Vegetarian Protein Meat Substitute - Friday, May 16, 2008 2:34 PM
An excellent product here, that can be used in a wide number of ways - I've made rosemary encrusted pseudo-pork tenderloin, for example . . . pseudo-chicken fajitas are tasty!

I wish we could get some be all and end all scientific study to give us the low down on soy.  Rught now it is about 50/50 with the good for you, and the bad for you.  I really like the milk and the meat tends to have a better consistancy, my opinion, than real meat, so eat it if you like it, and don't if you are a meat eater....we are all going to die anyway....so enjoy the ride I guess.

Their website says:"Match™ products contain wheat and soy proteins."

we eat that too - this match stuff is much better, and slightly more cost effective as well!

And, yeh, I sure wish that something definite would come out about the soy issue, it sounds potentially problematic, but, on the other hand, it also sounds a little alarmist too.  I'll err on the side of moderation - include it in my diet, but not make it the central focus!

on the hormones/estrogen, etc., I try to drink organic milk, to avoid all of the additives there.
