…this the book we’ve been waiting for.

Introducing the #1 Amazon bestseller, The Richest Woman in Babylon and Manhattan.

In this clever adaptation of the 1920s George Clason classic, The Richest Man in Babylon, we find seven timeless truths about getting money, keeping money + making it work for YOU — with the leading roles recast, as a trio of stylish + savvy young woman.

And as in ancient Babylon — where money was first used, treasured and squandered — so in modern-day Manhattan. Fact is: the laws of attraction, affluence + prosperity haven’t changed a bit.

Meet Ambha, the nurse-entrepreneur + yoga teacher, and Melanie, the raw food caterer + chef — two hardworking women who are stressed beyond measure + running themselves ragged with financial insecurity. Luck + serendipity carry them to Helen Gold, ‘the richest woman in Manhattan,’ who shares seven potent remedies to cure their lean purses.

Weaving real-world history with Goddess lore and practical financial prowess + enlightened spiritual jewels, the story flows from our heroines in the Big Apple back through the ages, to the wisdom of ‘the richest woman in Babylon.’

Lauded as “FUNNY, RICH, HIP, SEDUCTIVE, CLEVER and HONEST” and full of “TIMELESS WISDOM,” The Richest Woman in Babylon and Manhattan is this year’s Bible for women who want to fatten their purses — and experience the exhilaration of true financial freedom.

Yoga blissful relaxation

People practice yoga for a variety of reasons. Many yoga practitioners are interested in the health benefits that come from regularly performing the routines. Others want a state of harmony between inner and outer self. Still others practice yoga primarily to relax. The majority of my students adore the relaxation benefits.

A State of Harmony

The profound relaxation available through yoga includes a state of clarity of mind, and of compassion, harmony with and understanding of the world and your fellow men and women. If such a state of relaxation is your goal, you will need to use most of the yoga techniques available. Pay special attention to breathing, diet, correctly performing the exercises, and meditating.

The deep, prolonged breath one learns through yoga helps the brain stay oxygenated, which contributes to mental clarity. Diet influences the structure of our body as well as our brain. The exercises (called asanas and pranayamas) were developed thousands of years ago to produce beneficial results.

To have the desired effects, yoga routines must be carried out correctly. Poor yoga practices will likely produce disappointing results.

The Keys to the Kingdom of Peace

Your attitude and your focus are the keys to making your yoga experience deeply satisfying. Entering the profound stage of relaxation and synchronization between your inner and your outer self can occur only with appropriate practice.

Blissed also called Shavasana. AHHHH

Relaxation is actually a necessary part of every yoga routine. The body needs to relax after practicing the exercises, especially the more demanding ones. Certain asanas require an unusual positioning of the body, which can result in discomfort if the relaxation stage is omitted.

Bridging Worlds

Yoga connects the spiritual and material worlds, and relaxation is the bridge that brings the practitioner back fully to the present reality.

As a general rule, during relaxation exercises, you will lie down comfortably and meditate. Your yoga teacher will suggest ways for you to gradually move and position your feet and arms. Yoga routines may have different relaxation exercises, but they all have the purpose of cushioning the shock of contact with the surrounding reality. Relaxation also helps to maintain a tremendous degree of peacefulness created by the practice.

But talk is never enough. The only way to be sure of the relaxation benefits of yoga is to try it yourself. The only thing you have to lose is your stress, anxiety, pain and suffering. Oh yeah!

I offer a delicious relaxation on my best selling CD. Moms use it with their kids, couples love it, individuals who are on overload and overwhelm, nurses, caregivers, you get the idea. CLICK HERE DEAR.

WHERE IS YOUR HEAD AT?

Bottom line. You can eat all the vegan, shmegan, organic, fresh, rainbow, whole food in the world , BUT if your mind is full of negative emotions, including anger, hate, envy, resentment, jealousy, then according to Ayurveda, the sister science of yoga, you can turn all that goodie good nectar into poison.

Now on the other side, you can be eating unhealthy, overly processed so called poisons like commercial meat and poultry, snack food, sugary deserts and donuts, BUT if your mind is full of harmony, gratitude, love, joy and peace, Ayurveda states you can turn these poisons into nectar.

MESSAGE. Be mindful of where your head is at when you are eating. Your mental and emotional state does make a huge difference to how you process, digest, assimilate and eliminate your food. And how the substances turn into a sicker you or a better you.

I hope this little tid-bit from the wealth of Ayurveda serves you.

Wow! Wish I would have known this before my last 2 mammograms. The results of my last two mammo’s gave me major anxiety.

There was an “abnormal” finding and I had to go back for a second mammo, an ultra sound, AND a biopsy…only to find out that I had a cyst. Ugh! Very common for many women, SO…this is what I leaned in my research.

Dana Simpler, M.D., an internist at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore recently shared this on iVillage. “Both chocolate and caffeine can stimulate breast cysts, which are not only tender when squished, but because they look `abnormal’ on a mammogram, they’ll require more testing with a repeat mammogram or ultrasound,” She adds, “That will ultimately show the abnormality is a fluid-filled sac and not cancerous, but it still costs you time, money and anxiety.”

Tell yourself Chocolate? coffee? it’s not leaving the planet! I can have it again, after my mammogram. Hope this information serves you.

love Annette, AKA the Yoga Nurse. OH and DO share the tip here with your women friends and loved ones.

It is also likely that within moments of your death, you will be compassionately cared for by a nurse.

This is a book about life. It is about saving the rest of your life.

The Sacred Remedy is the union of the modern nursing process with the wisdom of ancient yoga. It offers a practical and mystical prescription based on a new field in health care, nursing and yoga called Yoga Nursing. Everyone, every body, every mind and wounded heart, can be illuminated, restored and renewed by embracing the techniques presented in this book. The Sacred Remedy includes four healing gems: Sacred Breath, Sacred Movement, Sacred Rest and Sacred Nourishment, founded on my Yoga Nursing and caring for more than 4000 patients and students in the USA and Canada.

DO read on for a wealth of good news, dear reader, but first allow the rebel in me to shine some light on what I see as the dark night of the soul in the system of health care that we all live and suffer under, in America, today. Health care? This so-called “care” has sadly become a sick, health care – less system. I am passionate about helping to create a health care – more system.

This book is an urgent wake up call to action. We can hope that the governing bodies will wake up and figure it out but can you and yours afford to wait until it may or may not happen in your lifetime? It is the reason why millions of you are turning to *CAM (Complementary Alternative Medicine) therapies to take your health back and become proactive, rebelling and forcing leadership to sit up and take notice. All revolutions begin with one. It is your time to be the one to make a difference in your own treatment plan.

*I am by NO means suggesting that you abandon your doctor and our medical system. We must support them. They offer brilliance when it comes to emergency medicine and life-saving procedures and surgeries. I have the utmost respect for my many excellent and dedicated colleagues. I had a total right hip replacement recently that has put an end to chronic pain that I suffered with for years. My surgeon, hospital and care giving team were wonderful and gave first-rate care to my body; there are tremendous benefits and tangible life saving results from our present-day health care. I am purely inviting you to marry the two worlds, just as I did, with my scope of training in practical and traditional nursing, which I merged with the mystical practices of yoga and meditation. My Rx presented here is a natural, complementary method to your existing plan, to treat your deepest needs and give you a vision and an achievable, non-intimidating practice that will invoke the sacred heart of healing itself, the sacred heart that has been cut out of mainstream medicine.

Health Care reform dominates the news and public debate with spending spiraling out of control and set to double. Our country is quickly going bankrupt economically and spiritually. The current focus is on disease with costly high tech, drugs and procedures. This is our dark night, yet, in every dark night there is a blessing in disguise, a light, where there are pearls to be found. These pearls are available in low cost, preventative measures and in caregiving with dignity.

Like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz, we American health care recipients, including our own doctors, nurses, and other professional medical caregivers who are getting sick themselves having to work in this system, are whirling in the midst of a tornado raging out of control: we are trapped in a web of soul sucking stress, anxiety, pain and suffering (*SAPS). I call it SAPS for short because this debilitating condition literally saps the flow of life out of us.

More than 70% of routine doctors’ visits are now related to chronic stress and anxiety; then, too, as I am sure you are aware, there is pervasive heart disease, stroke, cancer, diabetes and obesity ruining our well-being. Drug stores, donut shops and fast food restaurants are opening on every corner, fueling a gnawing nationwide hunger to numb the pain and suffering with fast-acting food and faster-acting drugs. A pill for every ill, oh, “an gimme” something fat and dead coated with a little sugar to go. We have lost our way, unable to make our way back home out of the shadowed forest, like Dante in a fear-based, hellish Inferno.

To further complicate the problem, the care-giving profession has fallen unconscious, obstructed, “STUCK,” in an outdated medical model, an old story with faulty perception that is ravaged with an internal dis-ease, as I have defined above. We have reached a point of critical stress: Health care providers, especially nurses, doctors, patients, and average, stressed out Americans–we are all chaotically seeking, but not knowing how to find, a better way.

America was founded on a rebellion. Rebels with a cause stood united against the dark night of the soul of what was rooted in the old world of dear mother England. We gave our blood to be free from a system based on a monarchy that was obstructing the transformational movement marching toward political freedom and autonomy that became our own “declaration of independence.” Thomas Paine said at that turbulent, world-changing time, “These are the times that try men’s souls!” So it is today! Our souls are being tried today along with our weary bodies. We must seek independence from a health care system that is in “devolution,” that is coming apart and becoming increasingly antithetical to the whole idea of what it means to treat, to care, and to heal the patient while “doing no harm.”

However, impeding our progress is a deep-seated fear and ignorance based in separation anxiety amongst Democratic and Republican politicians, and old-school health care providers who are at present in charge of the debilitated (and debilitating) health care system. An enormously complex issue, we are separated, culminating in an utter lack of unity consciousness. It is this unity consciousness (the experience of being one and interconnected, beyond an impoverished perception of disempowerment, liberated from being lost in protecting our separateness) which is the pearl beyond price, and is the very source of repairing the defects that are obstructing the flow of justice and healing for all of us.

There is hope for careful, excellent health care, and it’s happening now. The good news is CAM (Complementary and Alternative Medicine) therapies, such as Ayurveda, acupuncture, traditional Chinese medicine, tai-chi, meditation, yoga, herbs, a plant based diet, nutraceuticals, Reiki, and other types of energy-based treatments, are slowly bringing conventional medical providers<ins cite="mailto:Annette%20Tersigni" datetime="2011-07-14T01:00"> </ins>around to unite with their CAM colleagues to give patients comprehensive treatment plans. We CAM rebels, as health care professionals, are building unity between the two models instead of enforcing separation. Bingo! United we stand, separated we fall.

Old Model of Health Care: SEPARATION ANXIETY

New Model of Health Care: UNITY CONSCIOUSNESS

After many long years of suffering in early American history, the rebels were triumphant and the United States was born, dedicated to the assurance of liberty and justice for all. And fortunately, like the brave rebels in the American Revolutionary War, there are rebels in America today, rebels in the health care system. I call them sacred medical activists, a new tribe of individuals who are defending liberty and justice for all in health care. These activists include some of my major-league mentors and colleagues: Drs. Deepak Chopra and David Simon (It was my amazing grace to have studied personally with Deepak and David, an experience which literally blew my mind and altered the course of my life); Jean Watson, Dean Ornish, Andrew Weill, Alejandro Junger, Caldwell Esselstyn, Bill Manahan, Sandra McClanahan, Christiane Northrup, Mehmet Oz, Michael Roizen, Candace Pert, and many others.<ins cite="mailto:Susan%20Ketchin%20Admin" datetime="2011-07-13T00:29"> </ins><ins cite="mailto:Susan%20Ketchin%20Admin" datetime="2011-07-13T12:07"></ins>

These wellness warriors are modern-day revolutionaries: they are thought leaders, change agents, and visionaries who are spiritually akin to our nation’s fore fathers and mothers. I am one of these modern-day rebels, a health care Rebel With A Cause. My cause is to give sacred service, to relieve stress, anxiety, pain, and suffering and to expand consciousness in health care for distressed individuals in all walks of life, including regular folks, caregivers and their patients. Perhaps you are already active in this movement or you seek to be part of our tribe, as I am. Perhaps you are just beginning to see the urgent need for renewal and relief from stress that I have described.

These CAM rebels, once considered the redheaded stepchildren of our existing conservative medical structure, are now at the forefront of a needed change in health care that focuses on the whole individual, on alternative treatments, on all-inclusive, integrated patient care plans, and on patients’ rights. CAM leaders are creating an emerging fresh paradigm in health care that is centered on unity consciousness versus separation anxiety. Separation anxiety is ever the cause of SAPS (Stress, anxiety, pain and suffering).

No matter where you are in the journey toward wholeness, I invite you to join with me and this esteemed, committed group of colleagues, nurses, doctors, professional caregivers and many concerned individuals who are expanding unity consciousness through the incredibly exhilarating world of Complementary Alternative Medicine (CAM). My Sacred Remedy program, as presented in this book, is an essential, integral part of this groundbreaking, evolutionary concept of Medicine.

TO BE CONTINUED…if you resonated with the health care rebel in me and want to read the whole book, then DO subscribe to my newsletter, upper right hand corner of this page ^^^

This enlightening story is about a time when I was in South India, in a remote holy village called Tiruvannamalai, where my wisdom teacher, Hugo, dropped a “bomb” which exploded in my mystical heart! I hope it illuminates you.

Hugo received masses of correspondence from students asking for guidance, from all over the world. On this late afternoon, with peacocks nearby, exotic birds singing their love songs, and the fragrance of exotic flowers wafting thru the open windows of our cozy teaching room, Hugo unfolded a letter. The letter was from an African American woman named Joy. Joy was in her thirties, well educated, and had been suffering from a childhood trauma that was unresolved. She had followed the course of seeing several different expert psychologists over many years and was also a student of Hugo’s teachings. Hugo read a few lines from her letter to the group.( I should add here that Hugo did not disclose anything personal to us as a matter of protecting confidentiality, he shared only that part which was pertinent to the lesson he was about to teach us.)

Joy wrote, “ I have found a new psychologist in Boston to help me deal with my story and I feel very hopeful. We are going to the roots of my problem.” Hugo took off his glasses, paused pointedly, and gazed out at us with his piercing blue eyes. The energy changed palpably in the room and we all shuffled a little in our seats. We waited with bated breath knowing that something heavy was about to be emitted. This is what he said…

“Going to the roots of your problems only augments them,

It gives them strength,

Going to the roots of your being,

Liberates from all problems whatsoever.”

Bulls eye. I have shared this with thousands of my students, and now I am blogging it. I encourage you to breathe deeply into this wisdom. Go back and re-read it. Pause. Close your eyes for a moment and let it sink in to your being. Do NOT let it go to your head! Allow it; invite it instead, into your mystical heart. It is a vital part of your awakening and freedom from endless *S.A.P.S. Stress, anxiety, pain and suffering. May you be illuminated and uplifted and breathe a deep sigh of release…and relief. Blissings xo
