VP Debate

This debate was entertaining...due to Sarah Palin. I thought she rocked the house, she certainly rocked me again, and that's coming from someone who actually got to shake her hand one day :)

I say she won the debate hands down. Her reality, her charisma, her plain talk is what our country is so hungry for. Her inexperience did show a bit, but the fact that she's aware of it and not afraid of it made that a non-event. Her comfort with taking Joe Biden on head on was a compliment to her strength and the fact that her gender matters not. She's ready for the task at hand in a man's world.

I thought Joe Biden tried too hard to not go after her as I think he really wanted to. However, if you thought Palin shined against his reserved behaviour, I think if he'd have taken it to a different level, Biden would have seen yet another advanced side of Palin...she can take it.

I was touched with Biden's emotion when mentioning his child. It was real, and as a parent so understood and our hearts were with him in that moment. I think it was appropriate that Palin didn't comment, console, or anything. She was right on to let the man have that moment and he deserved it.

I don't see reality at all when I listen to or see Obama or Biden with my eyes or ears. Possibly if I could just hear them I might see more reality, but looking at them...I see none from either when it comes to leadership. I can see human in Biden at least...I disagree with just about everything he says, but I do see his human side...Obama on the other hand...I just see a practiced orator, a robot, a fancy plastic android created from within. I don't think "someone" groomed Obama...I think he groomed himself, he will do anything and everything to win...and if he should win...all those of you who poured out your hearts and souls to make it happen will be yesterday's news.

I'll be the first to admit that when Obama first came on the scene...he had me from hello. I've even written stories on this blog about the possibility that I would possibly lean his way...at first... Well...then I began to listen...his great speeches...his mountain top experience effect on folks...it was moving. UNTIL...I began to realize that with all his orating...he wasn't saying anything. Barrack Hussein Obama's oral turned into anal. So...I suppose that I too could be categorized in that "I was for it until I was against it" group, I was just so happy to see someone a little younger that could actually make a speech!

I try to give them all a chance I guess...good thing Conservatisim is something that will just prevail over pretty paper wrapping and fancy bows every time. If Bush would have been a better orator, he'd have a better approval rating. He did a real fair job the first four years. He ran into hard times the last four and instead of having a Congress that backed him and tried to bring him up...they spent all their time winning their elections and bashing him to bring him down. They succeeded. They brought our President, our Country, and your well being and livlihoods to its knees, and all the while lined their own pockets, cost you billions, and thought you'd never notice.

I see Sarah Palin as a TRUE charasmatic persona. Her charisma comes from the heart not the playbook. I see the same passion in my current Congressman Dean Heller. The thing that makes me sad for both...is that Washington and more experience there might turn them. I pray not, I hope not, and for now I see in both that they are 100% believable and pure to date. I hope that if at which time either of them see the road impossible to walk or the goal impossible to attain because of too many that just won't concede or try to make them concede their principles...that either of them would be willing to walk away rather than to someday compromise their principle.

Tonight...my beef with Biden is this...STOP TALKING ABOUT THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION! Like Bush, hate Bush, whatever Bush...he's got 3 months left period. Let it go! You don't see us (Conservatives) carrying on and on about how Obama/Biden will just be more Clinton, Carter, or Johnson. Just because John McCain voted mostly on the side of Bush...so do the Democrats vote mostly on the side of their party. The fact that ANY MEMBER OF THE HOUSE OR SENATE ACTUALLY VOTED FOR THIS LATEST ECONOMIC BILL defies all logic and makes them all hypocrites! At least Palin has NEVER voted for ANYTHING in Washington. The Vice President has no voice there...but she's the only CLEAN candidate in this election! Let it go Obama campaign...More of the same is bullshit. With two different people whichever their party...it can't be more of the same...on some level it's different no matter what!

AND speaking on that tone...I left my mind open when the Democrats took over majority rule in Congress. I'm always going to hope that my side wins, but I'm willing to give any new majority a chance to prove themselves before I bash them. I have NOTHING good to say about our current Congressional majority leaders...NOTHING! Since the time they took over...THEY'VE DONE NOTHING! NOTHING IN TWO YEARS! It's quite frankly embarrassing that when they PROMISED so MUCH...they've done NOTHING but bicker with Republicans since they took over. Pelosi and Reid should be lynched and kicked out of the White House with the same fervor a big bouncer should throw an unruly bar patron into the street. They are both a disgrace to the word leadership!

Here's my BIG BEEF with BOTH candidates tonight. I saw SO MANY "open doors" within the conversation for either one of them to walk through...and neither had the cajones to walk through the little door. It bothered me. As they carried on and on about who voted for what and how many times one or the other's principal candidate voted which way...NEITHER CANDIDATE HAD THE BALLS TO SAY THE REAL REASON WHY!

I've been privy this year to actually be in the room with my Congressman on several occasions when many topics were discussed. Some will drill him about why he did NOT vote on particular bills that meant so much to his constituents. He will agree...those bills meant a LOT to him too...BUT AND HEAR ME HERE...it's the OTHER crap that's put in bills that have nothing to do with the bill's main issue...but just other crap...that is SO BAD he could NOT in good conscience vote for it on behalf of US...WE THE PEOPLE of Nevada. I respect that.

AND I've learned...the bigger heart strings that are pulled by a particular bill...the MORE crap they insert into it. If it's a bill likely to fail anyway because it was lame from the get go...hardly ANY crap is inserted. THAT'S EVIL...THAT'S WRONG... A bill should deal with only the issue at hand. NO BILL need be 450 pages long. There's nothing wrong with voting on 450 bills a few pages long and solving 450 problems...that would take no time at all! But ONE BILL 450 pages long should raise a red flag to EVERY AMERICAN and it's NOT NECESSARY and I could not believe that neither candidate said a word about PORK! They were both coached very well I suppose to hush up and what the people don't know won't hurt 'em!

I think personally it's a shame I didn't know who Sarah Palin was before she became VP candidate. I think she'd make the best #1 and I was a Romney/Thompson supporter and I think today after my research on her over the last weeks...if I'd have known who she was before...I'd have put her before either one of those men and I never was a great proponent of a woman in the top spot necessarily. I guess it's like the bachelor who's asked why he didn't marry...the right woman hasn't come along yet. We have the right woman in Sarah Palin I think.

800 Billion Dollars Later - You Got The Shaft - Unless You Manufacture Wooden Arrows

So you think the 800 Billion dollar "rescue" bill was good? So ya think it would have been financial armegeddon if the Senate didn't pass the bill? Well...I reckon' those lucky manufacturers of wooden arrows might agree.

This is but a mere smidgin' of the vital importance of this bill. So glad these guys got it all ironed out! MORONS! No wonder Nancy Pelosi turns out the lights and bans the cameras from time to time. If the average middle class American making $30-$50,000 dollars per year were to be in the room with these lawmakers when they are actually sitting around having serious discussion on how to word the legistature...THERE WOULD BE A CONGRESSIONAL MASSACRE!

We are the REAL MORONS HOWEVER...we actually VOTE FOR these idiots and put them in this place. Following: A Section of the 800 Billion Dollar Rescue Bill...read it and weep!

20 SEC. 503. EXEMPTION FROM EXCISE TAX FOR CERTAIN WOODEN ARROWS DESIGNED FOR USE BY CHILDREN.
(a) IN GENERAL.—Paragraph (2) of section 4161(b) is amended by redesignating subparagraph (B) as sub301
O:\AYO\AYO08C32.xml S.L.C. paragraph (C) and by inserting after subparagraph (A) the following new subparagraph:
‘‘(B) EXEMPTION FOR CERTAIN WOODEN ARROW SHAFTS.—Subparagraph (A) shall not apply to any shaft consisting of all natural wood with no laminations or artificial means of enhancing the spine of such shaft (whether sold separately or incorporated as part of a finished or unfinished product) of a type used in the manufacture of any arrow which after its assembly—
‘‘(i) measures 5⁄16 of an inch or less in diameter, and ‘‘(ii) is not suitable for use with a bow described in paragraph (1)(A).’’.
(b) EFFECTIVE DATE.—The amendments made by this section shall apply to shafts first sold after the date of enactment of this Act.

Aunty Belle - My Hero - Our Economy Status

I had an entire gaming career before I became a business owner in the Reno area. I'm from Texas and grew up dirt poor on a cotton farm in rural West Texas even before that. I "get" the South, hell I am the South in my soul.

I really thought I was the South until I moved to Mississippi to Bay St. Louis and spent four wondrous years there before coming back to Nevada where I'd lived in between Texas and the Deep South. My Dad lived in Louisiana before that while in the Oil industry, so moving to Mississippi when I did wasn't my first introduction to the REAL SOUTH.

I've been a blogger now going on three years. Aunty Belle was one of the first blogs I discovered when I was a "rookie". I was amazed at her style. She is from the South for more years than any of us will probably ever have the honor to be. She is an amazingly proficient writer, but writes her blogs from the language and spelling of those REALLY FROM the South.

Aunty Belle is the perfect woman...don't most of us women think we are? She truly is in her writing. She can take a woman's point of view, and a man's point of view and mix them perfectly said in the language those who live where she lives (or those who ever have) and make it make REAL SENSE. I only hope I might have the honor to meet her some day if they ever land in Reno and buy her and Uncle a great dinner and tip my hat :) Since Aunty Belle is busy writing, Uncle is quietly waiting for her on the water with her Mint Julip mixed and ready...after he got home from the Pork Rind plant :)

As to how this crisis is going with the bailout and all...we can all write it how we want... BUT, picture yourself back in the time of Mark Twain and "Huckleberry Finn, Tom Sawyer, The Prince & The Pauper, Life on the Mississippi, or Roughing It"...and you will find language even more fitting today's time than you might think :) For my women readers...have yourself a Mint Julip on the front porch (the Back Porch is nice too), and just sigh and speak...That's Nice :)

Senate Passes Rescue / Bailout Bill

I'm so pissed right now I can't see straight, but I'll make it short, sweet, and to the point so that common everyday middle class folks like the ones Obama wants to save can understand it! Your Senate just passed a bill NOT at $700 BILLION, but at $850 BILLION with incentives included. Including a nice tax break for a "little company" that makes wooden arrows for children's toys. I don't get why THAT small business (or large more likely) got a break instead of ALL businesses...but here's my redneck lame joke that brings it all into TRUE PERSPECTIVE!

During a visit to the mental asylum, a visitor asked the Director of the Asylum, "How do you determine whether or not a patient should be instutionalized?"

"Well", said the Director, "We fill up a bathtub. We then offer a teaspoon, a tea cup, and a bucket to the patient and ask them to choose their implement of choice in which to empty the bathtub."

"Oh, I get it.", said the visitor. "The normal person will choose the bucket because it is bigger than the teaspoon or the tea cup."

"NO!!", said the Director. "The NORMAL PERSON would pull the plug!" "Would you like a bed near the window?"

That's what it has come to folks...Republican or Democrat...ANYBODY THAT VOTED FOR THIS BILL needs a bed somewhere in an asylum!

Gwen Ifill to Host VP Debate

I don't know about you...but I have to call a HUGE BULLSHIT on this one. You see, I grasp the concept of THREE (of many) VITAL THINGS that can allow our nation to operate on a friendly basis... (1) Non-Partisan/Bi-Partisan, (2) Sensible & GOOD for the MAJORITY of Americans, (3) CONFLICT OF INTEREST!

You don't even have to be able to pass junior high to NOT KNOW when something is a huge conflict of interest, therefore invading the premise of what's good for everybody or FAIR. The choosing of Gwen Ifill for the moderator of tomorrow's VP debate was a BAD CHOICE. She has a book, "Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama" due to be released on inauguration day! I suppose her favorable comments of Obama in the book would be to the normal guy enough to raise a flag; but it's more the release date of her book that matters to me. If Obama loses the election, her book gets very little notice...if Obama WINS...she stands to MAKE MILLIONS! Conflict of interest people, and it's blatently obvious.

I think what I think, it's a free country. I also run businesses...I KNOW that I serve a vast public, all of which do not agree with me. Aside from some yard signs or bumper stickers on my bulletin board if you enter my inner sanctum the office...I will FOREVER treat ALL MY CUSTOMERS the same way. All clients will receive the best we can give them on any given day. Business has nothing to do with politics when it comes to our advertising. Politics may enter into WHERE I decide to spend my advertising dollars, (you spend your ad dollars where you get the most value back...DUH). So I spend my ad dollars where I find I get results...it just so happens that I get the best results in good places... Mostly I advertise on local TV stations, and during times that are totally bi-partisan. I advertise on radio stations that play music...music is universal...nobody cares the political position of someone listening to great music. However, I have to say also for the record...from ALL MY ADVERTISING...the place I get the GREATEST RESULTS dollar for dollar is KKOH AM radio in Reno...a conservative talk show station. GO FIGURE THAT! The MOST bang for my advertising buck is returned by conservative talk radio on a still existing AM station! Just goes to show ya!

Emerson, AT&T, and Wachovia are the sponsors for tomorrow's debate...among others I'm sure. There is no time or availability to prove these sources because the debate hasn't happened. But, from sources I trusted...I got these contacts. I'm going on a limb to post them here to hope that you will act too...after all...IT'S TOMORROW...

I will say this for the record. Based on THIS STORY Ifill seems like she can handle both her book and the debate professionaly. I get that opinion quite normally on my own, but also due to this fair and balanced video

I also believe that people are quite capable of multi-tasking. I ask myself if she would have published a book that's Pro-McCain...would I believe the same? Yes I would. My beef is NOT WITH GWEN IFILL...it's with the people that CHOSE HER AS MODERATOR. It is THEIR hidden agenda that's wrong...and...Ifill herself should have chosen another day to shine. A simple recusal KNOWING that she had this book was coming out...should have been enough. If she had a book coming out titled ""Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of McCain", she should have also recused herself...but beyond that...

NO PERSON WITH A BOOK COMING OUT ON INAUGURATION DAY TITLED "Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of McCain" would have been chosen as moderator :)

Wednesday Hero - SSgt. Renee A. Deville

44 years old from Webster New York
401st Civil Affairs Battalion
September 1, 2008

SSGT Renee A. Deville was an Army Reservist who deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom with the 401st Civil Affairs Battalion from Webster, N.Y. She arrived at Walter Reed August 10, 2006, after being injured in a mortar attack.

While at Walter Reed, Deville was assigned to Chosen Battery, Warrior Transition Brigade, and was among three graduates of the Army's first Basic Noncommissioned Officers Course Stand Alone Common Core offered to Warriors in Transition.

Deville, who successfully completed every aspect of the course from a wheelchair, was lauded by SGT Major of the Army Kenneth O. Preston as exemplifying the Army's 'Warrior Ethos', at the graduation ceremony for the course on March 28, 2008.

Deville was also the impetus for a new playground being built behind the Mologne House at Walter Reed in 2007.

An October 2007 Washington Post article about the opening of the playground says that SSGT Deville's mention of her children's limited recreational options to Col. Bruce Haselden, the garrison commander, helped set in motion the playground project.

Staff Sgt. Renee Antoinette Deville died September 1, 2008 in her room at the Mologne House at Walter Reed. She was 44.

She is survived by her husband and 4 children, her mother, a brother, and two sisters.

SSGT Deville was laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery on September 19, 2008.

These brave men and women sacrifice so much in their lives so that others may enjoy the freedoms we get to enjoy everyday. For that, I am proud to call them Hero.
We Should Not Only Mourn These Men And Women Who Died, We Should Also Thank God That Such People Lived

Reno/Sparks Republican Women Support Palin

Chicks & Guns: A LOT OF US CAN SHOOT :)

As a fun spoof and to show our support of Gov. Sarah Palin, the 2nd Amendment, and the general concept that women love Guns/God/& Country just as much as the men do, we are compiling a photo essay of local women & their guns. Unfortunately, though most of us CAN SHOOT...I don't think a one of us can field dress a moose. Palin's still got us there :)

One of my employees was gracious enough to let me use a family heirloom for my photo. Somehow my 380 pistol just didn't fit the bill :) And, since my little dog Scooter is a good Republican too...he had to get in the photo as well :) This is a Tennessee long rifle type gun that probably served the country in it's day. Go McCain Palin & God Bless the USA, our traditions, and our rights!

This week’s Thematic Photographic is angles. I have too many computers between work and home and laptop…but my original post was going to be some photos that I took at Taliesin West, the foundation creation of Frank Lloyd Wright, but my photos can’t even compare to others…Wright was the King of Angles.

So instead…I post my photo with NO ANGLES…but a MENTAL ANGLE.

Just when you think there is no angle in which to find the light at the end of the tunnel…there is always the “above” angle. When you can’t see light…look up…there’s always some light there :)

Bail Out Bill - My Two Cents Worth - Compared to $700 BILLION

I’m certainly NOT a math teacher, but I’d like to compare TWO CENTS to 700 BILLION and RED FLAGS, may I?

Here’s my take on the “Bail-Out Bill” and its fortunate demise today. Mine will be only the 4 Billionth opinion written in the blogosphere, so if we were all paid $1 (a great raise over our $.02 cents worth), we could have solved the world’s problem for 175^th the actual cost of the $700 BILLION “plan”…so folks, it’s my pleasure…skip the donate button tonight, I don’t need your dollar or your two cents :) But…just for an actual reference…keep in mind that if we ALL DID get our two cents due us… (and there were 4 Billion bloggers), that would be 80 MILLION DOLLARS…you just imagine what 80 MILLION dollars could do, and if only all bloggers got two cents…that we donated to a WORTHY CAUSE…we’d be able to spend 80 MILLION on something GOOD. Points of reference…need ‘em today…they’re IMPORTANT!

RED FLAGS…didn’t your Mamma ever teach you the concept of a RED FLAG? Or perhaps “Something Fishy in Denmark”…ever heard that one? “If it’s TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, it probably IS”…at least the dumbest of us all knows that one? This bill STANK from high heaven from the get go. You gotta’ understand Capitalism. It means if you make something cool…it costs you $1.50 to make it…you hope that you can sell it for $2.00 at least, maybe $10, and certainly NOT FOR TWO CENTS! The basics start there.

If you make a lot of crappy stuff at the cost of $1.50 and CANNOT SELL IT…and I laugh at you and TELL YOU that your widget is crappy and NOBODY will buy it…and MILLIONS (not even to billion yet) of other people TELL YOU…why would you continue to produce said crappy widget at the cost of $1.50 that is only sellable at $.02? YOU WOULDN’T! YOU COULDN’T! At the simple rate of sale of $.02 over the cost of $1.50…you would ONLY BE ABLE TO PRODUCE 75 (SEVENTY FIVE) crappy widgets before YOU WERE OUT OF MONEY! If I’m your best friend…and you come to me and say, “Hey friend…could you front me a bail-out? I’ve only got 75 widgets and I need to sell 50,000 of my crappy widgets for $.02 cents to make my $1000 house payment! Can I borrow money from you? Will you just GIVE me some? I’m only at 75 widgets and I need 50,000 EVERY MONTH!” You’d tell your own best friend to blow you!

Also…If you were in a club that had 100 members and 51 members HAD to VOTE your way to get that give-out or bail-out loan from your friends…and YOU KNEW THAT 55 OF YOUR CLUB MEMBERS thought exactly like you…WHY WOULD YOU GO TO THE 45 of your enemies to have the money you NEEDED SO DESPERATELY TO SURVIVE? YOU WOULDN’T! YOU WOULDN’T EVEN NEED TO!

If your crappy widgets cost $1.50 to make and you could only sell it for your two cents worth of eloquence or public speaking ability, it would cost your friend $75,000 to loan you enough money to make your $1000 house payment! Are you getting me here?

What if your friend went to the enemies of the club house and told them that “Trust me…when my widgets become really popular (like crappy widgets ever take an up-surge), MY WIDGETS WILL BE WORTH $3.00…NOT $.02 CENTS? WON’T THAT BE GRAND FOR YOU! For your mere $75,000 investment that will profit you ONLY $1000 TODAY…THAT BY THE WAY YOU LET ME HAVE FOR MY HOUSE PAYMENT EVERY MONTH UNTIL THE WIDGETS BECOME POPULAR…TOMORROW…(more like NEVER), you could “potentially” stand to see a profit of $75,000! YOU DOUBLED YOUR MONEY :) “Aren’t I A GOOD FRIEND to give you that opportunity?

RED FLAG FOLKS…BIG RED FLAG! We have the Democrats who COULD PUSH THIS VOTE THROUGH THE CLUB HOUSE without even having to speak to an “enemy”, and they WON’T DO IT! THEY DIDN’T DO IT, AND THEY CAN’T DO IT…BUT WE KNOW THEY WILL DO IT!

Because, while your friend in the clubhouse is screwing you up your rear…while having access to your wallet in your back pocket while he has your hands bound behind your back (and “he” tied your hands by merely mentioning the threat of doom and gloom…the Armageddon of Finance…the worst thing since the Great Depression)…the NEED for bi-partisan agreement…he ROBBED YOU. He robbed your kids, your grandkids, your Mamma and your Daddy…who already plan trips to the grocery store based on when they’ll have to fill up the car with gas at $4.00 per gallon…just a mere $1.00 more than your brilliant widget will be worth whenever the heck it becomes valuable. “He” already ROBBED YOU ONCE BEFORE…but you never noticed when you bought those widgets in the first place…and yes we ALL BOUGHT THEM! We didn’t stop them when they were creating bad finance, but now all of a sudden we must BAIL THEM OUT of bad finance? It’s a double edged sword. You’ve already paid for it once (it was secret and hidden in interest rates, fees, whossits, and whatevers…but you paid for it already), and NOW…you get to pay for it AGAIN!

OH!WAIT…I saved some “cheer for you” to attempt to swallow. Government brings a “whole new meaning to swallow” for those that get that… Your friend/enemy…remember him from the clubhouse? He is SO HAPPY that EVENTUALLY YOU’LL MAKE $75,000 on his crappy widgets that he convinces YOU…the SMART INVESTOR…RIGHT? He convinces YOU that you should take some of your profit and give it to OTHER GUYS with CRAPPY WIDGETS because Their Widgets Too are only selling for $.02 cents when they should AT LEAST be getting $1 One Dollar for them…like ACORN…they do so much for us all! They were HAPPY to see their tenants LEAVE when we let the “little people” buy houses in crack districts. They weren’t paying rent anyway…good riddance. So…for the privilege of letting low income, no rent paying, no mortgage paying derelicts becoming home owners in the burbs…OUR BRILLIANT GOVERNMENT decided to take part of your NOT REAL $75,000 you made off your friend/enemy in the clubhouse and give it BACK TO THEM so they could “improve” the torn down trashed out dumps they want to rent again to MORE FUTURE MEMBERS of the club house that think two cents isn’t much! The cycle continues…AND YOU CONTINUE TO VOTE FOR THEM!

You are a main-stay and friend of every minimum waged citizen of Nevada and you remain a mainstay for those of us fortunate enough to make a little more :) It’s my PLEASURE AND HONOR to give you my vote in November!
