Barefoot

Another lunch at Barefoot, nothing exciting, the ambiance is perhaps better than the food. It is a convenient place to eat when you have a doctor's appointment at Cedar's Sinai and a good place for conversation, not too loud. Upstairs they have a lovely, sun-filled room for private luncheons.

I met my sis, Julie, for lunch there last week. The service is consistently pretty good and I've never had to wait for a table, even without a reso. The weather was perfect for dining al fresco, which we did.

I started with the Beef Carpaccio: A mustard dressing liberally topped a pile of baby arugula. Hidden underneath were some slices of raw beef sliced paper thin. I would have preferred a few more slices. Luckily, I also ordered the cold, Steamed Artichoke. It came with a tomato salsa and some mustard dressing. The artichoke was a little too overcooked, but edible.

Julie won the award for lunch selection. She had the Seared Ahi Tuna over an Asian salad. The thick slices of tuna were served over a pile of greens. A satisfying choice for lunch. Perhaps next time I'll order it.
