Donna thanks for the comment! So happy to contribute to Portland's communities in whatever way we can, just glad that some passionate people made the opportunity and created the space for it to happen. :) Of course words are power and code is poetry!

We are in complete agreement about the language around "change management" needing to change as well as having ideas about how models and approaches can be adapted to the changes brought about by the rise of the social web. Looking forward to more unconference and barcamp style collaborations in the near future. Let us know if we can do anything to contribute!

Todd, thanks for the great PDXNet2Camp post! I also want to thank you for leading the open session on Nonprofit/Social Media Change Management. I think a lot of us left this session with a new, energized perspective on change management thanks to a couple simple but powerful words - Change Engagement.

The more traditional change "management" term carries with it all the heavy connotations of top-down processes associated with typical hierarchy. But throw the word "Engagement" into the mix and all of a sudden we've got a bold new language for change that more closely reflects the ultimate goal... to foster and cultivate an "engaged" community through empowerment, open communication, and a process that involves both top-down and emergent (i.e. bottom-up) contributions.

Yes, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy! These moments when things just click, pop or "you have been here before" are indeed inspiring. Staying inspired can be the hardest part of change, working on continuous or long term projects. It is important to seize upon these moment which we encounter, because they are put before us for a reason. It is up to us to act upon them. Here is to the big Y and making it happen. Carpe noctem!
