The Early Vote Up Slightly

The useless partisan hack running the Secretary of State's office has finally posted the November 3 early voting totals, and it looks like the early vote will be up only slightly, but with a few isolated areas of note.

In total, 13.21% early voted as compared to 13.05% in 2002 (the last major non-presidential statewide election).

The early vote is way up in Nueces and Fort Bend Counties but the voters are not too energized in Hidalgo County.

A vote for Bell means we rid ourselves of that SOS hack (5.00 / 2)

Keep in mind that our Secretary of State position is an appointed position. Roger Williams's days are numbered. If you want verified voter paper ballots and an election system you can trust, vote for Chris Bell. Trust us, Roger will get his pink slip day one.

There are a hundreds of good reasons to voter for Bell, but getting rid of Roger Williams as our SOS has to be in the top 20 at least.

I can't wait to see how it all shakes out, especially in Dallas County where I live. I wish I could be more optimistic about Rick Perry getting the boot, I'm hoping for a Bell miracle.

I feel the same way

I'm not that optimistic. But I do think we have a small chance of winning. And as long we we have a chance of winning, we can not afford to not fight like hell to make it happen.

Early Voting & Kerry (5.00 / 1)

Sorry for the formatting, but the first column is the percentage difference in the early vote between this year and 2002, and the second column the percentage of the total vote that Kerry got.

The correlation between the two datasets is -.36. Meaning that Dems (particularly, those in El Paso, Hidalgo, and - yes - Travis Counties) are not turning out in the numbers they need to. Hop to it, folks.

Look at 2002 and 2006 early vote totals.
98,713 voted by mail in 2002 compared to 73,526 in 2006.

While in person totals were 1,001,298 in 2006 and
919,951.

Loving County should try to (0.00 / 0)

hold the honor of "first county to vote in Texas".

Granted, that would also answer the question of how Loving has 67 people in the Census and 156 votes in 2000 and 80 votes in 2004.

That answer is probably very close to the answer for how Karl Rove claims residence in Kerr County, despite not living there.

So, I wonder if the people in the FLDS Temple in Schleicher County is going to show up and vote
