Three decades after producing the New York Dolls’ seminal 1973 debut, Todd Rundgren will be back behind the boards for the band’s next album. The as-yet-untitled set is due next year on Warner Bros.’ revived Atco imprint.
Work will begin in January at Rundgren’s studio in Kauai. The new album follows the Dolls’ 2006 comeback for Roadrunner, “One Day It Will Please Us To Remember Even This.”
The Dolls have a handful of dates on tap next month, beginning Dec. 3 in Madrid. The group will also play a Dec. 27 show at New York’s Irving Plaza.
As for Rundgren, he will begin a tour Dec. 17 in Alexandria, Va., in support of his latest studio album, “Arena.”
