Reduce firefox memory usage

Most, if not all, Firefox users know that our favorite browser is a memory hog! It consumes a lot of your computer system’s resources.

I’ve been searching for the solution on how to reduce the memory use of firefox. I’ve followed all the modifications in the about:config. It worked.. but not entirely..

Now here’s a gem i found. Its called Firefox Ultimate Optimizer.. and it really is an ultimate optimizer!

I’ve been using this to free up memory being used by firefox since January this year and i’m surprised that i haven’t blogged about it yet.

Oh.. the best part.. Its FREE!

Here’s a look at firefox before using Firefox ultimate optimizer.

Here’s what happened after

I haven’t had any problems in using this great gadget!

Try it!

You can download it from here or here.

  7. the application reduces the RAM usage. The drawback, it swaps the RAM usage to your VM. Thus, it results to more CPU and hard disk activity.

  8. with that drawback, would you still recommend it wins?

  9. as i’ve pointed out above, i haven’t experienced any problems with it..

maybe someone could explain these effects - swapping of ram and VM.
