96 Square-Foot Mini Home Comes With Its Own Garden

This mini home is made by Oregon-based Shelter Wise, and costs $22,500. Called the Salsa Box, the home has just 96 square feet of space, but offers everything that a modern apartment hunter would need. It also comes with a living roof and fold-down window box to grow herbs and vegetables.

The house is described by Shelter Wise as “a 96 sq. ft. instant cabin designed to be an efficient, durable and budget-friendly Tiny Home.” Originally built as an instructional model to give workshop students a clear look at each of the steps involved in building a Tiny Home, but due to its popularity, the Salsa Box is now available to anyone who can afford the price (and also doesn’t have a large family).

This amazing small home comes with a full 30 Amp RV hookup and RV water connection. It also has a queen bed and the bathroom features a mini-tub/shower combo, and a flushing toilet. If this isn’t efficient enough for the extreme environmentalists out there, the Salsa Box can be modified and made completely self-sufficient. The flushing toilet can be replaced with a composting toilet, solar power can be added, and a water catchment system can be affixed to the roof. “It can be modified to be off-grid for the coast, woods, high desert or in between since it is built to withstand a variety of weather conditions.”

In terms of construction, the Salsa Box is made using FSC (Forest Stewardship Council – an international non-profit organization that promotes responsible forest management) certified wood. It also has a metal roof and efficient low-emissivity (Low-E) windows that provide better insulation than standard windows. The construction process is simple and uses weight-saving, energy-saving and space-saving measures.

Everyone wants more followers on Twitter. Considering that over 645 million people use it, with 135,000 people joining every day, gaining more followers can certainly be a valuable asset. It’s difficult, but more followers on Twitter equals more social authority and, for a business, more sales. Having more followers also allows you to extend your influence.

Of course, you could buy them in bulk for very little money – but don’t. Not only is this against Twitter rules, but these followers have nothing in common with you, have no affinity to you and are completely worthless. So how exactly can you increase your follower count?

Create a list

Create a list of influential and relevant Tweeters in your field. This way you will create a valuable community that is industry specific and you will al share similar interests. The people on the list will be notified that you have added them to it and, more often than not, will click your ‘Follow’ button.

Do not be an egg

If you do not have a picture on Twitter then all people can see is the standard Twitter picture, which happens to be an egg! If you do not have a picture your account seems less trustworthy because people think you are ashamed to put your face to your tweets. Essentially, you look like a spammer or a false account.

Show off

If you want to gain followers then you must broadcast and publish you Twitter handle wherever you can – let people know that you are @so-and-so! Do not be boring

By cramming your followers’ timelines with promo after promo you are thrusting it down their throats and they are likely to unfollow you. It has been recommended that for every 20 posts, 1 is promotional.

Make your posts retweet friendly

Retweets are the only thing to get noticed by people who do not follow you. Therefore, you must make it easy for your followers to retweet you. Keep your tweets short enough for people to add the RT symbol and your username. Also, make them worth retweeting – concise yet interesting and engaging.

Tweet enough but not too much

You do not want you followers thinking you have gone AWOL, but by that same token you do not want them to get sick of you. Even if you have a lot to say all at once or you have a sudden flood of interesting things you wish to retweet, use something like Buffer to stagger your posts so you do not saturate your follower’s timelines.

Time your Tweeting

If you tweet when people are busy or asleep how can they read, retweet or interact? Simple – they cannot! Make sure you posts go live at peak times to optimise their effect. Internet marketing firm Abraham & Harrison have performed some webinars in conjunction with Twitter and they confirmed that the peak times for Twitter activity are 9am, midday, 3pm and 6pm. Remember this the next time you are scheduling your tweets!

Be Inquisitive

Asking questions on Twitter is a great way of engaging people, beginning a conversation or debate and inadvertently driving traffic towards your account. They can be industry specific or simply generic, but utilise hashtags to spread the debate even further afield.

By using a combination of some (but preferably all) of the above tips, you’re certain to see an improved follower count, filled with the right people who you want within your community. All done with minimal cost and maximum effect.
