This new beast from lined up from HP packs quite a punch. The latest in the HP Workstations series will now be equipped with the incredibly sought after Six-Core AMD Opteron 2400 processors, which will undoubtedly satisfy any need an engineer or 3D artists might have, not to mention gamers. It’s built in such a way that it guarantees it won’t freeze when subjected to over multi tasking or to high resource comsuming applications, simply because it has a shit load of resources to spare. How so? The HP xw9400 Workstation is able to hold up to a pair of Six-Core AMD Opteron processors, giving you a grand total of a dozen cores!

Add that to the introduction of AMD HyperTransport 3.0 technology (HT3), which increases interconnect rates from 2 gigatransfers per second (GT/s) up to a maximum 4.8 GT/s, while you can further augment its performance by throwing in, if budget permits, the ATI FirePro V7750 3-D workstation graphics accelerator, and you’ve got one KILLER desktop. Price tag? Hmmm, a bit spicy at around $1,899 upwards.

Apparently a pricing error at Dell website in Taiwan, advertising Dell 19″ displays at NT$500 (roughly ~15$), instead of its real value which is ten times bigger, caused quite the predicament for the famous tech corporation. In just 8 hours 26,000 orders (out of 140,000 monitors) were made, and it seems Dell can’t cancel them, unless they’re prepared to deal with legal issues with the Taiwanese authorities.

“If Dell fails to respond to this directive properly and concretely, then the [Taiwan government] will consider seeking legal alternatives”

Ouch! Simple math shows that 26,000 orders times 135$, which is the net loss they’ll suffer, adds up to around $3,5 million. That’s quite something for typo, huh?
Ohhh, aren’t these little buggers cute? Now what at first glimpse might look like little, multi-coloured (they come in white, blue, yellow, green, pink and black) panda bear key chains USB sticks, are actually, at a closer inspection, cute panda bear USB sticks … with a skull (the zombie eyes and preminent chin gives them away). Yes, pretty fun, quite badass one might add, but considering the fact that these products from Solid Alliance are very limited in storage, 2GB to be more exact, at a 41$ price tag, it doesn’t really sound like a bargain.
A ‘bit’ more heavy than your regular game pad, CTA’s new bowling ball for the Wii console will definitely put a meaning to the ‘moving you’ catch phrase - moving you under the living room table, since a little bump from this little baby could cause quite the contusion. The ball can open up in half and gobble up the regular Wii controler (what’s the use, we don’t know yet), afterwards making up what’s the perfect weapon instrument for home entertainment.

No idea on how much this baby weighs, but it’s simple scale looks threatening enough. There’s really been a long history of totally worthless Nintendo Wii peripherals, so it’s gonna be interesting to see if this piece of crap seemingly worthless device from CTA Digital will actually serve a purpose, apart from blowing up TV displays that is.
Last week, we saw Sanyo unveil their latest to of the edge projector in Japan, the impressive PLC-WXU700 or LP-WX700, as it’s know in the country where the sun rises, however, U.S. users can now rejoice as the product will also be available here. If you’re a bit unfamiliar with it, know that the PLC-WXU700 is the first projector in the world to support 802.11n WiF, definitely handy for streaming, like conference calls, skype, youtube etc. Besides this revolutionary feature, expect standard WGXA resolution, along with a decent 3,800 lumens, a 500:1 contrast ratio, all the basic inputs, a USB port, and a LAN port if you happen to run out of wireless.

Price tag? A very disappointing $2,995 - definitely not very accessible. The PLC-WXU700 will be out next month.

We all want to visit foreign countries and experience the different cultures, foods and customs that they have to offer but sometimes the language barrier becomes quite noticeable, especially if we’re talking about countries like China or Japan. Of course, there is a slight possibility that some people will understand English (like in hotels), but what can you do if you have to shop for something in a small store and don’t want to study the language beforehand? Simple, you buy a gadget that does the talking for you!

The Travel Translator has a dictionary of 8000 common phrases in 12 languages, which is more than adequate for a tourist’s needs. All the phrases are organised into eight categories for easy access. The display will show you the phrase being said along with it’s translation so that you don’t accidentaly choose something else. At 40 brittish pounds, the Travel Translator is a worthy investment for your travels.

When I was a kid I used to play with a lot of cars, especially toy trucks. That’s why I was excited when I saw the Big Rig USB flash drive. It has the form of a big truck and you need to flip the cab in order to get to the plug to load the “merchandise” on the truck. If you have a company, you’ll be gld to know that you can put your own logo on them. Pretty neat.

Why does everyone call that clickable device we all use to point at different things on the desktop etc a mouse? Give people a REAL reason to (literally) call it a mouse! At least this is what some guy thought when he stuffed a mouse and then inserted a mouse in the poor thing’s carcass. It’s a bit on the eerie side, but supposing that the mouse’s signal passes through the mouse, I wonder how you are going to use it, . Click it’s ears for left click and right click? I wouldn’t want to find out though.

Drivers tend to push their cars to the limit in order to get faster to their destinations, especially if they have powerful cars and accidents may take place. Or there is the possibility of getting caught by the numerous speed cameras and getting a ticket. This alone could be a reason enough to take a look at the RoadPilot microGo GPS Speed Camera Warning System. It is the smallest “plug and go” system which has a database of known speed camera spots and also where accidents tend to happen. When a speed camera is in your vicinity the RoadPilot will warn you visually and by sound about it while informing you how far you are from it. And if the road is clear, the permitted speed and current driving speed are displayed.
This little gadget will cost you $75 but it will be money well spent.

Sensitive documents have to be transported occasionaly by USB flash drive from different places and there is the risk of losing them with the drive, not to mention what could happen if the competition might get their hands on the information. Fujitsu designed a USB flash drive prototype that could possibly make you less worrisome in such a scenario because of the automatic file deletion after a set period of, let’s say 24 hours, or if inserted into an unknown computer. An additional security feature is that the files from the drive can only be stored on a predetermined server, greatly reducing information leaks.
