How to become a satellite TV installer

To become a satellite tv installer one must obtain the necessary training, Most companies like Dstv, Mytv, Kwese, Multi TV, Startimes, etc most times organizes training for new installers to learn how to install their packages, also a training can be obtained under the supervision of an experienced satellite installer.

Give expertise in the selection of satellite dishes

I want to firstly welcome all my subscribers and readers back or should i say i welcome myself back for long i haven't posted any stuff here on my blog as usual, that is due to some important reasons. but am back and what a best time to return with so many in the basket but i will focus only on Tstv, most of my clients have being so surprised about me not saying anything about Tstv on my page for long well i was observing never wanted to give information about something i wasn't so sure off not until i confirm.

For those that do not know about the latest Gist, which is Tstv let me sum it up for you, copied from their site. They promised to start in July but postponed to october 1st on which they launched their service but not functional yet, then November 1st and today is November 1st and they have postponed it indefinitely, when are they going to start commercial sales of their decoders?

Here is my take: I don't know when but be rest assured it will commence very soon why? Before October 1st i was wondering how they are going to start operation without a signal of their own at the then proposed satellite Abs @3West i was watching them in 3D, well they later said they were carrying out dealers accreditation which was responsible for the delay, to tell you the truth i knew it wasn't due to the accreditation at least let us see a test transmission before we can believe i remember telling some of my colleagues that they were buying time just to work on their service and using dealership accreditation as a cover up. But with all this are they really ready for business? Yes they are.
I am glad to inform you that their test transmission is now live with 30 channels and more to come and they are currently free to air, you can watch them with any free to air decoder, here are the channel list as at the time of writing this post
Mbc2, Mbc max, Mba Action, Aljazeera, Cgtn, Ewtn, Rave tv, Bbc News, Liberty tv, Channels tv, Enca, Tvc Entertainment, Ftv Asia, Dunamis, Sunnah tv, Tbn, Emmanuel tv, Dubai one, Dish Tv, Bringht Fm, Ahtv, Hits Tv, Riwendu tv, Mama Africa, Grande Movies, Mama Yoruba, Grande sport (beinsport), Grande sport2 (beinsport) France 24, Mama Africa Hausa. more to still come.

They are now live on air so we now know they are not scam, the decoders are not yet out on sale for now because its a test transmission, they gave out free to air decoders to people to actually test but if you have any free to air decoder you can test it on your own, all the channels are currently free to air, i watched EPL and seria A last weekend and Tuesday champions league live and free all through tstv, with music and movie channels it has being the bomb and their picture quality both HD and SD are very good and clear, they wont start nationwide sale until they have stability on their signal, currently their signal quality is low and many channels are yet to be included after working on it and they have stability they will commence sale and at that time you can only now have access to their channels only via their decoders. and their subscription is ridiculously low for the kind of programs they are offering, its just too good to be true but its true.

How CAN I GET THE TEST CHANNELS?
This part are for installers if you are one good and fine if you are not you can get one to track it for you.
What you need is a Dish preferably 90cm, any FTA Hd decoder like Strong, qsat, and co, Ku band lnb and tv to watch.

Use this Tp for Easy tracking 11168H30000 then you blind scan or input the above listed frequencies to get their channels which is free to air anybody can watch it.

I remember posting on my Facebook timeline, why wasting your time on sport24 that requires bigger dish and special decoders which isn't even stable where by at least for now Tstv is offering more with less stress. Enjoy the free test Channels while they last, Note anytime the channels are scrambled their decoders would be out so don't panic it is so cheap that i could buy 5pcs at once for the price of one for the kind of content they will be offering.

Dont let anybody deceive you in to paying anything for now because their decoders are not yet on sale you can test with any hd decoder you have.

I will advice those wailing wailers to stop because for now atleast you can enjoy their programs for we the sport lovers we can enjoy our sports and lots more, why then are we wailing, Tstv is working to serve their customers well and we will support them till the End. What next? as MYTV discontinues support for Non-Mytv Decoders

Mytv has discontinued support for Non-Mytv Receivers that were able to view the free to view channels which are encrypted but yet free to view for any paired compatible strong decoders to a particular FTV card or mytv card. For a year+ now for those that were able to pair ether the FTV card or mytv card to any HD strong decoder were able to receive some of mytv channels as free to air channels like, Ait, Silverbird, Channels, Galaxy, Rave Tv, Kbs World, Wap tv, Wazobia tv, nolly Afica(24hrs Movies) etc. For over a year many has been enjoying these package on their strong decoders provided that it has been paired to a mytv or FTV card. But Now things are set to take a new leave has mytv discontinues support for non mytv receivers, for clarity mytv decoders are also made by strong technologies but they have some particular models dedicated to them hence they have a separate function like 4940, 4935, 4675, 4915, 4672. For as many that do not have any of these decoders then you wont be able to view those listed channels above as free to air. For those with the decoders above with paired mytv smart card with or without subscription you can still enjoy all of those channels as free to air.
But for we that don’t have any of the listed decoders above but we have been enjoying those channels as fta what is the way forward?

Before I move further, for any of those mytv strong decoders many functions are disabled you cannot customize it, you can’t load third-party software in other words you can’t have access to functions like biss, iptv, powervu, etc. for we that have other models like 4922, 4950, 4955, etc or any Hd IKs decoders there is a way. You can actually unscramble those channels listed above and more with a protocol called CCcam. With this protocol you can have access to those channels and even more on that same position as mytv.
Mytv is positioned at Eutelsat 16east and on that same position another package Tvsat is also positioned on that same satellite and all their packages are also scrambled but with this protocol CCcam you can have access to these TVsat package and Mytv Package on a third-party decoder and still enjoy same content just as their decoders are enjoying for a cheaper price.

Eutelsat 9°E -11804 V 27500: You need a minimum of 1m dish for a good result for these satellite its on ku band, although many regions in Africa find this satellite very difficult to track so you can try the other alternatives. Thor 0.8°W 4175 R 28000 Intelsat 64.2°E -4093 L 3680 for Thor 0.8west you need a minimum of 1.8m dish and a c band lnb and the tracking Tp is 4175 H 28000 R stands for H and L for V note when tracking this particular satellite you don't need the dielectric plate inside the cband lnb its brodcasted as circular but in the real sense its linear so you don't need the plate inside the cband to receive these signal. For intelsat 64.2 you also need 1.8m to track with tp 4093 V 3680 you need to insert the plate when tracking this one.

For all the above channels they are all PowerVU encrypted which means, you need a powerVU decoder to be able to access these channels... i suggest you get an autoroll powervu decoder to be able to autoroll the keys anytime it changes ranging from Strong, qsat, tiger, Gsky, Alphabox, etc.

Note on intelsat 34west you can also recieve AFN but you get only three of there channels there and with poor picture and audio which doesn't give that feeling of HD so tracking any of the above give you access to all channels not just all but quality picture and sound output.

For those that are still new to this tag (NigComSat 1R) Nigeria Communication Satellite is really missing for the fact that it is free to air and serves just Local contents is truly worth the credit for atleast bringing up the idea.. although it is still work in progress.

ABOUT:

On December 15, 2004, Nigeria's National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) and CGWIC signed the NigcomSat-1 communications satellite in-orbit delivery contract in Abuja, the capital of Nigeria.

On May 14, 2007, NigComSat-1 was successfully launched from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center (XSLC) aboard an enhanced LM-3B (LM-3B/E) launch vehicle. On July 6, 2007, CGWIC delivered the NigComSat-1 satellite in orbit to Nigerian CommunicationS Satellite Ltd. (NigComSat Ltd.), along with a tracking station in Kashi of China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and one fully operational ground station in Abuja, Nigeria. A 15-year operational support service and a comprehensive training program have also been provided as part of the contract. NigComSat-1 was China's first commercial in-orbit delivery telecommunications satellite.

On November 11, 2008, NigComSat-1 failed in orbit after running out of power due to solar array anomaly.

On March 24, 2009, the Nigerian Federal Ministry of Science and Technology, NigComSat Ltd. and CGWIC sighed the NigcomSat-1R satellite in-orbit delivery contract. NigComSat-1R is also a DFH-4 satellite.

The NigcomSat-1 is equipped with 28 transponders on board in four (4) frequency bands ( 8 Ka-band, 14 Ku-band, 4C-band and 2 L-band) . In order to satisfy the complicated coverage area requirements, the satellite is fitted with a total of seven shaped communication antennae. With a lift-off mass of 5,086kg, the NigcomSat-1 satellite will be positioned at 42.5 degrees east longitude over the equator, with an end-of-life power of over 8KW, and a design orbit life span of 15 years.

After many tries The satellite is now fully in space and working.. there were calls some time ago fo0r the Nigerian Govt to sell this satellite but today the satellite has been properly utilized, for the little itches we have been facing will soon be a bygone issue...according to vanguard Nigcomsat was included in the 2017 budget for a better service upgrade which will soon come in place.

WHAT ARE THE CHANNELS AVAILABLE ON THIS SATELLITE?

Many of Nigeria and Ghanian channels are been received here e.g Silverbird, trybe, Ice tv, Thunder tv, Kiss Tv, Tvc news and Entertainment, Music, wazobia max and Wazobia, Televista....e.t.c For now you get at least about 60 free to air channels and more are still to come. you enjoy every type and kind of entertainment movies, musics, news, etc, it is also believed that some sport channels shall be added subsequently.

How can i receive these channels?

You need a minimum of 60cm dish and any Hd free to air boxes like strong, qsat, alphabox, freesat, tiger, etc. It is at 42.5 east very close to dstv at 36east with tp. 12518H29500 and 12627H29500

How to track?

Its very easy to track, earlier before now the channels do come and go , signals are not steady but for many days now its been stable and all my tracking of it has been in point and easy...to make it easier
Track DSTV at 36 east and adjust till you get the best %, your focus should be on the lnb tweaking make sure at DSTV position you adjust your lnb to the best signal level you can get then input the frequency of Nigcomsat 12518 H 29500 and then bring down the dish a little and move the dish to your left from behind and you should hit the bird as simple as that. Do not adjust the lnb after you nail dstv i noticed they are same lnb position with dstv because slight change from the lnb setting might waste your time unnecessarily... after nailing the satellite you keep searching regularly to keep getting the channels as they keep rolling out.

Kwese sport has been a huge blessing to sport lovers...though you don't get to watch all EPL matches on t but you are sure gong to enjoy some of its services.. through out this week we were able to watch the copa del ray live on kwese sport... i didn't write about t until i confirmed it myself. kwese has a full HD display that makes watching of games on their channel exiting. they also do air One epl every week and also NBA games, and other sports to join soon.

Here is a software for qsat Models...HDsport 24 has really made so many decoder developers to up their game, and at same time we the end users too must up our game and be careful of the kind of decoders we buy... so many decoders are out there, my advi9ce is we should not rush into getting any kind of decoders all because of powervu auto roll software, my advice is patience....

For qsat so far only three models Namely Q23G, Q26G and Q28G, these are the official supported decoders... download these patch and load to the specified decoder and you are sure your decoder now has a fully supported autoroll function for powervu.

But for other Qsat models that are not listed here, there is a solution for you.....the question is how can we load this patch considering the fact that it is not any of q23g, q26g, or q28g...
here is what we do... Firstly you need to .locate a very good technicians around you.. if you are using any of the old models of qsat, all you need do is to find the IC for either q23g or q26g and exchange it with yours.
For instance if you have q13g, you can get an Ic for q26G or Q23G and change it with the IC of your Q13G... After Successful change ....you should now load the patch of the Ic model you exchanged either Q23g if you used q23G Ic or Q26g if you made use of q26G ic... and your decoder will be up and running as auto-roll just like the original series of q23, 26 and 28G respectively.

Note: you need to be very careful while doing this so i recommend you locate a good technician that knows about it....i will try to give a comprehensive note on how to do it...

Get the latest version of most strong decoders that supports powervu... not just manual inputs but they have the ability to autoroll powervu channels.... and i must commend their autoroll abilities.....

Note: most of the strong decoders models with auto roll function are mostly the 495 Series... so many had 4922 but from the look of things the chip on 4922 is making it difficult to be a fully auto roll decoder..

Listed below are the supported models of strong that i have tested with their latest versions of software to fully turn your decoder to auto roll.

1. The no 1 on my list is 4950. this was the first ever strong decoder that supported auto roll.... all brands of 4950 is compatible be it..4950M, 4950H and 4950E... if you have any of the 4950 series decoder just download the right software for your model, load it to your decoder and it will begin to auto roll powervu channels like hd sport24.

2. The second on my list is 4955, many people knows little about this decoder, its just like a clone of 4950 series.. it also supports auto roll for powervu channels i tested this decoder my self and it worked fine... the inbuilt iptv is very stable once you activate the account.

Note all the files are in rar format so un rar it and extract the .bin file in side of it and copy to your flash drive or any readable and writable drive and load to the corresponding decoder.

Its been a while i posted.... you must agree so many work to do and considering the fact that most updates always rolls out on satellite forums on facebook and whatsapp it limited some of our updates including too much of activities to do... well i will be giving some general update on the latest informations i have been able to lay my hands on about satellite tv over the days and weeks.

MBC PACKAGES @ BADR SAT 26EAST

For movies lover you can now receive mbc channels @Badrsat 26east with a minimum of 60cm dish all for free.. you would get same packages as that of nilesat @7west (mbc1, 2, 3, 4, max, action and bollywood).
How to scan?
Like i earlier mentioned the minimmum dish size is 60cm, located @ badrsat 26degree east, its on ku band and very close to multi tv... to track use 12303H27500 when you get like 75% and above then blindscan or input the tp for mbc 12265H27500 and search.
Note: You can actually track both multi tv @28.2east and badrsat @26east together on a single dish and lnb.....How to archieve this firstly track multi tv using 12522v30000 @28 east get above 80% then input this tp for badrsat @ 26 east 12303H27500 then raise your dish up a little monitoring your signal meter if you dont get any signal do this.... direct the dish back to multi tv archieve like 82% or above on 12522V30000 tight the elevation now from behind the dish move the dish i.e (azimuth) to the right untill you signal drops to 75% now input the tp for badrsat 12303H27500 and raise the elevation a little you should get it... try to use yor own discretion to balance your multi tv and badrsat @ 70% each also dont forget the lnb screewing too.OR you can attact a seperate LNB to get both differently.

KWESE FREE SPORT NOW @ 7EAST

Well this shouldnt be the first time you are hearing of kwese sport. Kwese sport airs live Epl on saturday just one game and also some other sporting events which would soon be unfolded... the usuall position is @ binterest sat @ 51.5 east.
How to scan?
Minimum dish size is 60/90cm depending on your location, you track Eutelsat 7A @7east using 12728H/V30000 after getting the signal you can now input that of kwese sport which is 10722V/H30000 note you wont see the name of the channel as kwese but service101.... just like when thesame kwese was receiveable @ yamal 54.9east it later went off, there are no guarantee how long this will last but you can get the channells directly on their official sat which is Belintersat @51.5east. Its on Cband with frequency 3877 L 6420 you need to insert the dielectric plate while scanning.... 1.8m dish recommended. it is encrypted with biss.

How to scan:
Recommended dish size is 2.4m or 1.8m depending on your location 1.8m works for far northern part of Nigeria but with low signal quality..
its on Cband, with tracking frequency 3520 H 28125 here you dont need the dielectric plate.... infact if you have like 3m dish you can combine it with sony @68.5 east and sport 24 @ 57east. It is encrypted with Biss Key: 35 79 00 AE 00 00 00 00. Use Sid: 0010.

COPA DEL RAY LIVE @ YAHSAT 52.5 EAST KU BAND

This is one copetition that every one wants to watch but finds it difficult to get well you can now watch your copa del ray for free on MAIWAND TV @ yahsat 52.5east its on ku band with frequency 12015 H 27500. but it requires large dish like 3m but depending on your region for some african countries 90cm can even track it.. so do check your EIRP values to know recomended dish size for your region.

SPORT24 @ 57EAST CHANGED THEIR FREQUENCY

As we all know you can receive sport24 on various directions but that of 57 east changed their frequency to 4136 R/H 13000... to learn more on this package read here andalso do remember so far so good only Auto roll decoders can comfortably open sporthd 24.

How to Load the software
1. CUT/COPY AND PASTE the software you downloaded into your flash drive

This tutorial is basically for those using Strong decoders.. if you mistakenly fried your decoder maybe during the course of loading a new software which is common...
this is not an hardware solutiuon if you have an hardware problem like No signal, no picture No power, No sounds etc this cant solve the problem...here its all about firmware correction...whch might be due to you loading a wrong software, or virus infected patch or power falure doing upgrade....

This tutorial will be in two face: You can wake up a dead decoder through any of these two

1. Decoder to decoder transfer
2. pc to decoder transfer

Now let us start with decoder to decoder transfer
This is one of the easiest to do.... when you have a dead strong decoder you can bring it back to life by transferring firmware from another decoder to the dead one...

things you need to get this done.
1. rs232 cable( we have the serial to serial and the usb to serial)

2. Similar model of decoder as the dead one

How to Restore the decoder through decoder to decoder transfer
1. make sure you get the exact model of your decoder
2. Power On both decoders, the dead one and the working one.... the dead one will on but will refuse to boot.
3. connect the rs232 cable from the working decoder to the dead decoder
in the case of using the usb to serial rs232 cable connect the serial part to the working decoder and the usb part to the dead decoder
4. goto menu on the working decoder, goto system settings as the case may be, locate data transfer, open it and select firmware transfer and select OK for it to transfer life to the dead decoder

5. Allow to transfer, if successful the decoder will reboot and your dead decoder will be up and running again.

Pc to decoder transfer.
Firstly you should downoad this tool to your pc.. STB_TOOLS download that app to your pc

you must make sure your pc has the serial port for rs232 or the usb to serial would also work
Now you should download the latest patch for your decoder to your pc. after all that
1. power on your decoder
2. connect the rs232 cable from your pc to your decoder
3. open the STB-TOOLs you installed

4. select auto detect to detect the com port for your decoder, note: your decoder must be on for it to detect it.

5. click on browse and select the patch for the decoder that you downloaded to your pc locate where you downloaded it and select. note: it must be in .stb format

6. there after you should click on connect and wait for it to transfer

7. after successful transfer your decoder will reboot and your decoder will be alive.

You can do so many things with your stb tools, like backing up and updating your channel list and backing up your firmware. Hope this helps you out.

TANDBERG a powerVU like Encryption Now Possible on Some Strong Decoders....Read

This is a new kind of Encryption that is been used to encrypt some channels....
What is Encryption? The goal of encryption is to allow the passing of data without interception as well as preventing impersonation. Encryption has been implemented historically by transposing or replacing text characters in order to send information that was unreadable unless the decoding “key” was known.

Methods Currently used today for Encryption
DES: Adopted by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in 1972, the Data Encryption Standard is a symmetric block cipher encryption method using a 56-bit key. It was developed for use as a government standard for non-classified data until 1997. It is still used today in many applications, but NIST required a new standard that would withstand the power and speed of today’s computers when used as brute force attacks1 .

AES: The Advanced Encryption Standard was adopted in May of 2002 as an official government standard. It is also a block cipher encryption like DES but in many orders of magnitude more secure. Compared to DES; if a brute force attack1 was able to crack a single 56-bit DES key in 1 second, the same technology would take 149 trillion years to crack a single 128-bit AES key. AES is able to be implemented with a 128, 192, or 256-bit key.

Triple-DES (DES3): This is a minor modification of the DES standard which is three times slower but billions of times as secure. Using the same comparison as in the above section; if an attack could crack a single 56-bit DES key in 1 second, the same attack would take 4.6 billion years to crack a 168-bit triple-DES key. It’s not quite as secure or portable as AES, but it provides an excellent solution for some applications.

Custom: There are many custom boxes that provide different levels of encryption and are often used in military applications. These can be very expensive and some are even illegal to be owned by civilians. Some examples are the KIV7 and KG194.

A brute force attack is a semi-automated attempt to crack a code by using computers simultaneously, and repeatedly to “guess” codes or passwords.

How Does TANDBERG Use Encryption? TANDBERG supports 128bit AES and 56bit DES encryption in the entire product line as an embedded feature. These two methods of encryption may be used in H.320 and H.323 environments simultaneously. A mix of AES and DES is also permitted if configured to do so.

TANDBERG's encryption has been tested by a National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) approved laboratory and validated as conforming to the Data Encryption Standard (DES) as specified in Federal Information Processing Standard Publication 46-3, Data Encryption Standard (DES) and as specified in Federal Processing Standard Publication 197, Advanced Encryption Standard (AES).:
TANDBERG implements the Diffie Hellman method for encrypted key exchange.

Tandberg Hacked: just like powervu and biss some series of corresponding keys are needed to descramble any channel that is been encrypted with tandberg. its either you input it manually or through a softcam or can be updated automatically just like biss and powervu.

This is a not too popular encryption model so less channels are been encrypted with this service but hopefully over the course of time more will join. and not so many decoders out there have the support for the descrambling of these channels encrypted with tandberg. so far so good listed below are some supported strong decoders that supports the descrambling of this encryption. like i always say strong is always the best when it comes to software/firmware supports.... check the supported models for now below with their patch download link.

we have some host of channels like Arena Sports 1 to 4 @hellsat39East, we also have fox network @ turksat46east and we also have CNBC @ intelsat68.5East.
So far there are still more to be discovered but i have not yet tried that of Arena sport, fox networks and premier league on Eutelsat 7east but i have certainly tested that of CNBC @ Intelsat 68.8east.

But so far if you download the above software i recommended for your strong decoders, you don't need to input the keys manually, the patch comes with an inbuilt soft cam for it.... all you need do is to download the patch unzip or unrar, copy to your flash drive and load to your decoder .

Why am i concentrating just on this? i am yet to test others but from good reports it also works for Arena sport.and also for those that are receiving sony its a very easy and simple process just input the frequency 4066 H 19845 for CNBC nd search then load the patch.

Main Menu-> DiSEqC search Press OK enter the DiSEqC search， in this menu, connect the DiSEqC port, the view will be display the sat which can connect, then you can search the channel by DiSEqC. Press Green button change LNB type.Press Blue button to go DiSEqC1.1.

SPECTRUM
Main Menu-> SPECTRUM In this menu, you can know the strength of all transponders.

(1) Press the Yellow key change DiSEqC port. Press the Blue key 22khz signal on or off， Press Red key change Polarization control Hor / Ver. Every set finished.

(2)Turn right or left to change intermediate frequency, then press the Find button can find the TP information,press twice can see the programs of the TP.

Watch TV

Main Menu-> Watch TV Press OK enter the Watch TV menu, in this menu, you can press the Yellow key select any satellite or press the Blue key enter the Channel/Radio menu, press the up/down key jump to next/previous channel. Press the Red button to watch Full Screen.

PVR
When you watch a program, you can press the F4 key and select PVR item to begin PVR

Start Recording

1) You can press the F4 key then highlight the PVR item and press the OK key to start recording while watching program.

2) After you recording a program, you can press the / key to switch to another programme and press the F1 key to record at the same time.

Stop Recording

1)You can press the EXIT key to stop recording and you will be asked to select which one you want to exit. You can also exit all recordings at the same time.

2)If the free space on the USB HDD or USB disk is insufficient, recording will stop.

3) Watch the Other Programmes while Recording at the same time, you can only watch the programme from the same TP.

TP PVR

When you watch a program, you can press the F4 key and select TP PVR item to begin TP PVR. It allows record all programmes under the same TP.
Note: you need a USB flash to be able to record.

USB Menu

Main Menu-> PC Update -> USB Menu in this menu, you can press the / key to select the category that you like to play. The media files are partitioned into all, Stream, Movie, Music, Picture, Software and other.

Press the FIND button to display the signal finding menu，jump to Packet Control menu

Secondly: After meeting the above requirement of having any of the above decoders,the next is to get a smart card.

How can i get the smart card? One of the following duly registered & activated Compliant Smart Card: STRONG HD, My TV, Ma TÉLÉ or STRONG FTV
walk into any mytv shops or any dealer of Strong products anywhere and ask for any of the above listed cards.

Thirdly: you need make sure your dish and decoder is set up, you need to have access to Eutelsat16 @16 east and To receive the free to view channels you must track:

You need an accredited installer to do the set up for you if you don't have it already installed before.

Fourthly: You need to pair your smart card with your decoder. else it wont work. so you need pair the card card and the decoder together.

How do i pair my smart card to my decoder;

Before you visit the website to pair you must firstly write down these details first

Smart Card Number: The number at the body of the card

STB Serial Number: This is a sticker that is placed at the back of the decoder for example: 4940-1234-123456

STB Code Number :STB Code Number (CN) is extracted from your Receiver Menu as Follows:

Press the MENU button on the remote control handset
Select SYSTEM SETTINGS
Select SECURITY SETTINGS
Enter 0000 or your own Password
CN will be revealed on the bottom line of the screen

Models 4950/E/H/M * and 4955 ** :STB Code Number (CN) to be extracted as follows:
Press the MENU button on the remote control handset
Select SYSTEM INFORMATION or SYSTEM SETTINGS, as the case may be
Select About STB
CN will then be revealed

For SRT 4950/E/H/M CN may be referred to as ID or Serial Number
For SRT 4955, CN is referred to as Serial Number

After you have all the details now click on the activate link below to start the process it takes less than 5 minutes to activate

Read this vital info: when typing the serial number you must indicate the (-) dash sign just like 4940-1234-123456. check the image below for a form i already filled.

Once every details is correct it will display a success message below the form, now you must tune to the channel at that point, either of the ftv channels either AIT, Silverbird or any and leave it their if you get a success message after clicking the Activate link on their site your channels should be up and working in five minutes.

Tracking HDsport24 and Sony package on one dish without using a motorized jack

From my previous post I made a detailed guide on tracking mtn worldwide tv on 34.5west, but today we will see another position where we can get these mtn worldwide tv especially the famous HDsport24 that airs EPL. We also have sony that airs Laliga (Spanish League), English fa cups and other football games.

What is this sport24 all about?
It’s been on for a while now you can read more by reading this article here. Now its on a different position from the former but its same channel. On this position am about to share its on the East Orbit and the other on west. That of the east has been on for long but recently we have been able to get it on same dish size as that of west which makes it easier for us to work on it… and leaving us with the choice of which sat is better depending on our location.

Tracking Sport24 @ nns12@57east.
To track this satellite you need a minimum of 1.8m dish You also need a good cband lnb and a powervu enabled decoder.

Now to the tracking: firstly after assembling your dish you fix the cband lnb and note you need the plate in the cband lnb for this. Here is the easiest way to track this. Use this tp 3802 H 19999 with your lnb tweaked @ 3 o'clock and begin hunting, once you get the signal now input this tp its for HDsport24 @57east 4133 R 13000 and it should pop up. Remember its @57east.

If you find this difficult to track you can just try and nail yamal @ 55east on ku band lnb with frequency 11045 V 40000 then, you change the lnb to cband, tweak the cband lnb to 3 o'clock and bring down the elevation of the dish a little you should get it. keep adjusting the azimuth and elevation to get its peak.
That is that for this satellite on 57east.

Tracking Sony Entertainment.
I don’t think I had written any comprehensive article on tracking this, well for experts and gurus they mostly just need the frequency and they are good to go, but we still have novice or those that are yet to track something like this so I try to be descriptive as possible.. sorry if you find this so boring as a pro..#winks

How to track sony entertainment channels easily:
Firstly, Sony Entertainment is @intelsat 68.5East. this means your dish will face down well so you should know that, also you should know how to locate your satellite degrees and positions I did explained that here please do read;’ here…………also the recommended dish size is 1.8m, but I have discovered that, 1.8m best works in the northern part of Nigeria, it still does work for other regions but I have recorded so many complaint so therefore if you are not in northern Nigeria I recommend you use bigger dish rather than 1.8m except you already got a 1.8m dish earlier before this.

One thing you should always know is, for you to enjoy free to air football you need a big dish, the bigger your dish the more channels you get.

Normally this is how I started on this channel, firstly i track old mytv which is on same position with this sony @68.5east, this is where we get most Christian channels, its on ku band, track this preaching channels with frequency 12722 V 26657… when you get this signal try to adjust and get the highest signal.

Then, change the lnb from ku to cband, note you should remove the dielectric plate after fixing the cband lnb, now input this TP. 3974 V 19850 still on same position don’t adjust the elevation or the azimuth of the dish, just keep adjusting the lnb @ some point you might need to adjust the elevation and azimuth a little, but don’t adjust the dish body (reflector) until you have adjusted the cband lnb very well.

The above frequency is very easy to track but its not for the sony.. after getting like 70% on that tp 3974V19850, Thereafter input sony frequency which is 3900H22222 and do all adjustments on the dish to get the peak of its signal for your dish then you search…. Also do blind scan to get other channels on it.

Combining Sony entertainment and Mtn worldwide Tv on One dish…..

Considering the fact that HDSport24 is @57east and Sony entertainment is @ 68.5East, they are not too far away from each other, this means there is a great possibilities of combining the two together which is very very possible, and I testify to it that it worked just perfectly.

How do we do this?

You must know that you need two cband lnb’s for this, also the dish size is minimum 1.8m for northern Nigeria but other areas I recommend above 1.8m if you can from 2.4m is just perfect.

One sweet thing about this is you can make any of the satellites to be your primary which either way it will work. What do I mean by primary? It means of the two satellites HDSport24 and sony you track one first.. before another… the first sat you track is your primary.. so in this case you can decide to track sony first then you attach HDSport24 to it… or you can track HDSport24 first then you attach sony to it, either way it will work.

How do we attach our lnb?

If you track HDSport24 first as your primary, you attach your cband lnb for Sony just above that of HDsport24...

But if you track Sony entertainment first as your primary, you attach the second cband lnb for HDSport24 below that of sony .

with this description you should get a clear picture of what is involved in the trick. You should get a rod that you can use to hold the other lnb or you can tie it there.

I recommend you first tracking Sony then you attach Sport24 east just below the cband lnb of Sony. And with the above you now have both satellites on just one dish and you enjoy your premiership, laliga, Fa cup, Champions league, Europa cup, Crickets, Wrestling and many more. Also don’t forget you will need a Diseq switch to connect both lnb’s to your decoder.

Watching theses channels…

There are host of channels on both satellites both they are Powervu Channels, if you don’t know what that means read this……. You need compatible decoders to decrypt them, either an auto roll or a manually inputed kind of decoders like strong.

Sport24 is one of the powervu channels we have been enjoying for sometime now. They have been inconsistent due to some coverage rights and so on.
What kind of program do they air? They air live Epl Matches, champions league, Europa League and other European competitions including the on going Euro 2016 tournament in France.

For those asking if Sport24 is track-able with 1m and scalar ring!!! the answer to that question is No. You need a minimum dish size of 1.8m and above, also its powervu encrypted, still don't know what powervu means Read this

HOW TO RECEIVE SPORT24 AND AFN ON 34.5WEST
Follow this steps and guide i will give below strictly it should answer some of your questions:

Firstly, you need at least a 1.8m dish...1m and scalar ring wont work

You need a very good Cband lnb, i used Strong, Dmac and single solution lnb brown carton eurostar, and they worked well.

Thirdly you need a powervu enabled Decoder, like strong, qsat,alpha box, openbox, Gsky, Azplay, etc. so many of them in the market but choose wisely, make good enquires before you buy any.

TRACKING THESE CHANNELS
Use this frequency to track 3777 h/v 3777 this tp is for NTA on same position with sport24 @34.5west, its a very easy and simple tp to locate, remember its on 34.5west.

On the Cband LNB you should use the di-electric plate inside the lnb for good and better reception.

After you nail the signal on this tp 3777 h/v 3777 try all you possible best to boost the signal quality to at least 80 to 85% then you input these frequencies:
Sport24: 4173 H 20665

Afn: 4126 L 3680

Then you scan or you blind scan.

WHAT TO DO TO BOOST YOUR SIGNAL QUALITY.
Here are some tips you can try out to boost your signal quality

Aligning the satellite dish

How do we align our satellite dish?
1. Start by adjusting the azimuth of the dish to its peak of that particular satellite. What is Azimuth? this is the movement of the dish from right to left horizontally, try to make sure that the horizontal position for that satellite is the best location and position, you check you signal meter during adjustment to know and get the highest possible position.
2. Dish elevation: Dish elevation is the vertical movement of the dish either up or down. Just like the azimuth make sure that the current elevation level of the dish to the satellite is to its peak. i.e to the best quality level, also monitor your signal meter during this adjustment.
3. Body of the dish: this is an aspect that many installers do not always put in to consideration during installation. the body of a dish can be so bad that no matter the trick you apply if you don't try to adjust its body you would just be wasting your time. So check if there are any bent area around the circular edges of the dish and try to adjust it, this case is a common problem we face especially during the raining seasons. How i do this: After all adjustments i touch all edges of the dish pan softly while i monitor the signal meter to see any changes, i do this round all its edges just to be sure and to be satisfied also.
4. Adjusting the Lnb: you don't need to bother much on lnb skewing on cband unlike on ku band Lnb, here the lnb azimuth has little effect on its quality but it's best advisable to adjust the cband lnb to get the best signal.
5. Dish Location: Your dish must be free and clear of any obstruction there should be a clear view from your dish to the satellite in orbit.
6. Bad Lnb's: if you use a less effective LNB sport24 wont come up, you might receive afn and nta but sport24 will be a hard nut to crack, so get a quality lnb, also check you lnb if there are webs inside or dirt's clean and make it free.
7. Bad weather: do not try to hunt for any satellite if the weather isn't clear, especially when its raining, sometimes after tracking too and you are watching the channels, all in good condition, when you notice some drop in the signal quality and it rained just check if there is water on the satellite dish pan, try and drain the water off if there is any to boost the reception strength.

UNLOCKING AND WATCHING SPORT24 AND AFN PACKAGES ON 34.5WEST.
Like i stated earlier they are both powervu encrypted, which means you need a powervu enabled decoder.
Some decoders are auto-roll which means after tracking all you need is just to connect the decoder and it automatically opens the channels but for some other decoders you need to manually input the powervu keys to unlock them.
Given below are the keys for both afn and sport24 as at the time of publishing this post they are working

Happy new month to all my blog readers..... i am going to introduce a currently trending free to air package that has been on voke for the past three to four weeks.... due to lot of schedules i have been so busy and i hardly have time to make new p[osts and update so lets see this package.

Ting is a tv package that is owned and broadcasted from Tanzania, they were once in Eutelsat 16 east but they are currently located at Apstar 7 at 76.5°E....they have varieties of channels ranging from sport, news, movies, documentary, e.t.c.

They are currently broadcasting as a free to air but i assure you its just for a while and you can only get the with their official decoder, but meanwhile you can currently get them on any FTA HD or Mpeg4 Decoder.... lets enjoy the package while it last... since its easy to track and less costly to even install.

How to Receive These Channels.
To receive these package you need a minimum of 60cm dish not minding your location, either east, west, central or central africa. You also need a Mpeg4 or Hd Free to Air decoder to be able to enjoy this package.

How to track?
firstly you must know that this satellite elevation is very down i mean you have no business raising your dish up.

Now to the tracking: first track Intelsat 68.5east the old mytv position where you get most preaching chnnels.

How to track old mytv @intelsat 68.5east
use tis to track old mytv 12722 V 26657 skew your lnb at 2'0clock after getting like 70%
then,

Input this tp to get the ting package: 11599 V 30000 Still on thesame lnb screw and Azimuth
now after getting the old mytv @68.5East input that Tp Above 11599 V 30000 for ting now just bring down the dish a little and you will hit the signal, its very easy to track.....

Make sure there are no obstruction or obstacles or high buildings else you might not hit the signal but if you can get the Intelsat68.5east signal then you will definitely nail the ting package.

Some of the channels you will receive on this package are:ATN, EWTN, TBN, ZEE CINEMA, SMILE OF A CHILD, FOX SPORT, FRANCE 24, FOX SPORT2, DUBAI SPORT, MUVI TV AFRICA, MNOLLYWOOD, EMMANUEL TV, ALJEZEERA, I FIELM ENGLISH, EURONEWS, PRESS, FASHION BOX, FOX, FILMBOX AFRICA, FIGHT BOX. Hello to every one of you reading this article, due to request from so many readers on my blog i decided to make this post.. on how you can successfully track Mbc channels on Nilesat7W.

I must say so many people find this satellite so difficult to track, i always receive, emails, calls, text and messages on my whatsapp with request just for this satellite, well with this article today i should be able to do justice to it.... and to be honest after you successfully nail the satellite you would discover that its actually one of the easiest to track, now lets get down to business.

Requirement for MBC Channels on Nilesat7W.

Satellite Dish: of cause you need a dish, a recommended dish size of 100cm(1m), but hey 90cm 85cm, 75cm and 60cm will also work.. i was able to nail this satellite in north east, Kaduna state Nigeria with 60cm, but it depends on your location , but not withstanding your location for any area in west africa Nigeria, Ghana, Benin, Mali, etc. 100cm is just perfectly ok for it. but if you want to get a new dish as a fresher go for 100cm for this satellite.
A Decoder: a Standard Mpeg2 SD decoder will just be fine, its not must you have a mpeg4 or HD decoders but if you have an HD good ad fine but our old receivers mpeg2 will work just fine.
Accessories: what do i mean by accessories, you need LNB a good KU band LNB,i recommend a strong LNB, coaxial cables, f-connectors, e.t.c...Also you need a good Installer if you are a newbie you can try it out yourself i hope my article on this will be useful enough.

Take note of this before before you start hunting for this satellite

You must make sure the place or area you want to mount the dish is free enough horizontally from the dish , up to the sky.... trees, high buildings, mast, etc.. must not be close at least for a better reception 20 to 30m apart.
Also i discovered a problem that is usually common, you pole should be straight, try your best to make sure the pole you want to mount the dish is strong and firm in other not to shake during the hunting, because its going too be a negative factor if not properly mounted.
After mounting the dish and making the connections, make sure the coaxial cables are connected properly, also tighten the dish but you must tight it in such a way that, you can adjust its azimuth(left to right movement) and elevation( upward and downwards movement)...

1........2 Steps in successfully nailing mbc Packages
mbc channels SD is located at Nilesat 7West.. to know how to locate you degrees successfully---Read This......... note if you are moving from DSTv, Eutelsat 16east, Ses5, and eutelsat 7 east....standing at the back of your dish, you move to the right.

Use this frequency to track 11474 V 27500, with your LNB tweaked at 1 to 2.O'Clock from the back of the dish, after you have gotten signal on this frequency then, you input the frequency for mbc channels which is 11560 V 27500, then you search.

With the above details just any installer can get this satellite.... but for those that needs more insight..you should do this carefully.

Firstly track ABS 3west with this tp 11150 V 45000, its on 3west very close to Nilesat on 7west... its much more easier to track... this particular satellite elevation is high... after tracking this ABS @3west input the frequency for Nilesat 11474 V 27500 and standing at the back of the dish move the dish to the right a little and bring it down a little with your eyes on the signal meter and you should be able to get it now.....Then input the TP for MBC 11560 V 27500 and search or you blind scan...

For LNB Tweaking... it should be @ 1 to 2 o'clock from the back of the dish. but after getting the signal you can change your lnb position to 4 to 5 o'clock and change your polarization to H and test to know which position is better....If after tracking and your percentage is low...just cut your lnb to boost its reception... check the pixs below to know where and how to cut your lnb... . . .

Multi tv Ghana today, carried out an upgrade which will enhance their picture and audio quality, after the upgrade their frequency also was changed...

What this means is that they are no longer on the usuall and known ffrequency and symbol rate 12525 V 27000.

To get this rescan your decoder by changing your frequency to 12525 V 30000.... or 12522 V 29999. Then scan.

Note: joytv is still very much on same position @28.2°east.. no need to adjust your dish whatsoever, just change the frequency and symbol rate and enjoy...
