Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) rose 7.13 per cent to close at Rs 779.20 after posting a consolidated net profit of Rs 1,291 crore for Q1 FY09, up 4 per cent quarter-on-quarter (qoq) and 7 per cent over the same period last year.
The revenues for the period stood at Rs 6,411 crore, up 24 per cent compared with Q1 FY08, and 6 per cent qoq. The earnings per share stood at Rs 13.19.
The company added 35 new clients during the period. The counter witnessed trading volumes of 7,14,840 shares, about thrice its two-week average.
