Base Jumper’s Terror Caught On Film As Parachute Fails (Video)

Matthew Gough, an experienced base jumper, was base jumping at Lake Garda, Italy when his parachute opened backwards and became twisted after he leapt from a cliff. The whole stomach-churning ordeal was filmed by a camera on his helmet. Despite bouncing off the cliff and crashing to earth, he survived and escaped with minor injuries.

Gough, who has been base jumping for three years and clocked up an impressive 180 perfect base jumps fell a total of 1,000 ft until he hit the ground. He was found at the foot of the cliff virtually unharmed except for minor injuries to his knees and ankle.

Following a brief hospital stay he returned home to Lichfield in Birmingham. Despite his parents being desperate for him to stop, he has plans to jump again soon. Image Source: Screenshot/SWNS Group/2013

Cancer Survivor Can Rotate Her Leg 180 Degrees

Jen O’Shea is able to rotate her leg a full 180 degrees with no pain or effort at all. Her bizarre flexibility is the result of an operation following the treatment of a rare form of bone cancer – called Ewing’s sarcoma. After being diagnosed with bone cancer O’Shea underwent treatment in 2011 in which surgeons removed the entire right side of her pelvis without replacing it.

She had to endure months of physiotherapy and had to learn how to walk again but only realised she could twist her leg last year. At first she was reluctant to show off her bizarre flexibility but soon she decided to show everyone by posting her unique skill online in a video on Youtube. Her video went viral and soon reached more than 200,000 hits. Jen O’Shea hopes that she might reach some publicity through the video and win an appearance on Ellen’s Degeneres weird hidden talents competition.

26-Year-Old Makes 1 Billion Dollar Deal

The 26-year-old founder of the blogging site Tumblr, David Karp, is about to become a Billion dollar richer. Yahoo’s board of directors agreed to buy his popular blogging platform, Tumblr, which boasts about 100 million users and 90 million posts per day, for $1.1 billion cash. Karp founded the company out of his mother’s small Manhattan apartment in 2007. Although its revenue counted for only $13 million last year, after $125 million in capital investments Yahoo is still prepared to pay big bucks.

If you don’t know what Tumblr is, I have never used it, Tumblr is a micro-blogging platform for quickly posting pictures, text and video, and it also functions as a social media site. Tumblr boasts remarkable loyalty among its users. Some 85 percent of Tumblr users make 20 or more posts a month.

Although opposed to the deal in the beginning, Karp a a high school dropout who taught himself how to code, has finally agreed to the deal. In 2008, he sold a 25 percent stake to investors for $750,000. It is unclear how large a stake in the company Karp maintained before the Yahoo deal.

Man Tries To Escape Lover’s Husband Through Window (Video)

Whenever you are having a romance with a married woman make sure her husband doesn’t come home halfway through your love session. A video released on YouTube shows a distressed secret lover making his getaway through a window while a couple fight on a balcony next to him. It seems that the couple are actually the wife and her husband – who seems to have caught his wife cheating.

The situation itself gets even worse and embarrassing for the escaping Romeo when a crowd starts gathering outside the apartment and everyone starts cheering his every move. The man, dressed only in white boxers, eventually had to jump onto an inflatable pad put out by firefighters.

It seems though this could be staged especially as there are people watching and an emergency crew is also present. My best guess is that this is some advertising campaign for a business or something along those lines.

www.myageingparent.com is a unique information and signposting website aimed at helping people aged 40-65+ to care for their elderly relatives and friends by providing all the information they might ever need in one place.
Launched almost a year ago, the website has been very well received and is growing rapidly. It is already being used by many councils and GP practices as an additional resource for their adult services provision.
Our primary aim is to drive traffic to our site and we want help to do this.
An important part of our growth has been our social media activity and we wish to grow the effectiveness of this much further very quickly. We are looking for an intern who can help us achieve this goal.
Specifically, we need someone who is talented at developing Facebook and Twitter in terms of driving ‘likes’ and ‘follows’ and who can significantly improve the interactive nature of these two social media platforms and others in order to drive traffic to the website as whole. In addition, the successful candidate would also work to develop the online forum to encourage users to visit and post comments, as well as developing links to other forum sites.

Qualifications

The successful candidate would be:

• Technologically able to help with all technical aspects of the website as required (wordpress experience essential)
• Able to manage and develop the effectiveness of Facebook and Twitter and other social media platforms
• Able to develop and manage the success of the online forum and offsite forums
• Able to follow clear briefs
• Fluent English speaker essential, with ability to write small sections of web site copy
• Enthusiastic, personable and hard-working
• Have access to their own laptop/PC and preferably Photoshop

The work requirement would be:
• Equivalent of up to 2 days per week working flexibly for a period of six months ( after initial trial of two weeks)
• Remote working with meetings and communication with website owners
• Based in London
• Payment : expenses only

• Invaluable experience of working with a start-up business
• Experience of website management
• Practical experience in use of digital social media in a live environment
