Former Teamates and good friends Higgie and Tyler December of 2008

“We are very fortunate and proud to have these classy, dedicated, hard working professionals such as Tyler, Daron and Billy on board with us”. They all fit our mold 100% in terms of terrific role models for our clients and Pros alike. Daron, Billy and Tyler's dedication to year round sport, and graciously assisting others achieve their dreams is unparalleled, “you just don't find guys like these three out there these days” says Higgie.

Tyler, is one of the fastest sprinters in the world, earning his biggest career win against Mark Cavendish in the third stage of Tirreno-Adriatico. Tyler communicated with me after the stage and here's what he had to say to Higgie and everyone at Z1ss.com:

"Finally kicked off that big win I've been chasing! My form has been very good lately and everything came together for me today. My team did a fantastic job putting me into position and luckily I had the legs to close the deal! Hopefully this is the first of many this season!"

Tyler we wish you well and look forward to more wins this season. Stay tuned for video and tips from Tyler in the very near future.
Tyler winning Tirreno Adriatico coming around Mark Cavendish, arguably labeled the "fastest bike racer in the world"

Ed Farrar is a dedicated father and husband, successful surgeon, lover of the outdoors, sports enthusiast and admired for his talents, humility and generosity. Ed and his wife Cindy, who reside in Wenatchee, have two boys, Fletcher and Tyler. Over the years the boys pursued muliple outdoor sports as well as bike racing, all supported by their parents. Fletcher, the younger of the two, is now attending University in WA. Tyler continues to race his bike and is ripping it up in Europe as one of the fastest cyclists on the planet. Ed and Cindy actively support local Wenatchee races and have welcomed many cyclists from afar, opening their home and offering banquet-like meals to their guests. I have been the recipient of their generosity many times and recall images of up to 15 racers scattered throughout their home with sleeping mats and gear littering the floors.

The family was dealt a set of horrific circumstances when Ed was struck head on by a car while riding his bike to work (the hospital). Ed should not have survived the crash; he suffered 16 broken ribs, nine broken vertebrae in his neck and back and crushing injuries to his chest. Paralyzed from the midchest down and on a ventilator to breath, he was kept in a drug-induced state as doctors and nurses worked to keep him alive through recurring pneumonia and fevers. The fact that Ed survived this terrible accident is a testament to his fighting spirit and commitment to health and fitness. At this time Ed has made major advancements in his recovery. Recently he was transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle to begin two months of rehabilitation therapy and to learn to live life in a wheelchair.

I am humbled once again, even during the most difficult times, by the resiliency and strength of the human spirit. I also reflect on the nonsensical twists and turns of our lives and am reminded of the importance of making the most of what we have at this moment in our lives.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Ed and his loving family for his speedy recovery.

Higgie
