CLEVELAND -- Some students just need a break, others want to travel or volunteer.
Meg O'Halloran just graduated from Shaker Heights High School, but she will go back to high school this fall. Not Shaker, but the Cleveland School of the Arts.
"I want real life experience," says Meg. She will be volunteering at the Cleveland school in the theater department. She will help with improvisational theater.
Meg has already been accepted to college, but has a deferred enrollment. She will work at the school and then go on a mission trip to Tanzania next summer. She believes after these experiences she will be more focused and ready for college.
Gap years are becoming more of a trend in the United States recently, but in England and Australia about 10 percent of students take a year off college.
