Muar Street Festival

During early December last year, I drove my wife to Muar to attend a wedding dinner.

While waiting for my wife, I went around the town to explore Muar street food.

It happened that Muar Street Festival was kicked off at that time. It's truly lucky to experience the joyful of this street festival.

Hopefully the organizing committee keep up to preserve the wide range of art and culture of Muar, Town of Queen.

Twist Egg Machine

I accompanied my wife to buy some cooking ingredients at Malacca Sentral Market.

On the way back, we dropped by dim sum restaurant to savor dim sum.

There were a few twist egg machines in a grocery shop near the dim sum restaurant.

In the information age, almost everybody possesses cutting-edge electronic products. That's why it's truly surprise to see the twist egg machine.

Malaysia currency depreciated madly and caused price hike terribly in 2017.

An urgent economic reform is needed in order to enhance the living condition of Malaysians.

I accompanied my wife to enjoy the breezy evening at the courtyard after dinner.

In the bright moonlight, tasting a pot of fragrant "tieguanyin" and had a pleasant chat with my wife.

Christmas Celebration In Portuguese Settlement

This is another post with video clip that about Christmas celebration. The first and second video clips for previous posts were recorded in Perth, Australia. This video clip was taken in Portuguese Settlement.

Perhaps you think that Portuguese Settlement is in Portugal but actually it's not. For your information, Portuguese Settlement is in historical city of Malacca, Malaysia.

Portuguese Settlement formerly was a fishing village but has turned into a quite populated residential area. Most of the residents here are descendants of Portuguese. They celebrate Christmas every year by decorating their houses with beautiful light.

The Malacca State Tourism Authority promotes this settlement to be a tourist attraction. The Lisbon Hotel was built here recently to provide accommodation for tourists. There is a square here with pubs, restaurants and souvenir shops. There will be performance of Portugal folk dances during week end to entertain visitors from all over the world.

Sapporo Autumn Festival

We dropped by Sapporo Autumn Festival venue during our September Hokkaido trip.

Sapporo Autumn Festival kicked off from 9th September and ended on 30th September at Odori Park.

Odori Park is located in Sapporo city center. It's around 5 minutes walk from the hotel which we stayed in Sapporo.

The food of this poster is Japanese wagyu beef. The wagyu beef is Hokkaido specialty and as renown as Kobe beef.

This plate of sizzling wagyu beef was our first meal in Sapporo.

We proceeded to barbecue seafood stall to buy big tasty scallops after enjoying wagyu beef, .

Besides big scallops, we also swallowed a large delicious oyster each.

After savoring oysters, scallops and wagyu beef, we tasted another bowl of Hokkaido dandan noodles.

My wife was holding an orange. The orange was big but not juicy. Perhaps the peel of the orange was too thick.

The Sapporo TV Tower is the magnificent landmark of Sapporo. We got up to the tower to view the beautiful night scene the night before we returned to Malacca.

Some Sapporo residents stopped and listened to Hokkaido New Party Daichi leaders giving speech at a corner of Odori Park.

Malacca Sentral Market

Accompany my wife to Malacca Sentral Market to buy some foodstuffs once a month.

Malacca Sentral Market is located near Malacca Sentral Bus Terminal along AMJ.

The Malacca Sentral Market building will be demolished due to its structural defects.

The traders were forced to do business under the tent at the car park. The patrons were not only facing problem of parking their vehicles but also had to endure the heat of the hot sun.

The Tun Fatimah Road temporary market has started operating since 1st of November. The vendors and customers now can enjoy the comfort of the new environment and no longer worry about rain or hot weather.

The temporary market is cleaner and more spacious. However the parking area is not broad enough. Hopefully the state government will expropriate more land to extend the car park. Otherwise the car park will be packed like sardines during week ends and festive seasons.

Sparkling Wine Chocolate

Snack for today's tea time is sparkling white chocolate.

During Sapporo trip in September, we bought some chocolate in Shiroi Koibito (White Lover).

We purchased two types of sparkling wine chocolate. This is one of the sparkling wine chocolate.

Keep the sparkling wine chocolate in your mouth and let it dissolves slowly. You will hear vaguely the bubble sound of the wine.

When The Banana Is Ripe

Since moved to Malacca, I plant some vegetable and fruit plants behind my house during leisure time.

A banana plant had borne a bunch of banana after growing for more than two years.

The cause of this outcome perhaps is due to not fertile of the soil at my house back yard.

Life would be truly boring if you have nothing to do for years. That's why I plant vegetable and fruit trees after retirement.

It's totally unexpected that I am venturing in agriculture after retired as an education professional.

Be a teacher for decades, my daily work was preparing teaching material and check out students' work.

Previously, I was busy with carrying out teaching and learning duty. Now, I am bustle dealing with growing vegetable. Daily life before and after retreating from workplace is truly different.

Life is short, so try to make it sweet and happy.

Hokkaido New Chitose Airport

During Sapporo trip, we entered Hokkaido by New Chitose Airport.

From KLIA 2, we boarded an AirAsia flight to New Chitose Airport.

Arrived at New Chitose Airport, we snapped some photos before heading to Sapporo by JR Train.

The above graphic is the route table of Hokkaido JR Train. The traveling time from New Chitose Airport to Sapporo by JR Express Train is about 30 minutes.

Getting to Sapporo by airport bus from New Chitose Airport is another option.

The first bus is at 5:26 am and the last bus is at 6:21 pm. It takes around 90 minutes traveling by bus from Sapporo to New Chitose Airport.

Where Are You From?

We returned from Japan in early October. Our destination for this trip was Sapporo of Hokkaido.

During our previous trip to Honshu, Kansai, nobody asked us where we came from. But the situation was totally different when we were in Sapporo.

Perhaps Sapporo residents are more friendly then those from Kansai region. When we answered that we are from Malaysia, their reactions were invariably weird.

May be the unusual respond of the Japanese is either because of 1MDB scandal or three uncivilized Malaysians had defecated in the shower of a homestay apartment in Osaka, Japan.

Malacca Nutp New Office

My wife and I went to Malacca Nutp Office during December 2016.

Although we had retired for years but we both are Nutp life member.

This selfie photo was taken at Nutp new office. The old office is at level three of a building in Melaka Raya.

The new office is at ground floor of a building in Durian Daun. Now, the Nutp members no need to climb up to third floor.

Whether you are already retired or still in service, you should be a member of Nutp in order to protect yourself.

Solidarity among teachers is a must to fight for the rights of teachers, respectively.

I went to cinema with my wife last month.

At first we wanted to see "Wonder Woman" but the show time is 6 pm and no concession tickets for seniors.

After discussing with my wife, we decided to see "Mummy" which Tom Cruise starred in.

We visited London in May. It's happened that London was one of the shooting locations of "Mummy".

When we were in the cinema enjoying the movie, it's just like visiting London again.

Dine At Sushi Zanmai Restaurant

We dined at Sushi Zanmai Restaurant two weeks ago.

Sushi Zanmai Restaurant is located in The Shore Hotel building in Malacca.

I ordered a bowl of beef with rice as shown above.

My wife preferred to savor chicken with rice.

We shared a green tea flavor ice cream after enjoying the meal. The ice cream reminded me of our Osaka-Kyoto trip last year.

We often have uninvited visitors.

A chameleon strolled gracefully on the grass during a sunny afternoon.

Since we moved in our new house, all kinds of visitors keeps on dropping by to punch card. Besides chameleon, there are cats, dogs, birds, frogs, toads, moths, snakes, iguanas, ladybugs, butterflies, garden snails and many many more.

London Terror Attack

Based on BBC News, 4 people were killed, including a police and the attacker in a terror attack in Westminster. Besides that more than 40 others were injured in the Westminster incident.

The terror attack occurred on 22nd 2:40 pm (Malaysia time is 22nd 9:40 pm). The attacker hit the pedestrians by car at Westminster Bridge. Then he killed a police with a knife inside the gate of Palace of Westminster.

Tuesday morning, my wife went to Malacca Pantai Hospital for eyes inspection.

While waiting for my wife, I dropped by Hong Kong Dim Sum Restaurant to enjoy dim sum.

Located at Bukit Beruang, Hong Kong Dim Sum Restaurant serves delicious dim sum. As an unemployed old man, the price of the dim sum is considered expensive to me.

Barcelona Overturned Paris St-Germain

Spain La Liga Team Barcelona achieved the impossible mission of England Premier League Team Arsenal in Europe Champions League round of 16.

Barcelona was beaten 0--4 by French League 1 Paris Saint-Germain during the away match at Paris Princes Park Stadium. They hoped to win Paris Paris Saint-Germain by great margin during the second leg match in Camp Nou home ground.

It's really incredible. Barcelona didn't upset the faithful Barca supporters. With superb performance by the players, Barcelona penetrated Paris Saint-Germain's goal six times. Luckily, with the aggregate of 6--5, Barcelona eliminated Paris Saint-Germain from Europe Champions League last 16.

England Premier League Team Arsenal was defeated by German Bundesliga Team Bayern Munich at Emirates Stadium.

Europe Champions League round of 16, Arsenal lost to Bayern Munich (1--5) during the away match. The Gunners hoped to overturn Bayern Munich in the home match at Emirates Stadium.

However, Arsene Wenger was frustrated because his team was unable to topple Bayern Munich in the second leg match at home ground.

Arsenal lineup played like soft legs craps and humiliated by Bayern Munich (1--5) again. The embarrassing result was really disappointed the Gunners fans.

Hotmail Service Outage Resolved

I was redirected to an unknown website when I clicked on the Hotmail bookmark this morning.

My computer security system alerted me not to proceed because it’s risky to do so.

I did a Google search and knew that worldwide Hotmail users have the same problem. So I signed in from the Microsoft Outlook link.

Luckily I have installed an internet Security System. Otherwise my Hotmail account had been hacked.

Rooster New Year Highlights

We enjoyed steamboat dinner during Lunar New Year's Eve.

Although the food was not abundant, the steamboat dinner was very extraordinary because it was a meaningful family reunion.

These were the red packets given by my children. The amount of the money is not important as long as they have the good intention.

We savored pizza which was bake by our daughter in law during second day morning of Lunar New Year.

I went out to do something during the fourth day of Lunar New Year. On the way, I was so shocked when saw a ghost in a Kenari car.

On the fifth day of Lunar New Year, we saw our son off to Singapore at Malacca bus terminal.

Before returning home, we dropped by Sushi Zanmai Restaurant.

Do you know what food is this?

We ordered natto as appetizers. Korean and Japanese are fond of eating the nutritious natto.

After taking lunch, we wefied in front Sushi Zanmai Restaurant.

Located in The Shore Hotel building, the food and the service provided by Sushi Zanmai Restaurant are good.

No news broadcasting during Lunar New Year. My wife missed the handsome broadcasters.

Our children have started to work. It's again my wife and I tasting the cookies for the afternoon tea time.

Leading The Simple Life

This book "Simple Life" is kept in the bookshelf for more than 20 years. During early November, I managed to read this book while I was at Malacca Toyota Service Center to replace the airbags of my car.

Have a few bookcases of books as reading is my hobby. Intend to enjoy reading these books after retiring from teaching profession. My wish couldn't be fulfilled because I had addicted to Facebook. This proved that planning is often not commensurate with the outcome.

With everybody can fly and information can be obtained by using a computer or smart phone, many people want to enjoy a high quality of life.

Based on the opinion of the author, high quality of life is covering lifestyle. Don't ever show off luxury and not to complicate simple matters. Do not follow the trend but emphasize on the uniqueness. Live happily and try to escape from the killing daily routine.

Replace Toyota Airbags

On 30 September, I went to Malacca Toyota Service Center to change the airbags. Located at Krubong, Toyota Service Center is not far away from my residence, it's around 30 minutes drive.

While waiting for the work in progress, I wanted to access the internet but the internet speed at Toyota Service Center was as slow as snail. Had to read a book I brought along to the Service Center.

After waiting for 2 hours and 30 minutes, Toyota Service Center technician finally finished replacing my car's airbags.
