The Davis Bangkok Hotel with 247 rooms, although heavily touted as being a “Boutique Hotel” is a little bit too big to be legitimate. It does, however, have a very individual style and, to some extent a small hotel feel with 3 distinct sections that could to all intents and purposes be run independent of each other. In this respect the Davis Bangkok has achieved its goal to offer an alternative sanctuary to discerning travelers who are tired of the common luxury hotel formula.

The Davis Bangkok Hotel set out to offer completely the opposite of what, in its view was becoming the norm; hotels stuffed with perfectly cloned rooms with just a few individually styled and designed rooms. 60% of guestrooms at the Davis are uniquely designed to offer return visitors a new experience on each visit.

The vibe at the Davis Bangkok is distinctly young and vibrant. The hotel tends to attract style-conscious visitors and business travelers particularly in the Main Wing and Corner Wing. The introduction of Baan Davis, a cluster of Thai style villas giving the hotel a third dimension, has broadened the clientele to embrace families as well.

In close vicinity to the Davis Bangkok you will find various cafes and coffee shops including Au Bon Pain and Starbucks for those needing a Latte fix. The hotel operates its own Tuk Tuk service to shuttle guests from the hotel to the top of the road and to the front doors of the ever so up-market Emporium Shopping Mall and Phrom Pong Skytrain Station.

Facilities and recreation offered by the hotel are comprehensive and most of the exciting stuff including swimming pool, fitness centre, spa and massage are found on the 9th floor of the Main Wing (on the roof). Baan Davis offers a private swimming pool and spa for Villa guests.

The Davis Bangkok consistently offers great value for money. Recent reviews have commented about average service standards and rooms, particularly in the Main Wing, looking rather tired. Consequently we suggest the youthful Corner Wing or a villa in Baan Davis for families. The hotel location in downtown Sukhumvit is ideal and there are plenty of attractions, restaurants and entertainment options within easy reach.

Accommodation

The Davis Bangkok is effectively split into 3; the Main Wing, the Corner Wing and Baan Davis. Where location is concerned though all three sections are on the same property.

Main Wing

The Main Wing draws interior design inspiration from all that is Thailand; the regions, the new and the old. Teak wood forms the backdrop with contemporary Thai design twists in the forefront.

The majority of guest rooms in the main wing are individually designed and unique with the following room types on offer:

Presidential Suite

Executive Suite

Deluxe Suite

Davis Suite

Junior Suite

Deluxe Room

Design Room

Superior Room

Corner Wing

The more youthful Corner Wing is right next door to the Main Wing and the studio category is designed to answer the needs of travellers who seek the champagne lifestyle on a beer budget. Room types in the Corner Wing are as follows:

Ambassador Suite

Diplomat Suite

Premier Room

Studio Room

Baan Davis – Private Villas

The latest addition to the Davis Bangkok’s portfolio of accommodation, Baan Davis comprises a cluster of 10 exclusive Thai style villas; 7 two-bedroom villas (164 sq.m) and 3 three-bedroom villas (250 sq.m). Such accommodation is more commonly found beside Thailand’s beaches and to have such an oasis in central Bangkok is an unexpected luxury.

Featuring timber walls and vaulted timber ceilings, the villas are tastefully decorated in a befitting style. Residents of villas have access to a private “Baan Davis” swimming pool and spa. The villas in Baan Davis make for an ideal city retreat for families or groups. In villa dining is also available either as self catering or prepared by one of the hotel’s top chefs.

Business Facilities & Function Space

The Davis Bangkok offers a very well equipped business centre and 14 Meeting Rooms all with WiFi. The meeting rooms are suitable for between 14 and 16 attendees in a Boardroom layout.

Any equipment that is required is available from the Davis Hotel including Notebooks and the business facilities are supported by a comprehensive secretarial service.

The Ballroom is located on the 2nd floor in the Main Wing and comprises some 300 square metres of event and function space. Ideal for weddings, receptions and other special events.

Location

[wp_geo_map]

The Davis Bangkok Hotel is located in Sukhumvit 24 which runs right beside Emporium Shopping Mall. Just beyond the front door of the Davis Hotel are an assortment of lifestyle orientated shops and cafes including an excellent Au Bon Pain with a spacious garden.

Emporium is well within walking distance but in the Bangkok heat it is possibly a bit too far to be comfortable. Better jump on a motorcycle taxi which are in plentiful supply day and night or into the hotel’s own tuk tuk for the short ride up to Emporium which is also where you will be able to access the Skytrain (Phrom Pong BTS Station).

From the hotel you can turn left which will take you quickly to Rama IV or right for Sukhumvit Road. Providing you are travelling out of rush hour periods Rama IV gives you easy access to Silom, Sathorn and the Chao Phraya River. Sukhumvit Road on the other hand is all about lifestyle; business and leisure, day and night.

Also in very close vicinity to the Davis Bangkok is the Expressway to lift you above this pulsating metropolis for fast and efficient airport transfers, day tours and road journeys.

The Eugenia is a taste of bygone times, its architectural design modeled on a late 19th century colonial mansion and its rooms stuffed with antiques and old world charm from the region and era. Here you will find five star luxury reminiscent of the golden age of travel and this boutique hotel is plum in the middle of Bangkok, downtown Sukhumvit.

A Relais & Châteaux Hotel, The Eugenia Bangkok offers 12 suites and a complete home-from-home experience. Don’t expect to walk into a commodious lobby, to find a list of on-site restaurants to choose from or a ubiquitous hotel shopping mall because they are not here.

Instead what you will find is a very warm and personalized greeting from the hotel manager, a consistently high standard of service and the D.B. Bradley dining room cum restaurant where head chef Montep “Tep” Kamonsilp, a proactive advocate of the slow food movement, masterfully creates international cuisine to die for. There is a swimming pool, on the small side, but nevertheless perfect to cool off after a hot day in Bangkok.

Within the confines of The Eugenia Bangkok, the environment is tranquil and you are treated more like a house guest than a hotel guest; late check-out requests are usually no problem for example and you will more than likely not get charged for it either.

Spend lazy Saturday mornings curled up in an arm chair in the enigmatic Library before hitting the streets of Bangkok and the city heat. Arrive back in the afternoon for a refreshing dip in the emerald green pool, a sundowner beside the pool or nip up to your room for a quick change before migrating back down the staircase for appetizers and drinks in the Zheng He Lounge.

The Eugenia Bangkok is understandably a very popular choice for couples. The acclaimed and more formal D.B. Bradley dining room with its cross-cultural fare magnetizes diners both local and visiting alike. The boutique hotel’s small fleet of beautifully restored classic cars can be hired complete with chauffeur to convey you around Bangkok in style.

Accommodation

The Eugenia Bangkok is home to just 12 Suites each unique, individually designed and perfectly in context. Four poster beds draped with white linens from Belgium are the focal point in each of the spacious suites in this late 19-century colonial-style house.

Antique furniture, fittings and decorations collected by the owner from around the region including the hand-beaten bathtubs right through to the light switches provide all the props necessary to set an authentically nostalgic scene pulled straight from the end of the 19th Century in Laos, Cambodia or Vietnam.

Throw open the shuttered windows to overlook the rear courtyard, the emerald green pool bordered with white sun loungers and the shady sala where hours can be whiled away in blissful harmony.

Location

[wp_geo_map]

The Eugenia Bangkok is located in Sukhumvit 31, downtown Bangkok. The boutique hotel has its own tuk tuk to shuttle guests to the skytrain and a fleet of classic cars for those that want to travel in style.

Within easy reach of the Eugenia are countless restaurants, the Emporium Shopping Mall, Skytrain (BTS) and Subway stations. Bangkok Airport Transfers are generally painless with easy access to the Express Way.

Located in the same complex as Emporium Shopping Mall, Emporium Suites has quite possibly one of the most prime Bangkok locations. Remaining undercover you have direct access to the very up market Emporium Shopping and Phrom Pong Skytrain (BTS) station. In the former you can buy practically anything from supermarket goods to books and designer labels, eat at umpteen restaurants and go to the cinema. Phrom Pong Skytrain (BTS) station is your key to unlocking Bangkok.

What’s more, Emporium Suites is slap-bang in the midst of an extremely vibrant neighbourhood in its downtown Sukhumvit Road location with endless restaurants, pubs and nightlife options within walking distance or a short taxi ride away.

On offer at Emporium Suites are all the facilities and amenities that you would expect to find at a five star hotel. Add to this the self-catering option which all suites afford and you have a perfect formula for extended stay visitors and families. Relax within the landscaped rooftop garden where there is also a sizeable swimming pool and Jacuzzi. Retreat to the Sense of Spirit Spa for some pure, unadulterated pampering or tone-up in the fitness centre.

Children are by no-means overlooked at the Emporium Suites either. Within this Bangkok all-suite hotel, kids have free-run of the on-site playground. Venture into Emporium Shopping Mall and there is another soft play centre and a cinema screening all the latest film releases in English. Adjacent to Emporium is Benjasiri Park, a little oasis of green amidst the concrete jungle which offers a safe environment for a run around.

The Four Seasons Bangkok Hotel has garnered an international reputation for delivering exceptional standards of hospitality, design and service for which it has justifiably been awarded.

Enjoying a prime location overlooking the grounds of the Royal Bangkok Sports Club and right in the very heart of the corporate, diplomatic and shopping area, the Four Seasons Bangkok offers a rarefied lifestyle experience from the moment you breeze through the front doors and into the majestically scaled lobby. The opulence of the guest rooms and suites, the diversity of cuisines served from any one of the four in house restaurants, sumptuously sensual spa treatments at MSpa and the list goes on.

Traditional Thai architecture houses elaborate artwork and hand painted silks which nestle amongst exotic gardens and pools that offer a peaceful 10-acre refuge. The recently upgraded Health Club and MSpa is also home to what is currently the largest lap pool in Bangkok.

Those who appreciate excellent food will be spoilt for choice at Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok which is home to some of the city’s most celebrated restaurants that magnetise visitors and locals alike. The combination of Madison Steak House, Biscotti, Shintaro and Spice Market take diners on a gallivanting gourmet extravaganza from one continent to another. Every Sunday marks a meeting of continents for brunch when the doors are thrown open to casual diners who can hop from one buffet station to another and choose their dining venue.

Dubbed a steakhouse, Madison offers Matsuzaka, Kobe and Wagyu beef, delicate seafood and an extensive wine list. There is also a private dining room for up to 16 diners in this restaurant that promises to provide you with a unique dining experience.

Biscotti serves flavours from Italy amid a fun and contemporary ambiance and is open for lunch and dinner. This dining experience doesn’t stop at titillating the taste buds though. The open kitchen emitting mouth-watering aromas of home cooked food ensure a party for all the senses.

Shinatro is an informal and interactive sushi bar also well stocked with Saki and Japanese beers while Spice Market presents the finest in home-grown flavours. Designed as an old Thai Spice Shop the very authentic Thai cuisine that it serves has earned it many awards and accolades including being voted “Most Delicious Thai Restaurant in Bangkok.”

Four Seasons Bangkok is a popular choice among solo travellers, couples and business travellers alike. High standards of service are consistent and the location is about as central as you will be able to get in Bangkok.

Accommodation

Four Seasons Bangkok offers 340 spacious guestrooms, 33 suites and 8 unexpected Garden Cabanas within their 10 acre property in the very epicentre of Bangkok. Rooms and suites are categorized as follows each with an option of breakfast (ABF) or not:

Deluxe-View Room

Deluxe Room

Superior Room

The Explorer Suite by Jim Thompson

Deluxe One-Bedroom Suite

Cabana Suite

Four Seasons Executive Suite

No matter which room type you choose, expect the interior to ooze authentic elegance inspired by traditional Thai design with a contemporary twist. Teak and hand painted Thai silk abound and the views vary from tropical garden to outdoor pool, residential streets to a vista over the Royal Bangkok Sports Club.

All rooms have a writing desk, voice mail, internet access and a dvd player.

Business Facilities & Function Space

The Four Seasons Bangkok is a prime venue in the City of Angels for Business Meetings and Special Events with over 1,820 square metres of function space which equates to 18 potential function rooms. At the forefront is the Ballroom which has a maximum capacity of 1,000 for receptions.

The Four Seasons is ideal for Meetings, Board Meetings, Conferences, Receptions and Special Events. It has the space, the facilities and the address.

The Four Seasons Bangkok also offers an Executive Club which is open 24/7 and available to both business and leisure guests.

If you are interested in short listing the Four Seasons Bangkok for your meeting or event, use our Bangkok RFP to rapidly expand your shortlist and arrive at an informed decision.

Location

[wp_geo_map]

The location of the Four Seasons Bangkok couldn’t really be more central and better still it is surrounded by “green”; the tropical gardens, the Royal Bangkok Sports Club and Lumpini Park which is about a five minute walk away.

Have no fears about whether the address is right if you are considering hosting an event in Bangkok, both the location and the brand speak for themselves.

Bangkok International Airport is about 45 minutes away by car and airport transfers are relatively painless on the expressway network.

In close proximity are many high-end shopping malls including Gaysorn Plaza and CentralWorld (formerly the Bangkok World Trade Centre).

Rather than hail taxis off the road outside the hotel, ask the Concierge to do it for you. This will save potential heartache.

Is the Luxx at Silom a Bangkok boutique hotel or more a bed and breakfast? Offering only 13 bedrooms past guests have had differing opinions. In our view Luxx at Silom is a small, stylish Bangkok boutique hotel (one of the smallest there is) and it proves that size isn’t everything; small can be effective, just as enjoyable and just as satisfying!

So small is Luxx that a stay here is more like having your own private apartment in this vibrant city. There is no pool, gym or restaurant within the hotel. There are no crowds of people in the lobby. Instead what you have is a sleek hideaway in the epicenter of Bangkok.

By day the pavements throng with the business attired Bangkok elite but at sundown the area goes through a complete metamorphosis; urban grays are brought to life with neon lights, bustling night markets emerge, business garb becomes casual chic and the zone ramps-up for the nightly party.

You can choose to immerse yourself in the hubbub of Silom or retreat to your room at the Luxx which, owing to its size, is the type of place that allows you to impose yourself on it rather than the other way round, the latter being the case in so many larger hotels.

Luxx at Silom is a perfect Bangkok base camp from which to explore the City of Angels. The superbly designed rooms are complimented by very accommodating staff; they are not “in your face” as could easily happen in a hotel of this size but instead the black-uniformed staff here maintain a discreet but friendly distance.

Scamper out of the front door to Niu’s Restaurants which is a five minute walk away where you are guaranteed a fabulous meal after which you can migrate downstairs to the sublime jazz bar. Just 15 minutes away is the celebrated Sky Bar at Lebua State Tower. No shorts or flip flops here but the views from this sky bar are unsurpassed.

Luxx at Silom is a fabulous place to stay and comes highly recommended if you are seeking a splash of luxury with a mid-range price tag and without big hotel ostentation.

Accommodation

Luxx at Silom is a five-storey shop house that has been converted into a boutique hotel. Within the walls are a variety of rooms, studios and suites. Free WiFi is available throughout the property and each room has a flat screen TVs and a CD / DVD player (suites have LCD TVs and i-pod station), coffee and tea making facilities, a small pantry and views over the courtyard below which is distinctly “Zen”.

The ambiance in this urban hideaway is modern, minimalist, stylish with daubes of designer touches at every turn. The signature Luxx wooden bathtub and heavenly bed are features found in all room types.

Guest Rooms

Compact S

Compact L

Studio

Suite

Each of the Suites offers a separate living area with sofa, a small pantry and a separate bedroom. With 50sqm of living space the Suites offer plenty of room for you to make yourself at home whether you are visiting on business or leisure.

The Studio’s are shrunk to 34sqm but still retain all the mod cons to keep you comfy. Run a bath, slide back the doors and recline whilst watching a DVD. The Compact L and Compact S rooms are 24sqm and 20sqm respectively. The former has a small balcony and both room types don’t dip out on in-room facilities and amenities. The Compact L and Compact S rooms are a great choice if you need somewhere to stay in Bangkok that is clean, comfortable, well designed and very affordable.

A stay at Luxx Silom really is more akin to being in your own private apartment than a hotel; small, intimate, homely (in a bachelor pad sort of way) and right in the heart of Bangkok.

Please note that there is no elevator / lift at Luxx Silom

Location

[wp_geo_map]

The Luxx at Silom is, as the name suggests, just a stones-throw from Silom Road and within very easy walking distance of Chong Nongsi Skytrain station.

From here you are two stops away from the Chao Phraya River (Saphan Taksin Skytrain Station) where you can connect to ferry services, hire long tails and so forth. Going in the other direction you are one stop away from Sala Daeng BTS Station which delivers you into the heart of Silom Road; Bangkok’s business nerve centre by day and its most renowned entertainment zone by night (think Patpong). Interconnecting with the subway (MRT) network is also easy from Sala Daeng BTS Station.

If you are looking for a Bangkok boutique hotel that is right in the thick of the action with shopping that spans plush shopping malls to street markets by day, 24 hours food from some of Bangkok’s smartest restaurants to the most celebrated street vendors and an entertainment zone with night markets, bars and plenty more then Luxx at Silom could be the place for you.

Address

6/11 Decho Road, Bangrak, Bangkok, Thailand 10500

The Ma Du Zi Hotel Bangkok is an utterly unique Bangkok luxury boutique hotel that masterfully blends luxury with stylish, modern elegance, homeliness with absolute discretion, exclusive private club with welcoming warmth. The Ma Du Zi is geared to satisfying the needs of business travelers whilst also fitting snugly in the city chic retreat category and if you are planning a Bangkok city break you wont be disappointed.

Guests who have stayed at the Ma Du Zi are unanimous in their reviews; service standards at this Bangkok boutique hotel are exemplary:
“The staff fell over backwards to help”
“The staff here really go out of their way to make guests happy”

Your privacy is also tantamount at the Ma Du Zi which does not allow walk-ins through the door. All rooms must be booked well in advance and once checked-in, any guests that you invite to the hotel must also have your secret password (think Julia Roberts in Notting Hill).

While the fitness weights centre is open 24 hours a day to help guests keep the blood circulating and maybe even shed a few pounds, downstairs the bar and restaurant are too tempting to ignore. The distinctive white, circular bar is unavoidable as you enter the hotel; its there subtly dispensing cocktails to the distinctly city chic set. Incidentally “city chic” is the hotel dress code for the bar and restaurant.

La Truffe Restaurant at Ma Du Zi Hotel, with Japanese chef Yuya Okuda at the helm, specializes in southern French fare with the occasional fusion twist. Described by the hotel as a “casual, informal setting” diners are required to pre-book tables and the city-chic dress code applies.

La Truffle Restaurant entices locals and visitors alike who can choose from set or a la carte menu options featuring such signature dishes as “Duck foie gras terrine infused with port wine” and “Oven roasted French quail stuffed with foie gras served with black truffle mash potatoes”.

If swanky city chic retreats that ooze sophistication, style and discretion resonates with you and finding a Bangkok hotel that gives you easy access to everything is top of your list then book rooms at Ma Du Zi and more than likely it will become your little secret in the City of Angels that you return to with every visit.

Accommodation

The Ma Du Zi offers just 40 guestrooms and suites making it the epitome of a boutique hotel. Guestrooms are categorized in the following way:

Studio 49 – 17 Rooms

Studio 53 – 12 Rooms

Corner 63 – 6 Rooms

79 Suite – 5 Rooms

Room sizes range from 49m2 (Studio 49) to, yes you guessed, 79m2 (79 Studio) and all guestrooms and suites have free WiFi, Fax/printer/copy machine, IP Phone and working desk. Also a feature of every room is the oversized bathtub and Jacuzzi, a walk-in closet, espresso machine, well stocked mini bar and the latest in home entertainment systems. In room massage can also be requested.

Studio 49 and Studio 53 both feature large bathrooms and the latter has the added bonus of city views. Either of these would be a good choice for solo travelers but for couples or those who prefer a king sized bed then go for Studio 53.

Corner 63, aside from having extra space, feature a wall of floor-to-ceiling windows that beckon the sunshine in and there is nothing quite like natural light. The 6 corner suites would be the perfect choice for romantic Bangkok city breaks. Honeymooners, couples and executives who aren’t anticipating on-site meetings.

79 Suite on the other hand, with their own exclusive reception area lined with Chinese art and artifacts, is split into two rooms. These would be ideal if you like space to spread out or for executives who can request the second room converted into a private meeting room.

All rooms and suites enjoy 24 hour Room service.

Business Facilities & Function Space

In-terms of actual event and function space, the Ma Du Zi has a modest offering with just one meeting room that can host up to 15 attendees. However as a venue for more informal meetings it is both exceptional and exceptionally discreet.

We would recommend day time meetings in the Lounge where you will find the atmosphere like that of an informal, but definitely chic and sophisticated, living room with slate-gray walls and soft, suede sofas. The Lounge can also be booked for meetings, special events and private dining.

In the evening opt for the hotel bar to finalise finer details over some cocktails including the very Bond-esque Ma Du Zi Martini. To seal-the-deal migrate to the “MA DU ZI Restaurant by Yuya” for mouthwatering French fusion flavours.

All guest rooms at Ma Du Zi also are equipped with free Wi-Fi internet connection, Fax/printer/copy machine, IP Phone and Desk to effectively provide business travelers with a walk-in study.

Location

[wp_geo_map]

The location of the Ma Du Zi Hotel Bangkok is ideal, pretty much next to the Asoke intersection. This makes airport transfers a doddle which should take about 30 minutes each way and once you are safely ensconced in the hotel you are all but 200 metres from the Asoke Skytrain (BTS) and Subway (MRT) stations. Also in very close vicinity is Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.

What this means is that you have Bangkok in the palm of your hands. If you are visiting for an event, exhibition or trade-show at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, its practically next door. The combination of the BTS and MRT gives you access to all areas of Bangkok for meetings, sightseeing, shopping and entertainment.

Accessing business districts and glitzy up-town shopping malls is as easy from here as it will be in the evening to visit many of the city’s top restaurants, pubs, bars and entertainment zones.

What never ceases to amaze where the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok is concerned is that you are made to feel like a house guest attending a house party, such is the standard of personalized service. Yet the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok is not a “private house”, nor is it a quaint boutique hotel. In fact the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok is really rather a large hotel by Bangkok standards, boasting 395 guest rooms and suites.

A bastion of Bangkok, the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok sits on the banks of the Chao Phraya River where she has been since her humble beginnings in 1876. Opening her doors originally as a seaman’s hotel, the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok has evolved to become one of the worlds foremost hotels, consistently raising the bar in service and hospitality and setting standards for all other hotels to follow.

Within the hallowed walls of the Oriental you can expect to experience a standard of modern luxury that is unsurpassed. Indeed, stretching the limits of luxury seems to be an obsession here and they are pretty successful at it with countless awards as testament and those awards and accolades still keep coming.

The ambiance is exclusive, opulent, classic and stately. You might expect such personalized service whilst stalking or fly fishing at an exclusive Scottish Castle but with 358 rooms and 35 suites this is neither small hotel nor lodge. But the combination of the service standards, the location, the history and the experience are just some of the reasons why the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok has a global following of loyal, repeat guests.

Nothing gets crowded here either. The two swimming pools seem almost overlooked by guests and the award winning Oriental Spa on the opposite bank for the Chao Phraya River beckons you to experience the ultimate holistic indulgence. For the fitness inclined the Health Centre will not disappoint and for those who want to tap into the local culture the Oriental Thai Cooking and Cultural School has all the answers.

Take breakfast beside the Chao Phraya River on The Riverside Terrace which is equally as popular for evening meals as well. As one past guest commented “don’t miss having a meal outside and watch the Chao Phraya River and life, float by”. If you are lucky you may find yourself having a front row seat at one of the many spectacular fireworks displays hosted by one or all of the 5 star hotels beside this stretch of the Chao Phraya River.

The Mandarin Oriental Bangkok is part of Bangkok’s history and offers modern and thoughtfully planned amenities for guests of all ages. Whether you are arriving in Bangkok on business, for a city break or romantic getaway, as a solo traveller, with your family or on your honeymoon, booking into the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok will guarantee a standard of excellence like no other. Here you will find a retreat and a city sanctuary that exudes a rarefied luxury projecting Bangkok in an entirely different perspective; a Bangkok romance.

Accommodation

35 suites and 358 rooms comprise the Mandarin Oriental. Most of the suites are named after distinguished travellers, many of them authors, who have visited the hotel – think Somerset Maugham, Graham Greene, Barbara Cartland, Noel Coward and Joseph Conrad – and are uniquely designed to reflect their character.

The Author’s Wing is the original hotel building and houses four of the hotel’s most famous author’s suites. Behind this is the Garden Wing which houses more contemporary rooms while superior to deluxe suites are found in the River Wing. All guestrooms have modern en-suite bathrooms and in those that have dedicated butlers you will be attended to with a level of service that Jeeves himself might find hard to match.

No matter which room you book it will have either full or partial river views, a satellite TV, CD player, mini bar, IDD telephone and Wi-Fi. Guests staying in the named suites are treated to champagne and personalised stationary, daily snacks and silk bathrobes not to mention the private butler service, individually designed bedrooms, the lounge, dressing room and Victorian style bathrooms.

Business Facilities & Function Space

As you might expect the address alone is second to none in Bangkok making the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok the venue to host your high profile Meetings, Conferences, Special Events and Celebrations and the venue and function space is wide and varied. At the zenith is the Ballroom, not big by Bangkok standards but by far and away the most grand and graceful in Bangkok.

The Embassy Room, Executive Boardroom and The Regency Room provide Bangkok meeting rooms each with very different characters and themes. The Embassy Room is about opulence while the Executive Boardroom within the business centre gets down to business.

The recently restored Regency Room draped with hand-woven Thai silk panels in a turn-of-the-century French pattern almost resembles a drawing room and is perfect for cocktail receptions, private dining and more informal meetings. Similarly, the Author’s Lounge is again more informal but the scene here is summery and colonial. The Author’s Lounge is ideal for relaxed special events, wedding receptions and cocktail parties and can accommodate between 150-200 guests.

Pop across the Chao Phraya River to the exclusive city oasis where a lawn, freestanding pavilion and the Sala Rim Naam Restaurant, which can be booked exclusively, all add to the venue and function space offered at the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok.

The state-of-the-art business centre with full secretarial support means that the workflow of business travellers need never be interrupted.

Location

The Mandarin Oriental Bangkok sits on the banks of the Chao Phraya River at the end of an avenue which is its namesake and by river boat is by far the most efficient means of getting to and from the hotel once you have checked in.

Needless to say the Oriental has its own teak rice barge to shuttle guests to and from Saphan Taksin, a 5 minute boat trip, which is where you can connect to the Skytrain or river ferries and all of these services and frequent and efficient.

Dubbed “the city that never sleeps”, Bangkok has a reputation that precedes itself and the fact that it continues to be voted “World’s Best City” by international travel press is not without good reason. The focal point of the city’s nightlife and entertainment, the bars, clubs and plethora of restaurants, is in the Sukumvit area, a stones throw from the Phachara Suites.
