A rare Wefie from us. Hardly ready for the picture to be taken but there was a group of people arrived with a couple of boxes of fireworks and firecrakers. Playing firecrakers and fireworks In the temple compounds is part of the Chinese tradition during the new year. It is said to pleased the deities and fairies whom in return will bless and bestow more richness to the person or the family.

Although it is not a compulsory thing to do, the mere visit and prayer with a little donation would do. For us, compare to a normal prayer, this year we chose golden color jossticks. A bundle only costs RM3. Some might want to bring extra things as an offerings such as barbequed pig, fruits and even fresh flowers.

So, on the 7th day of the new year, is called human's birthday. On 14th day, is the closing ceremony of the new year celebration. I'll tell you more about it on the next post.

Never stop living...don't let a few bumps stop you.

Our life now quite sombre and quiet. I actually kind of like it this way and sometimes, enjoying this slow pacing life in sub-urban.

Basically everyone is running their errand for half a day from very early morning ( 430am or 5am, compared to what we used to in big city, Johor Bahru ) until 2pm. Afterward, life slows down quite drastically.

The haze cause by bush fire around Bandar Baru Permyjaya is not getting any better. I appreciate the effort made by the fire department but in during this time of the year, not much can be done. At least they are doing something about it, right? So don't complain. :)

I was astounded by some residents that are still make open fire within their house compound. I know, there are alot of dried leaves and strong afternoon wind that blow them into the house. I hate the situation as well. In addition, my two dogs love to play on the ground and always bring back some dried leaves tuck away on their fur. Hehehehe...not helping at all.

I literally can't breath whenever there's an open fire nearby. So, every afternoon i crank on my two aircond until morning. Ridiculous!

There is a better way to deal with dried leaves, right? There should be.

Much Ado About Wallet

I found out so much hoohah about this wallet last week when one of my guy friend showing off the awesome-ness of it. Not only it protects credit cards, you can keep your cash in it as well because the compartments inside are quite spacious. If you have lots of member cards, debit cards and credit card, you might want to seriously consider having one of this smart looking wallet.
The wallet itself is quite light and has great color. Frankly speaking i'm impress! :p

If you been to Labuan 5 years ago, you didn't miss anything this time. Heck, even if you were here 10 years ago, you didn't notice much difference. Accept for surau & Siswazah Corner at the waterfront. Next to HSBC Bank. Plus, lots of budget hotels.

I studied here in '99 when KML still 'tumpang' UMS buildings and borrowed SMS Labuan's Lab. Around 3000+ students & staffs arrived during that time. Imagine the 1999 population explosion in Labuan caused by us : KML students are everywhere. Just close your eyes and point to one direction, sure you see one KML student. hihihi...

So, fast forward 2011. This recent trip obviously leisure. Lain planning, lain jadinya. Hehehe...

Since we bring our car to Labuan via carferry from Menumbok, we are able to drive around the FT twice. Up to Manikar, down to UMS, up again to Peace Park then turn around passing by ( girl slept so cannot go down ) the bird park and the chimney finally straight down back to town. Some old roads have been widen, and some are newly open road. In the evening, we went to liquor shop and bought a bottle of glenfiddich 18. Mostly, angkut coklat lah. I wanted to bought some wine, but forgot. No thanks to Miss Yovela. Want to eat already!

Oh ya, ada SCR di Labuan. The problem is the place is too small and everybody wanted to use the new toilet. Our food arrived 30 mins after ordering. On the way back to hotel, we bought some imported beer just in case feels thirsty in the midnight. Inside hotel fridge have two cans of Heineken but...we're in Labuan la...try some other brand la right? Some imported beer are cheaper than a can of Cola, still.

FengShui : What does your door can do for you and your family?

Regardless of the color of your door or which direction does it face, it is important to keep it clean and in good condition.

Do not leave your main door broken, squeak or even chipped paint. It will only disturb the the 'Chi' flow toward your home.

Make sure your door function well. It should be able to be open and close easily. Get rid of any obstacles or obstruction on the doorway. It will only hinder opportunities from coming to you.

Oil, repair or paint you door to prevent squeak, broken or chipped paint.

When you enter your house, make sure no clutter is visible.

With 20 minutes free time left before my daughter come back from her nursery, i was thinking of adding a new post for this blog. However 10 minutes browsing through the internet and reading my facebook, i still have no idea what to type.

It's raining right now in Kota Kinabalu, heavy rain! It's 430pm and i haven't decide what to cook for dinner. Pork haven't thaw. Rice haven't cook. Haih... -.-

Oh ya.I sent Bob for grooming this morning and found out he's infested with ticks! Yikes! Anyway, the problem is under control now. The groomer already sprayed Fronliner on him to kill those pesky ticks. I still need to bring him back to the groomer on Friday for follow up treatment. Pity him...

Luckily the groomer is very understanding and helped to get rid of most of the ticks. Now after sprayed with Frontliner, he smell like gasoline. Hahaha...what to do? Effective drug/ poison always smells funny.

I apply soothing Tea Tree Cream on his dry joints and paws. He fell asleep during the 'massage'. Such a spoilt brat!

Kitchen Fengshui

The main goal of Feng Shui is to identify forms of energy in the house and determine which flow of energy is more beneficial for the occupants of the house. Blocked, stagnant chi or too fast can lead to loss of opportunity, loss of health, vitality and happiness.

Being the heart of the house, where friends and family gather, Feng Shui is very important for the kitchen. Kitchen's Chi affect the food storage supply and food preparation. Thus, affects family's health and wellbeing.

Kitchen Clutter:
Clutter is a constant source of frustration and frustration also blocks Chi. The kitchen should be a happy place and not a room full of troubles. Remember this, always keep the kitchen clean, tidy and clutter-free.

All type of doors available in the kitchen must be easily open and without anything blocking its way. This applies to all doors in the kitchen such as refrigerator door, oven door, cupboards and drawers.

Storage is the best way to keep the clutter away from view. Store all the unneccesary, non-daily appliances under the table. Only the devices used on a daily basis should be available on the counter. Knives are 'cutting chi' and must be stored safely away out of sight.

Clutter attracts more clutter. Keep all non-kitchen stuff away from the kitchen such as children's toys, laundry, shoes ans so on. All these clutters only make one's feel life is a struggle.

Remember, dust is also considered as clutter too. So keep the kicthen clean and dry.

All the hardware should be functional and in good condition. Never keep broken pieces in the kitchen unfix or just thrown it away and replace with a new one.Fix any broken hinges or drawer pulls. Replace burned out bulbs. Ensure that the stove is working and use them in rotation to keep the energy circulating.

Broken or chipped crockery, glassware, cooking utensils or dishes turns good Feng Shui to negative. It is very important to get rid of these items.

Check for dripping faucets or leaking pipes. They symbolises money and resources draining away. Discard the dirty dish water immediately everytime to prevent accumulation of stagnant energy.

All the clock in the house must be in good working condition and show the correct time. Change the battery immediately. Dead clock in the house means a halted progress and that life is not going anywhere.

It is easy to ignore expired canned food at the back of the cupboard. But that's exactly what harmfs the beneficial Chi. Always tidy up your canned food supply in the cabinets and refrigerator. Discard stale crackers, oil rancid and rotten food. Keep your spice container full and tidy. A half empty container means unfinished projects.

The direction of the door is very important when figuring house fengshui. Since it is the mouth of chi, the direction of the front door tells you what kind of energy is predominant in the house. For example, if your main door facing the North you should be aware of a Ba Gua area of the house and all the issues involved. It may be that the person has problems towards the north gate of career or who are very independent and it is difficult to maintain long-term relationships. To determine the direction of your main door, stand in front of the front door while your back is facing the inside of your house. Do not take the direction your front door while standing in front of you are looking inside the house.

There are some colors and materials that best support each other in the direction of the door (and Ba Gua). Choosing the right color and element supports and nourishes the people back home. Here are some guidelines you can follow:

North facing door: blue, black, white, wooden

North East facing door: orange, purple, yellow, terracotta

East facing door: green, blue, turquoise, wooden

South East facing door: green, turquoise, blue, wooden

South facing door: red, pink, purple, wooden

South West facing door: pink, peach, apricot, orange, yellow

West facing door: yellow, white, gold, magenta, silver

Feng Shui is a Chinese philosophy based on recognition of the innate power of natural elements around you like the wind and water. The philosophy is built around the concept of Chi ( Qi ), the energy that leads to wealth and success in the life of a person. The philosophy of Feng Shui can be applied to your garden as well. For a garden designed and constructed in accordance with these principles is called Garden Feng Shui.

Planting some plants in a way so that the positive and beneficial Chi is transferred to you is the concept in Feng Shui garden. It is believed that Chi is generally present all around us. But it is concentrated on a few sites that require planning your garden is in line with the placement of beneficial Chi. Areas of Chi is supposed to bring tons of happiness and prosperity to the person who have the Feng Shui garden. Fire, wood, metal, water and earth are the elements of chi in Feng Shui philosophy.

Chi energy is concentrated in some areas it is advisable to build your garden in the curves and balanced proportions. One important aspect of building a Feng Shui garden is the YANG energy associated with it. Good lightings and space attracts YANG energy in the garden. It is advisable to keep the garden bright with some garden lights on the southwest of your garden. This will ensure a happy marriage life for you. Do your best to include the five elements of Feng Shui in the garden to reap the benefits.

How to include all the five elements: fire, wood, metal, water and earth in your garden? Be creative in building your garden Chi. If you sow the seeds that grows red flowers, then the element of fire is represented. Growing trees or a bonsai would bring the element of wood to the garden. Erect a bronze statue or bronze colored statue or a sundial in a certain area of the garden to ensure that the metal element also present. Building a pond with a few fish in it or a fountain in the centre of the garden is a good idea to include water-factor in the garden. The earth element by using clay vases or adding small gravel or clay walkway can be addes in Feng Shui garden.

Additionally, make sure your garden does not include any sharp shapes such as squares or rectangular. It is better to have the whole garden in a circular shape or octagon. But make sure the octagon edges are soft edges. The color red or bright orange is said to increase Chi and so it is advisable to grow more plants, resulting in bright colored flowers. To allow Chi gently find its place in your home, it is better to bend the trajectory in the garden in front of your house.

In Fengshui, bathroom is where the drain is located and therefore it reduces the owner position from guaranteed optimal energy for the bedroom, living room and other key locations in the house. The draining power effectiveness depends on its location in the house. Here are some effort that you can do to prevent excessive drainage and maintain the house's fengshui integrity.

Bathroom is always has a draining energy within it regardless where it is located. To avoid the draining energy from taking away the beneficial chi from your house, place a full length mirror or a small one on the bathroom door. This will prevent the flow of chi in your home from draining into the bathroom. Always keep the door closed, the toilet lid down and keep the drain closed or covered when not in use.

When your bathroom is on the ground floor or on the first floor above your front door or the kitchen, it can be just as destructive energy in these important areas. If located in the lobby, the bathroom it will distrupt the chi flow. If located on first floor, on top of the main door, it may gives the harmful energy to this important area. Above kitchen area, the energy will drink up the energy of home cooking and flood the area with negative energy.

Don't worry. There are many approaches you can take to prevent the draining. For example, a picture or a statue of something natural and lively like a bird or a tree or flowers, as an illustration, in the kitchen or bathroom below. Plus, blocking this draining by hanging a multi-faceted crystal from the bathroom ceiling, being in the center as possible. Or, hang a mirror above the toilet to prevent the escape of energy through the plumbing. Place an object made of natural earth such as clay statue, terracotta tiles or vases in all corners of the bathroom. Earth materials must approve the adjustment to cover the water in the bathroom, which could create a safe environment chi from flowing out of the house.

If your bathroom is in the middle of the house, it can also be a condition. Being in a centre of the house, it is the worst location to be. In Fengshui point of view, because it could destabilize all the energy in your home. To counter this, you should take a very drastic measure. Paint your walls red, bright, warm colors will obsolete the negative energy. Place a full length mirror opposite the door and place an object based on natural earth such as soil or clay stone in every corner of the room.

Here are my ten tips to improve the flow of Chi in the front door or the driveway:

1. Keep the front door or entrance clear obstructions such as refuse sacks, trees and children's toys. The main door is the source of chi and you do not want to prevent the vital energy to enter the house.

2. Once inside, do not block the aisle with many shoes, coats, shoes, bicycles and bags. It's a good idea to take your shoes off when entering a house to ensure cleanliness, but ensure they are stored in an area specifically designed for them. Stored shoes were also ensures that keep the energy of the external world than the world inside your home.

3. Make sure you use your front door. Sometimes it is tempting to use a garage or side door depending on where you park your car. This means that all the positive chi entering your house has nowhere to go - it's lost chi and represent missed opportunities. So get used to using your front door as the main entrance of your home.

4. Make sure your door opens easily and fully without any obstruction. If the door bounces or stick on a carpet inside will minimize the flow of Chi. 5. Make sure the door is clearly visible and outstanding, especially if it's a side of the house. If visitors are not sure what the knock on the door may prevent the new opportunities coming your way. You can clearly limit the space around the front door, shrubs, decorative lighting (preferably uplighters) and paint. Define the symbols will also increase the feeling of protection.

6. Installation of lights on each side of the door lifting the energy in the entrance with the positive Yang energy. You can also use light to raise the chi inside the front door to make you feel lifted enter your room.

7. Make sure you have a brass hammer to literally take their hands with which you go in life. Brass fittings and accessories must always be polished to deflect negative chi into the house.

8. Make sure your mail or mailbox is in good condition. The mailbox represents your contact with the outside world. Any problem with the mailbox can chase away every opportunity to come your way. The same applies to the doorbell, if you have one, need to be in good condition.

9. Faded or peeled paint on the front door is an indication of the exhaustion of chi, give it a beautiful coat of new paint. Most important, the main door must be cleared from any dirt, dirty grease and bird's droppings.

10. Curved path to the front door is a better direction of chi compared to the straight path as it is an opportunity to meander with curves (a symbol you are going to flow) and you will have more time catches the opportunity that come by your door. Straight lines speed up the flow of chi, and can often be overpowering.

One way to solve this is a place outside the ba gua mirror (with the trigram outside) on the door to turn some of the overpowering energy away. You may opt for polished brass knocker as t serves the same purpose.

Door Feng Shui Direction

You can also hang a wind chime through the front door to slow down the flow of speeding Chi (a ring of five-cylinder is the best). Or, placing potted plants and shrubs around your front door slow down the fast flowing Chi. Remember to keep the plants or plants to be well maintain and trimmed.

The direction of the front door is very important.

First, you need to be in the centre of the house with the fengshui compass. From there, you divide the house into four sections. Determine which section does your main door in.

In Feng Shui, the direction of your front door is vital. As the chi entrance, the direction of the door indicates what type of energy is widespread or playing the main role in the home.

For example, if you have a door to the North before you want to keep the spirit of Zone 1 of the Ba Gua in the home and all related issues. Maybe the person with a gateway to the North has problems surrounding the quarry are very independent and hard to maintain a long term relationship.

The portal of the west (7 area of Ba Gua): yellow, white, gold, magenta, silver

Northwest side door (7 area Ba Gua): magenta, gold, silver, white, yellow

2011 of Rabbit's year doesn't look promising for a Rooster. So i guess i need all the celestial help that i can get my hands on. It might not be the worst year, just stagnant. No progress from where i am right now in all aspect of my life.

I want a positive progress in a lot of things. Just to think of all of it already put stress to my brain. I need to destress a lot from now on because i can feel it already make me less of a person i want to be in my entire life.

OK. First, let us learn some fengshui.

2011 The Rabbit's Year

The last few hours of the last day of 2010. I just can't bring myself to sleep just to think about it. Another year coming and i feel i haven't accomplished anything yet. I have been thinking to myself this couple of weeks. I have to admit i am a little intimidated.

2011, i will be 30. For me it is something i wish would never come. I still want to be in the 20's! I noticed some long lines on my forehead getting longer and deeper...anyone has a wrinkle eraser?! How i wish!

I sleep a lot recently. I have so many things in my mind, i really need to shut my brain off more frequent. But even when i sleep, i dream that i am thinking of things! My God, Help me!
