Originally built in 1398, Sungnyemun is located nearby Namdaemun Market.

Sungnyemun is one of the main gates in Seoul during the Joseon Dynasty. The location of the Sungnyemun is at the southern part of Seoul. It is commonly known as Namdaemun which means "Great South Gate".

The construction of Sungnyemun was completed during the 7th year of King Taejo's reign. Sungnyemun is a three stories high castle. The ground level of the Sungnyemun was built of stone and the other two levels were built of wood.

Unfortunately, Sungnyemun was burnt down on February 10, 2008. I will write more in depth about Sangnyemun in the next blog post.

Even though Lunar New Year is one more week away, this yearly festival celebration in The Historical City of Malacca is ready to kick off.

Jonker Walk was known as Jonker Street before it became a tourist hotspot. Since Jonker Walk turned into a tourist attraction, it's packed with tons of global visitors every week.

When talking about Chinese New Year celebration, I must relate it to Wang Xiaoer who was a poor man in the old time. Although I am as poor as Wang Xiaoer, I am not exempted from celebrating Chinese New Year.

As Chinese New Year is just a few days away, I have to shop all the New Year stuffs. When ever go for New Year shopping, I am vastly discontent with the severe inflation. Someone's cattle live in upscale condominiums and drive luxurious cars, while taxpayers find it so difficult to possess simple houses for shelter.

My New Year wish is expecting a "clean government" would be formed in Malaysia after the coming 13th general election.

There are more than ten tourist information centers around Seoul, the capital city of South Korea.

This tourist information booth is located in Namdaemun Market. The booth is about 50 meters away from Exit 5 of Hoehyeon Subway Station, 49 Namchangdong Junggu. The opening hour is from 09:00 to 18:00. The phone number is 02-7521913.

The staffs on duty are mostly girls and ladies. They are friendly and beautiful as well. Beyond that they speak pretty good English. So, there is no problem to communicate with them. Feel free to approach them in case you need any aid.

That is the price for tourist. My son is able to bargain in Korean with the vendor, so he can get the item at lower price.

The Hangul on the mini tank truck revealed the man in the photo was an employee of a petrol company. He was delivering petrol to his customers in Namdaemun Market.

It's pretty amusing to see this mini tank truck moving around in Namdaemun Market. After Google searching, I realise that the petrol is used for heating the portable heater.

This apparel stall offers various types of winter clothing for customers to chose. As shown in the photo, there are masks, gloves, scarves, winter hats, winter clothes and a lot more on display.

UMW Toyota Motor sent me this greeting massage because I am a customer of this automobile company. I bought a gold Toyota Vios 1.5G in 2005. After a few days of purchasing my Toyota Vios, I flew to South Korea to visit my son who is in Seoul. That's why I can remember the date of purchase pretty clear.

From the ribbon she wore, I knew she was a preacher. She was preaching to the Namdaemun Market visitors by using a microphone.

This is a street in Seoul Namdaemun Market in South Korea. The texts of the shop signs mostly are Korean Hangul.

The Korean woman with red flannel cap is a coffee cart vendor. The text of the white board is 커피 which means coffee. If I am not mistaken, the price of a small cup of coffee is around 2000 to 3000 Won.

Besides selling coffee for visitors of Namdaemun Market, that coffee cart vendor also offers currency exchange. As far as I know, USD is accepted by shop dealers and street vendors in Seoul.

After visiting Seoul 63 Wax Museum, my wife and I went to food court for lunch.

We ordered a stone pot bibimbap which cost 6500 Won. The ingredients of the bibimbap were rice, egg, meat, sesames, vegetable, seaweed, carrot slices and bean sprouts.

Side dishes provided were cabbage kimchi, bean sprout soup and salted black beans. I had written a blog post on bibimbap. Feel free to read the article for more information regarding South Korean delicacy.

The Problematic Malacca River Monorail Halts Again

The Malacca river monorail service suspended again. The latest breakdown was on November 27.

The RM15.9 million monorail line started operating on October 20 last year. Since the launching of the monorail, the service had encountered 22 interruptions.

Two British tourists were stuck when the monorail stranded on November 1. The monorail was up running on November 25 but it stopped two days later. 20 Hong Kong tourists were trapped during the last disruption.

The problematic monorail is truly embarrassing. Malacca is a World Heritage City, the BN Malacca government should take effective measure to stop this mockery.

Malaysia is truly an outrageous country. Air force jet flies without engine. Naval submarine can't dive. Government raises cattle in luxury apartment. I am not joking because these are proven mockeries in Malaysia. If you don't believe, feel free to do Google search.

This is a photo of the submarine which can't dive. The name of this submarine is Agosta 70. Actually Agosta 70 is a submarine which was provided by French Navy to train Royal Malaysian Navy. The venue of the training was at French Naval Base in Brest of northwestern France.

Malacca government intends to turn Klebang reclaimed land into a Marine Theme Park. Based on the Malacca Chief Minister Department program, the submarine will be converted into a submarine museum. Without doing any homework, Malacca government announced the opening of submarine for public to visit. The Chief Minister of Malacca Mohd Ali Rostam was the first visitor of the submarine. The visit ended up with Mohd Ali Rostam inhaled poison gas and nearly died.

It's obvious that Malacca government didn't do any survey regarding the situation of the submarine. In order to ensure the safety of the visitors, it needs to make doors and windows on the body of the submarine so that the submarine will be fully ventilated. The work will be completed with one year. Those who are interested of visiting the submarine have to wait for a few months.

There are countless interesting stories in Malaysia. These incidents are just tip of the iceberg.
