Direct eye contact can be as engaging in a picture as it is in real life. When taking a picture of someone, hold the camera at the person’s eye level to unleash the power of those magnetic gazes and mesmerizing smiles. For children, that means stooping to their level. And your subject need not always stare at the camera. All by itself that eye level angle will create a personal and inviting feeling that pulls you into the picture.

تقريبا 99% من المصورين المبتدئين يرتكبون هذا الخطأ، وذلك عبر جعل الكادر أو الهدف المراد تصويره في منتصف الصورة تماما!
أنا شخصيا كنت ضمن الـ 99% قبل أن أتعلم أن توسيط الكادر من الأخطاء الشائعة التي تفقد الصورة كثيرا من جماليتها
هناك مجموعة من القواعد المعروفة لتكوين الصورة من أهمها قاعدة التثليث والتي تقضي بتقسيم الصورة إلى ثلاثة أثلاث يتم وضع الكادر في ثلث من تلك الأثلاث
فرضا أنك تود التقاط صورة لمنظر طبيعي على الشاطئ، هذا المنظر يشمل رمال الشاطئ والبحر والسماء، في هذه الحالة حاول أن تقسم المنظر إلى ثلاثة أثلاث، الرمال في الثلث السفلي والبحر في الثلي الذي يليه وأخيرا السماء في الثلث العلوي والأخير، كما يجب عليك ان تنتبه إلى عدم توسيط خط الأفق في الصورة.
التوسيط في مجمله يعتبر خطأ شائعا ولكن هذا لا يمنع من كسر هذه القاعدة في بعض الأحيان  كما هو الحال في التصوير المعماري للحصول على أبعاد  متماثلة أو عند الاقتراب أكثر في تصوير الماكرو.. وحده المصور هو من يحدد متى ولماذا يكسر هذه القاعدة
