This TV is just awesome and I love every aspect of it.

First of all, the exterior design is dark, sleek and really attractive, it mainly continues with the line of Samsung designs we’ve grown to love.

The TV isn’t heavy at all so it’s easy to move around and set up, be it the normal stand or the wall mount.

The image will blow your mind. It’s just as awesome as it comes. The 60,000:1 aspect ratio gives a pretty nice black-to-white transference and the brightness is really good too. The colors are really vivid and really make the images stand out.

I have an xbox360 and a PS3 hooked up to it and the gaming experience is just mind blowing. The blu-rays on this thing are just breath-taking, the image is really sharp and clear and brightness and color depth will really amaze you.

Many people have critisized the built-in speakers, but I think the sound is really good and clear. I also have it hooked to a 5.1 home theater system, but the built-in sound is not bad at all.

The price is excellent IMO, I paid U5.00 and it arrived in perfect conditions.

Overall I think this item is a great buy. An excellent TV for a very good price. Highly recommended.

Smokin’ – literally! – Family of 4 – New Jersey, USA
TV was purchased less than 6 months ago. Was a “secondary” TV and was probably used a total of less than 50-75 hours. Yesterday morning started smelling a nasty electrical fire kind of a smell. TV was still working while I ran around trying to figure out where the smell was originating. In those few minutes the whole house got filled with this nasty smoke. Figured out it was the TV and unplugged it. Plugged the TV in again just to check in the evening. Great sound, no picture, still stinks. Anybody need a stinky 40′ flat screen RADIO?

had this tv for about a month now. we don’t have cable so it is mainly used for watching movies and playing video games. i am very happy with the colors and the picture is tight. movies and 360 games look great on it. i would buy this tv again, samsung almost always makes a quality product. also, product was delivered via pilot freight services. this was my first experience with them and i read mixed reviews. i had no problems with the delivery. the delivery truck arrived when they said it would and they called about a half hour before arrival to make sure i was home.

I also have a Samsung 58PN560 to compare to, so…..

The color is great out of the box, whereas i fiddled with the plasma a lot more.

The matte screen does a great job of limiting reflections in a sunny room with a big picture window. I don’t know if they make many models any more with a matte screen, but I would highly recommend it.

Watched half of the superbowl on the TV and noticed no streaking or blurring of motion of any kind.

Only thing I can’t seem to find on this TV is how to set the time – not sure if it is a feature or not. Don’t really need the instructions to get up and running.

Sound is better than on last tv…36″ Toshiba – picture tube and all…probably 175 lbs.

I searched high and low for a 40 to 42in TV and this was the best deal on the market. I was being told by salesmen (and reviews) that Samsungs had the best picture and I found them to look pretty good as well. But for the price range I was in (00) I was not finding the specs I wanted. (120Hz, 42in, 1080p, auto light adjust, swivel base) As a matter of fact, it was very hard to find a reputable TV maker with a 120Hz 42 in that price point. Then I stumbled across the 42LGX. I thought the TV was stunning looking with the scarlet red on the back, the chrome colored base and the clear, see-through power circle. It had all those specs and the picture was absolutely stunning! I looked at it side by side next to a comparable Samsung and the pictures were very similar. When comparing to the Samsung models in the same price, the picture was better. Samsung would only offer a 60Hz TV at that price point with a 40in screen. It just looked way smaller. The LG was a no brainer. The only thing that made the decision difficult was the 42LG70. It had the exact same specs, but it wasn’t 1.8in thick. It was on clearance as a display model for 0 and the LGX was brand new for 9. The Samsung closest in price and features was about 00. I ended up buying at Fryes Electronics with a 5 year warranty and I’m very happy with the deal.

I use the TV with my computer (I disconnected my cable TV) to watch movies and TV shows over the internet and it works great. I use Windows Media Center and I have no problem getting full and wide screen shows in high def. I also use a video capture card that gives me all the features of a HD DVR. I get HD over the air and it looks way better than cable or satellite on this TV. The TV works very well as a second monitor with the DVI connection. You cannot tell if you’re watching TV piped from the computer or directly on the TV – it looks that good. Also, when people see it, they can’t believe I don’t have cable.

I would highly recommend this TV to anyone. Easy to set up – I didn’t even make any changes to the color settings at all. Right out the box, it looked great. And the menus and just so simple. It’s fairly light, connections are easy to make, it’s just a great looking TV. If you can find it on sale, buy it! You won’t be sorry.

42″ LGX TV – T. Lallathin Jr. –
The best looking picture I have ever seen. TV adjusts to different light as you turn them on and off. Very clear and crisp picture. Sound is amazing don’t even need surround sound.

Have had this TV for about 3 years now, and it was one of the best deals I’ve ever found. I did a lot of research, and this model had everything I needed (at the time) at an unbelievable price compared to other brands with the same specs. The picture quality if wonderful, especially the HD channels on my cable. Every time I’m in a store with HDTVs on display, none of them seem to compare to the great picture I get on my Soyo.

However, I’ve just purchased a PS3, mainly for the Blu-ray player, and realized I wasn’t getting full resolution because the TV resolution goes to 1080i only, but full Blu-ray needs 1080p. I had bookmarked a review from 2006 saying there was really no reason to buy 1080p at that time, and I took that advise. That’s no longer the case.

If you don’t care about Blu-ray (the TV does an amazing job with regular DVDs), then this is probably still a great deal.

As another reviewer mentioned, this model had an update somewhere along the way. Mine is the older model with just one HDMI input, so perhaps they’ve updated to provide 1080p resolution.

Soyo burn out !! – J. David Morris – Denver
A friend and I each bought a 32″ Soyo at a great price of 700.00 (at the time) after mail in re-bate. 9 months later we still had not received our 75.00 rebate and both of us had to leave nasty messages to get Soyo to honor their rebate program. The TVs had a one year warranty on them and a month after my warranty was over my soyo TV bit the dust. A month later (14 months after purchase) my friend’s Soyo died. Since Soyo has no authorised service stations anywhere but in California (again at the time) we discovered we were going to have to pack up the TVs and ship them to California to be repaired and pay the freight coming and going and it was going to cost at least 400.00 and possibly 600.00 to get the sets repaired. So we junked them and bought Samsungs with an extended warranty (which was not offered when we purchase the Soyos). The Soyo’s picture was great but I lost 750.00 on a HDTV that lasted a little over a year. Soyo total burn out !!

I got the first set in February of 2008 but had to return it since it had 1 bad pixel which was a bright green dot near the top center of the screen. I had no problem returning it to the vendor which was great “wegotbetterdeals” and I highly recommend them. The reason I am not upset was because the Amazon details of this product were incorrect. Both the sets I received must of been updated models even tho they were SYTPT3227AB 32inch models. This model has (3) HDMI ports, not one and a 8ms response time, not 12ms as stated in the description. Needless to say this more then made up for the first set I received with the bad pixel. Set has been working great as of 4/24/2008 and has a quick startup time. Only issue I had was with my Cablevision remote won’t operate the TV as well as many other universal remotes I tried. Solution is to buy a “Learning Remote”. I am using a SONY RM-VL600 and it was under 30 bucks. Also has the option to turn the TV and cable box on and off with one button if you program it. Hope this helps everyone.

**Disclaimer: As of this review date, I have only had the TV for a couple of weeks; so I could not really tell you about any issues that could develop (as with any TV) over time.

This television is perhaps the best I’ve ever seen in it’s own right, but then combine that with the price that’s being offered and you really have an unbeatable deal!

Picture quality is astounding, in that colors, blacks, whites, and grays are all accurately and sharply reproduced, and I really don’t see how you can get a much better picture than this on any TV out there. Plus, you don’t need to turn contrast and saturation up to “fake” a solid picture – put this baby on THX mode and you’ve got all the color and contrast you need in a picture that truly does match the intended output of the source material.

All sources I have tried look great – Blu-Ray is absolutely astonishing, upscaled DVDs really look like HD, and both standard and HD television look as great as they can.

If you are looking for the best possible picture for a very reasonable price, you need to get this.

I could give you a few minor nits (the remote isn’t the most intuitive, for example), but if you’re like me and what you care about most is your high-def picture, with minimal negatives, this comes highly recommended! I really wasn’t expecting the quality to be THIS good when I bought it.

But don’t just take the word on Amazon for it – do your research and see what the consensus is on this TV. That’s what I did, and there isn’t a reviewer out there who has given this less than a near-perfect review.

Everything I was looking for in a Flat Screen TV – BikerLance –
TV came on time as advertised, set up was simple, and the picture is fantastic. The sound is okay, but I would expect most people will be using a home theater system so that should be a moot point. I am pleased with the purchase.

Great picture, but the buzz is awful! – carolinawren – Raleigh, NC USA
The picture is gorgeous! As noted by tech review sites, the THX mode is definitely the most accurate and looks by far the best. The sound isn’t awful through the TV, but I now have it running through my receiver, so that doesn’t matter.

The Viera Cast Amazon on Demand works very well and the interface is actually better than my Roku when using Amazon. I have it wired through a Airport Express and it works like a charm without buying a single-purpose dongle from Panasonic.

The anti-glare screen coating works beautifully. The TV is on a wall with two large windows facing it and I can actually watch TV during the day for the first time without lowering the blackout shades. The bezel is really a very,very dark gray which is much more attractive that the usual piano black. Unfortunately, there are two problems with this TV that are proving hard to deal with:

1. The buzz on light colored scenes. There is a barely audible buzz on somewhat lighter scenes, but on truly light scenes it is loud enough to be heard over my newish central air conditioner and a pet fountain that is about 25′ away from the seating area. Truly light scenes where the buzz is very predominant include the 1st season of Lost when they are on the beach or in the sun in the mountains, Crazy Heart when he is on the road with the sky and the NM desert around him and all of the ocean scenes in Pirates of the Caribbean. This is really disappointing. Not sure if this is fixable or not, if not it is a deal breaker for me.

2. It definitely shifts slightly to green. Flesh tones always have a very slight greenish tint to them. If I can figure out how to get rid of the buzz I will have it professionally calibrated to see if this is actually fixable.

I hope there is a way to get rid of the buzz, because otherwise this is a great buy for a really excellent picture.
Don’t Buy Panasonic! Service is Terrible!!! – A. Hamm –
I bought the TCP50g20 50 inch Plasma and less than 2 months after purchasing the TV completely gave out. I called Panasonic and a very incompetent 3rd party (they asked ME for a screw driver – a repair person with no tools, that was a hint and a half for me) came out to fix the TV and they couldn’t. They took the TV with them over 3 weeks ago to fix and don’t have a estimated time when the TV will be fixed because Panasonic is back ordered on parts. They said it could be another 2-3 weeks before the part is available. They don’t have any loaner TVs to give out. So after spending over 1k on this TV I am staring at my walls with no definite date on when I will get my TV back. I have called and complained several times to Panasonic and to the hired 3rd party but I just keep getting the run around. I have spent close to 15 hours on the phone with them(waiting, on hold, etc.) and no resolution in sight.

I read the reviews and did my research and thought this would be a good buy. WRONG! I got a lemon and what makes it so bad is that Panasonic is giving me the run around (politely of course) but I have no TV and no future date on when I am going to get it back. A Panasonic representative said that the TV is under warranty so they will fix it but they just can’t say how long it will take. I have never bought something that was under warranty that took this long to be repaired.

So do yourself a favor and don’t get a Panasonic TV. Never has a repair service been so bad!!!!
