This one can be a bit tough to swallow but when you finally get it the results are liberating…
Us anxiety disorder sufferers tend to “blame shift”…
Who me? You ask???
To some degree we all do it and to the degree we blame others… to the same degree we hold ourselves captive from a life of freedom and tranquility.
In your mind who or what is responsible for your misery?
… the US recession or inflation?
… your ex-husband… wife… girlfriend… teacher… friend… boss… employee?
… global warming?
… the war in Iraq?
… earthquake in China?
… the bully in Grade 3?
… David Cook getting voted off American Idol next week?
Chances are whatever or whoever you believe is responsible for your anxiety and stress they aren’t rushing over to make things right?
Whether someone or something legitimately did you a serious wrong you are the only one who can respond to the situation in a manner that will allow you to walk free of anger, bitterness, fear and anxiety and to grow stronger and more mature as a result.
Regardless of what has happened to you in the past or what you are afraid will happen in the future no one but yourself can think the thoughts… make the plans… choose the actions… carry out the choices necessary for you to live a life of joy, excitement and freedom.
Regardless of where you are or where you have been you have the power to get where you want to be…
One glorious day some time ago I had the revelation… it’s nobody’s fault but mine…
How freeing… how liberating… how empowering.
Because I am willing to take responsibility for my past I have the power to create and mold my future…

If only it were as simple as just waking up one day and being free. Responsibility for yourself is an absolutely necessary part of becoming free, but old habits (especially thought habits) can be exceptionally difficult to break. I’m so glad you’ve found the solution for yourself.
Wishing you continuing freedom from fear!
Namaste,
Lina

There is help for what is often a frightening experience — that of anxiety and panic attacks. Not everyone understands why it is happening to them but I am glad you have found your freedom.
