Anyways, I just got a spam comment on one of my older posts, and then remembered I had a blog. So I tried to login, and what do you know, I forgot the  password for my own fucking blog! Damn, it took me about 12 minutes to figure out the password reset was meant for the username “admin.” So I guess I’m pretty drunk even though that Barbera didn’t taste anything a Barbera should taste like.

I think I have to apologize to you if you happen to read this post thinking I might have a point to make or give you any useful information or the meaning of life or some such thing because, hey, I logged in to see if my newly reset password would work… or something… I’m not sure..

But there IS a good news! I just deleted 14 spam comments! That’s FOURTEEN!!! Rejoice with me! I did not put an order for a penile enlargement product! Not that I wasn’t tempted, mind you, although I don’t have the right equipment to be enlarged, but if you’re familiar with my blog, you know I’m a sucker for that too-good-to-be-true product of the century. But I resisted and came out victorious! Ahh…. ’tis a glorious day.

I don’t know if I ever blogged about that time when I got the finger prick test for blood sugar… or something…  at the health fair held at work several years ago. The man pricked my finger. Naturally I screamed from the bottom of my belly, a very big one at that, “OOOOWWWWWW!” The man went, “YOU JUST CLEARED THE ENTIRE LINE!” Of course, he exaggerated, but when I looked round, I saw a girl jump out of the line looking very worried who proceeded to ask me, “It hurts, right?” Naturally, I honestly answered, “Hell, yeah,” to which the man who mercilessly poked my finger vehemently retorted, “IT DOESN’T HURT!” to which I shot right back, “It does too! Why would I scream if it doesn’t?”

So you see, when I heard “Injection to the spine,” every single strand of hair on my body stood up. To the spine? How big a needle could that be to go into the spine???? So I have been preoccupied with these two words “Injection” and “Spine” for a week or so. Not a bad thing if I think about it, considering how I’ve been depressed for all these months. But what can you do… Not being able to sit up because of the pain equals not being able to drive equals not being able to go to work – which in and of itself is a very good thing, but which ultimately equals not being able to get the paychecks. Ain’t life a bitch… sigh… That reminds me, I need to buy that Power Ball lotto ticket.

Anyway, so I had to make an appointment with the pain medicine doctor. By the way, Pain Medicine? Sounds kinda sadistic, doesn’t it? Quite appropriately, I might add. And guess what? My back already feels better. I think the threat of a big fucking needle going into my spine cured it for me. My right thigh which has been numb for the last two weeks when it doesn’t hurt is not even numb. And look ma! No pain!

Now I don’t know what to do. Should I cancel the appointment with the sadistic doctor? And if I do cancel, would the pain come back? What to do… what to do…

But by Monday evening, I decided something was definitely wrong with his rear right paw and possibly also the left paw because he kept lifting his paws off the ground, mostly the right one but sometimes the left one as well. I tried to take a look, but he almost ripped my face off when I touched his paw. So without a second set of hands to hold him, all I could see was a little bit of his paw getting a little raw from him licking. I decided to take him to the vet on Wednesday if he didn’t get better.

Yesterday I dropped Foster off at the vet in the morning, and let me not digress and talk about the receptionist again this time cause it will just frustrate the shit out of me even more. Foster’s paws had been getting worse, not being able to play with Georgia and having trouble pooping since he has a hard time getting into the position to push since he keeps trying to lift his rear right paw off the ground. But I wasn’t worried too much because I thought it was some superficial wound like a little cut on his paw pad made worse by him licking.

The vet found out not only his rear paws, but all four of his paws have skin legions or ulcers that look as if he scraped them on a rough concrete surface. The rear left paw was in the worst condition. The vet thinks Foster has Lupus because not only there was no such occasion for Foster to have hurt his paws like that but it’s very uncommon for a dog to hurt ALL of his paws like that. He’s pretty sure it is lupus since he has seen enough cases like this even though the only way to make sure is to do a biopsy.

I am angry. I am tired. I am frustrated. I am afraid I’m about to crack.

For now, I came home with antibiotics and anti-inflammatory for the wounds. If his paws don’t get better after this round of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory, then we’ll go from there and treat it with steroids. In the mean time, I’m looking into natural remedies that would help with canine lupus, but it looks even the most holistically minded people seem to say the steroid is the way to go (from what I’ve found out in a very short period of time). If you have dealt with canine lupus or know anybody who has, please let me know. I would like to hear about the experience.
