A webpage can be defined as a document or a source of information, which is appropriate for the World Wide Web. WebPages can be accessed through a web browser and are displayed on the screen of a computer.

The format of the information is generally in XHTML or HTML. It might provide routing to other WebPages through hypertext links.

WebPages may be recovered from a remote web server or a local computer. The web server sometimes might restrict access private network only for, e.g. a company intranet. It might publish and post pages on World Wide Web. The web servers serve the WebPages on request and Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) is used in doing so.

Webpages usually consist of files that have static text and are stored within the file system of the web server. These are known as the static webpage. Sometimes the web server constructs (X) HTML separately for each webpage. This usually happens when demanded by the browser. It is then known as the dynamic webpage.

Color, illustration, typography and interaction

Webpages contain information regarding the colors and backgrounds of texts. Sometimes they also have links to images and occasionally other media is also included.

The Cascading Style Sheet (CSS), provides instructions for layout, color-scheme and typographic. This can be embedded in HTML or made available by a separate file. The latter is relevant when a single long style sheet is applicable to whole website. Because of the manner in which HTTP mechanism functions, the browser will download it only once from the server. For the remaining site it uses the cached copy

The web server contains images in the form of separate files, but HTTP allows it otherwise as well. This is because once the downloading of a webpage to a browser takes place; it is likely that some related files like style sheets and images will be demanded during the processing. An HTTP web server maintains a connection to the browser until all the related resources have been asked for and have been provided. Web browsers usually provide images together with related material and text on the demonstrated webpage.

Rendering

Webpages mostly require extra screen space than is accessible for a display resolution. The modern browsers usually position the scrollbars in the window. This allows the users to visualize all the content together. Vertical scrolling is more prevalent than horizontal scrolling.

When a webpage is created, it is imperative to ensure that it is accordance with the standards given by the World Wide Web Consortium on XML, CSS and HTML.

Web page templates:

Webpage templates are in great demand particularly with CSS as a well-known design format. Free webpage templates are being offered by different websites. These are downloaded countless number of times, but for getting some added features like customized graphics, plugins, etc… some work will be needed. You can go for readymade templates, if you do need something more than the basic design and if you required a more elite look for your webpage with unique graphics.

So you’re on twitter now and you have just made your very first tweet! Great, but you see that you have no followers.. You’re talking to an empty room. You may get mad and say how stupid twitter is, but that is completely normal. This isn’t Myspace where you have at least one friend when joining. However, you have to remember we all started somewhere, especially the twitter addicts who tweet all day and all night.

Get your profile ready to be read! There should be a bar on the top that will lead you to your settings. Remember that twitter is just like any other social network on the net. You need to completely express yourself and allow others to know who you really are. No reason to be fake, your tweets will eventually show who you are.

Once you have your profile up and running — as well as up to date with your information. You should start following people — this is part of the entire concept of twitter. You can find people in twitter directories or you can just use the search function. Search for your interest and hobbies.

Nobody likes a spammer, so don’t spam links, images, videos constantly. It fustrates and annoys everyone. Spamming will also cause you to lose a lot of your followers.

Keep your followers updated daily! Your followers will unfollow you if they’re not being updated to daily. Their is no reason for them to keep following a person that doesn’t provide unique, fun, or the latest news. So tweet as often as possible. Keep your followers happy.

Twitter is about building and networking relationships. A lot of twitters need help throughout the day with various things. If you’re an expert at something, help them! This will gain you more followers and show that you’re a helpful and reliable person. Showing others that you’re reliable will help you grow your network too.

Twitter can be a boring, useless, and a destructive waste of time if you let it be. Or, you can make it a positive, fun, and time well spent. What twitter is and does is up to you.

They are text-based posts which have characters exhibited and displayed on the profile page of the author, which gives details about the author. The upper limit of these characters is 140 and they are sent to the viewers, who subscribe to the author’s site. The readers are known as the followers. The system allows open access of twitters to all the viewers. It is up to the sender to restrict their delivery to selected people.

Tweets can be sent and received through the Twitter site, via SMS or using some external applications. Generally this service is free of cost, but accessing it via SMS might cost some phone service fees.

Twitter was first created by Jack Dorsey in the year 2006. Since then it has gained popularity throughout the world. Twitter is also known as the SMS of Internet. The application programming interface of Twitter has been used by other applications to send and receive short messages.

Twitter has been placed in the top 50 popular websites by Alexa’s web analysis. Although the number of users cannot be estimated because the number varies and the number of accounts are not released by the company.

Technology

Twitter can be taken very similar to a Web-based client the Internet Relay Chat (IRC). This web interface uses a framework like that of Ruby on Rails. From the year 2007 to 2008, actual messages on twitter were handled by queue server known as Starling. Now since 2009, software written in Scala is being used. Twitter permits other applications and web services to incorporate with Twitter.

Short message service can be used to communicate with Twitter. There are five gateway numbers for communication. They are short codes for Canada, United States, New Zealand, India and a number for international use. For users of O2 networks and Vodafone users of United Kingdom a short code is available which can only be accessed by them.

Uses of Twitter

Used in campaigning: Candidates in the U.S. presidential campaign of 2008 used Twitter for campaigning.

Used at the time of emergencies: Research in a magazine named New Scientist reported that maps, photo sites, blogs, and instant messaging systems such as Twitter performed in a better way to collect information during emergencies. This method proved to be better than the news media and even emergency services.

Twitters have been used in various other fields like education protest and politics public relations survey opinion legal proceeding, etc… According to the famous quote “the community explains the channel and channel does not explain the community” (i.e.) twitter serves as a channel and the community belongs to you. The twitter channel is a fast improving channel that provides important signs to some discussions that will be important to people. Make use of twitter and enjoy the several benefits offered by the website!!!

While more than one reason for the rejection may be cited initially, that’s almost never, in fact, the truth. For every potential lender or investor there’s a single deciding factor. That makes this, despite initial appearances, always a single problem.

Clearly, if you need the money, this is a rational problem. What’s important is that, despite the personal relationship you share with the other party, you don’t let emotional issues come into play. For the investment or loan to work for both of you, it must be sought and given on purely impersonal terms. The bond between the two of you must remain an unspoken subtext and never become the subject of discussion. Treat their rejection as entirely rational, even if you suspect it may have emotional underpinnings, and you’ll be able to turn it around.

Before even asking for the loan or investment you should have made sure you were an expert in the industry you were entering, and in the specific business you were planning to launch. You also need to know your business plan and loan proposal like the back of your hand. If you have to check the text for the numbers to answer basic questions you’re not expert enough. All of this information must be openly demonstrated for the other party to have confidence in you.

Expertise on the other party’s wants and needs, however, shouldn’t be flaunted. Instead, it should be used as the basis for your proposal. Your pitch should appear to be tailor-made for them . . . because it is. Remember the example I gave earlier where a relative would not loan money because of a bad experience he had with another relative who never paid him back? Becoming an expert means becoming an expert, not only on your business plan, but also on the motivations/feelings of those you are asking for the loan. The amount you ask for, and their planned exit, should perfectly fit their current financial plan.

Let the trust you have built up in your personal relationship remain in the background. It should serve as an invisible foundation for all the traditional business techniques you would use so create trust in someone you had never met before. You should dress and act the same in pitching Aunt Daisy as you would Citibank. Do any less and you’ll appear to be a less than serious businessperson who is taking the other party for granted. That’s not someone to trust with your money.

The secret to reversing a no from a friend or family member is the same as if it came from a banker or venture capitalist. You must first look behind the no and learn the reason for it, and then you need to ask for a reconsideration based on new facts that directly rebut the given reason.

One advantage of asking friends and family for seed money is that it’s easy to subsequently ask them for the reason for their rejection. The problem is they may not feel comfortable telling the truth. You’ll need to stress the importance “for your future efforts” of your getting the truth, and you’ll also need to be able to read between the lines. Remove all the euphemisms and camouflage and you’ll find that there are really only three reasons why a friend or family member wouldn’t give you seed money: they don’t think your business will succeed, they don’t trust your ability or character, or they don’t have the money.

If anyone says the reason they rejected your proposal is they didn’t like your business plan, then they should be asked for specifics. Say that you respect their opinion and want to see if you can overcome their problem. If they can’t offer any specifics, their real reason is something else. However, if they cite a particular element of the plan, offer additional facts that either dispel their fear or clear up their misconceptions.

If you’re told the reason for a rejection is lack of funds, you’ve either made a mistake in your earlier research into their finances, or they’re covering up another reason. You can find out which is the case by asking them to become a loan guarantor rather than an investor or lender. If the only reason for their rejection was that they didn’t have money available, they’ll likely agree. If they continue to balk, then their real reason is something else, probably a lack of trust.

A friend or family member is unlikely to come right out and say that they don’t trust your skills or abilities. Instead, they’ll initially offer other reasons, and then when pressed, raise vague questions. “Are you sure you know what you’re doing?” they’ll ask. “Do you really think that’s the business for you?” they’ll wonder. Alternatively, if they’re concerned with your character they’re apt to cite some irrefutable rules like “I never lend money to relatives,” or “I never invest in retail businesses.”

Since your recent efforts at establishing trust in yourself as an entrepreneur, coupled with the personal trust you had built up during your prior relationship, weren’t enough to overcome their worries about you, it’s unlikely you’ll be able to turn them around yourself. Instead, ask if you can come back to them later, after you’ve lined up other investors or lenders. Then, your request for a reconsideration can be based on the demonstrable new facts of there being others who trust you enough to invest in your future.

Home or apartment rental problems can almost all be solved the same way: having an ironclad lease. The best way to avoid expectant problems is to make sure your fear is addressed in the lease. Extant problems can also best be cured by holding the other party to the terms of the lease.

Residential leases, while less complex than commercial agreements, are still complicated enough to require an attorney. In fact, I tell all my clients who are contemplating becoming landlords to hire professionals to oversee the entire process. Unless you plan on getting into the real estate business full-time you don’t have the time to do the kind of job that’s required to insure your interests are fully protected. Leave the drafting of the lease to your lawyer and the screening of tenants to an agent. All you should have to do is deposit the rent check on the first of the month.

Won’t the tenants create damage?

This is an entirely rational problem. Tenants almost always create damage, just as any residents will. You must expect a certain amount of wear and tear anytime property is used. In order to mitigate damage problems you must express your concerns to your attorney when she is preparing the lease. She can insure that your lease requires an adequate security deposit, insist that no changes can be made to the property without your approval, and provide you or your agent with the right to make occasional formal inspections of the premises.

You also need to make your worries plain to your renting agent. He must be prepared to make a real judgment of the tenant’s character, and to check their references and background. In addition, get the agent’s input on what type of restrictions make sense. After all, a family of four with two pets will create more damage than a couple with no pets.

What if I can’t get them out?

As anyone who has ever tried to evict a tenant can tell you, this is an entirely rational problem. It is very difficult to get someone out of a residence, even if they haven’t paid rent. In many states, the law bends over backward to protect the tenant at the landlord’s expense. This is one reason why I don’t encourage my clients to get into the rental business.

You can never totally protect yourself from this happening. A tenant who interviewed well, and who was reliable for years, can suddenly change and become a problem. All you can do is mitigate the problem. First, make sure you have an experienced agent do the screening, looking out for potential problem tenants. Second, ask your lawyer to do everything possible to keep a recalcitrant tenant from barricading himself in your property. She may be able to construct the lease so that tenants become trespassers if they overstay, allowing you to enlist the aid of the police in having them removed.

Many webmasters prefer to create and build websites then add the content which is the hardest part, if we are talking from a view that we need high quality content that would attract visitors and search engines, and finally it comes another hard task which is to optimize and promote the website in the search engines. This task that can be a kind of easy if we have a good quality content available. Otherwise, there are other webmasters who prefer to buy established websites with or without traffic and revenue, websites that are ready to use and to market in order to provide information or services in exchange of something ( revenue from ads, sales, leads.. ). Whatever, in this post I’ll try to list some problems that would face you if you are trying to buy a website:

1. Dealing with a CROOK: A lot of sites are available for sale everyday, there are a lot of forums and market places where you can find thousands of websites that you can buy. The price of the website will depend on the quality, traffic and revenue that it generates, BUT you don’t have to trust everyone who says that my website makes $$$ per month or receive thousands of visits everyday.. My advice is not to buy a website based on this data, try to look for the site archive, check if the domain is dropped, check Page Rank, backlinks, Alexa rank.. Anything that can show you the real value and how much this site is worth!

2. Transfer your new site: When you’ll buy a website from someone, in 90% of the cases he’ll give you the site files and you have to transfer the site to your new hosting account if you paid for a new hosting plan. This is not an easy task, especially if you bought a large website, it will take time to transfer files to new server. You may ask the support to move the site for you but ‘be sure’ about the fact that they will ask you for the login information for the other host where the site is originally hosted so that they can download the backup and upload it again, which is not possible all the time.

3. Losing reputation: All the time and when buying an established website, you have to take in consideration that a niche that make $1000 per month can make only $100 in the next month, especially that when moving from server to server a website can lose ranking in search engines or what we call SERPs if it is transfered to a new IP class, visitors because of the downtime that you will expect when moving and also revenue as a keyword that pays $3 today can pay only $1 tomorrow.

All of this is based on my personal experience, you may have been in luck better than me and grabbed a nice deal but all what I want to let you know is to be careful and study the market and conditions before taking a new decision of buying a website, it’s real business. Did you faced any of these difficulties? Did you faced other problems when trying to buy an established website? Share with us!

Twitter is probably one of the hottest social networks on the internet today! It’s ranked as one of the top 20 sites visited in the world and has over 20 million users today. That’s a pretty large social network. Now that you and probably your friend and family are using twitter, you should take the time out and learn how to communicate effectively. Here are some tips of twitter for beginners.

Be honest with people and don’t try to sell something to them all the time. You wouldn’t spam your facebook or email about your latest products or services. Don’t do it with twitter.

If you own a blog, business, website, its ok to tweet about them and their subjects. However, you should also tweet about things that are not related to them. Twitter is personal, so remember to tweet about some “real life” things once in a while.

Stop broadcasting and join in on the conversations! Often times webmasters and bloggers simply broadcast about their latest post or update. You should not only do this, but try to integrate yourself into the conversations. You’ll grow your network and will create a positive image for yourself.

Be efficient on twitter. Their is a 140 character limit for a reason! Keep your messages short and to the point. Having your followers running in circles or pondering will only frustrate them – worse, they don’t even understand what you’re trying to get through!

Keep on updating that twitter status! Followers expect news, information, and updates on what you’re doing. If you’re not updating, you’ll end up losing a lot of your followers if not all of them.

Twitter is a social network. You have to be social or reap the misfortune of being bored and plain. Their is no point in simply lurking and reading others tweets. You’ll get very little back lurking. Dive right in and start tweeting and networking!

Remember that twitter is for building your relationships and learning about new things. Sharing is extremely important on twitter as it is in the real world. Get tweeting and don’t forget to follow me @ZakShow :)

The landlord will object (or) The landlord has objected.

If your lease gives the landlord the right to approve assignments or sublets, this is an actual problem . . . whether it’s expectant or extant. This is also entirely rational. The landlord looks at transitions in tenants as opportunities to increase rent. If you assign your lease he’s missing out on that increase. In addition, he may have developed confidence in your business’s ability to pay the rent. The new owner is an unknown quantity.

If you are planning on selling and you didn’t successfully negotiate a flexible enough assign ability clause when you the first signed the lease, you need to go back and renegotiate one now. Bring in your attorney as your hired gun and do whatever you can to change the lease so it smoothes the way for you to sell.

Theoretically the landlord already trusts you. Your mission now should be to get him to trust your buyer as well. Do everything you can to demonstrate to the landlord that he’ll actually be in a better position with this new tenant than with you. For instance, if she’s younger than you, that would guarantee him more years of continued occupancy; or if she has “deep pockets” that could make it easier for him to increase the rent when the lease expires.

The only further (act you can add if you need to ask for a reconsideration is that you will serve as personal guarantor of the lease for part of the remaining term, or the new owner can offer an increase in the security deposit.

My employees will bolt.

This is also entirely rational. Seasoned employees know that wholesale staff changes almost always come close on the heels of changes in ownership and management. The minute that word leaks that you’re thinking of selling, your best people will become flight risks.

The key information you need to gather is actually from the buyer, not your employees. If the buyer plans on making wholesale immediate staff changes she may not want you to stop your employees from bolting. On the other hand, if she wants to hold on to people, at least for a little while, she’ll be helpful in solving the problem.

Your employees, understandably, aren’t going to trust any verbal promises from either you or the future owner. Even though they trust you, they also know that you won’t be around much longer, and that your primary concern is closing the deal, not saving their skins. The solution is to sign your key employees to contracts. The difficulty is that this will be a three-way negotiation among you, the future owner, and the employee. That’s why I suggest clients in this situation focus on crafting simpler termination agreements instead. These should provide sufficient security to the employees without binding the future owner’s hands.

If an employee refuses to sign an agreement, you can make a personal plea for him to reconsider. Meet him privately, as a friend rather than an employer, and explain that the termination agreement won’t prevent him from looking for another job. All it will do is memorializing his severance package. And since he suspects he’ll be terminated shortly anyway, this is a chance for him to get more than he would have otherwise.

Most of the home-buying problems people have their roots in a common misconception about the real estate market. Ever since the 1980s, most people have viewed real estate as a wonderful investment. While that was true for a while, it’s no longer the case.

Historically, buying real estate has been as much an emotional as a financial decision. When you owned your own home you were literally king of your own castle. No absentee landlord could raise your rent, turn off the heat, or make you put up with a leaky roof. You could grow your own food and raise your own livestock, or you could put up a trampoline and basketball hoop for your kids. You could put up knotty pine paneling in your dining room and build a workshop in the basement. You were in control. Financially, you could deduct the interest on your mortgage, and rest assured that your home’s value would probably outpace inflation. If nothing else, paying a mortgage rather than rent was a form of enforced savings.

Things changed in the 1980s when the leading edge of the baby boom generation began entering the home-buying market. Because of post¡ªWorld War II prosperity, federally subsidized home loans, and the development of the middle-class suburb, many baby boomers grew up in homes owned by their parents, unlike previous generations. They wanted to buy homes similar to those they’d grown up in. But because there were so many baby boomers, the demand drove prices up. Houses purchased by a boomer’s parents in 1965 for $15,000 were selling in 1985 to a young boomer family for $150,000. The same demographic anomaly that forced home prices up kept salaries down in real terms. To afford to buy their parents’ home, boomer couples had to bring in two salaries and spend a higher share of their income on shelter.

Prices kept soaring throughout the 1980s as more and more baby boomers entered the market. Older boomers were able to buy and sell homes quickly, make a tidy profit off younger boomers, and use the money to buy an even larger home. But then at the end of the decade the tide turned. The number of buyers began to drop, demand slowed, and prices stagnated and then fell. The age of real estate as an investment was over. But not everyone has gotten the message.

Most people with real estate problems are still thinking as if it were the 1980s. It’s not. Today people should be buying a home they’re willing to stay in for a long portion of their lives. They should look at it as a spiritual and emotional purchase, as more of a quality-of-life issue than a financial issue.
