Fall is just around the corner which means it is time to break out the fall wardrobe. Or is it? Here are some tips to hold onto some of your favorite summer staples just a little bit longer.
Jackets: Keep your tank tops and summer blouses around and throw on a tailored blazer. The men’s wear look is totally hot for this fall and a tailored jacket gives you a nice waistline even if you haven’t seen yours in a few years. If your blazer lacks shape, try it with a skinny belt to give yourself some definition.
Opaque Tights:

Tights are everywhere this fall and in bold colors. Black is really hot but so are jewel tones like purples, blues and magentas. They also give the added benefit of being quite slimming. Put them on under those full skirts you wore this summer. Just remember with a bold tight, you want to keep the rest of your outfit on the simple side. Let your tights do the talking.
Chunky Knit Cardigan: They aren’t just for grandma anymore. These layer really well over summer shirts and then will bring you right into winter. You want to pair these with a slimmer pant to offset the bulk of the sweater. Again, for more definition you can always add a belt. Belts are everywhere this fall and give you a nice waistline.
Scarves:

Scarves don’t need to be kept outside in the cold. Now scarves are a hot accessory that can be worn a lot of different ways. A smaller silk scarf can be worn ascot style or tie in back and let it drape down in the front. The longer knit scarves can be worn wrapped around your neck as many times as you like with the ends hanging down. These have been spotted on numerous Hollywood celebrities and are a really affordable way to make you look very fashionable.
So don’t put away those summer favorites quite yet. They still have a few months life left in them. And you still have an excuse to go fall shopping for a few trendy items to round out your wardrobe. It’s a win-win.
