A couple of things

1) You are THE WORST group of people to ask on a whether or not to get a puppy! (I mean that in the nicest way possible.) It was almost exactly split, with half of you being in the mindset "You're already fucked anyway. Just add one more thing that craps in your kitchen and will destroy your house." The other half was like "Wait. You'll run into traffic. Your rope will disintegrate as you fruitlessly try and hold onto your fraying fibers of sanity." I do appreciate all of your input, and it did help us make a decision.

2) We've decided to wait on a puppy until next spring. I just have puppy fever. Everywhere I go outside - to the park, to the playground - there are new cute squishy little puppies. This feeling of needing one RIGHTNOW is hopefully fleeting. And I DO miss having a dog. Terribly. But, we decided that it is much easier to regret not getting a dog, than to regret having one. Right? Plus, I'd love to really get into training with this new dog to maybe be a therapy dog (we've selected a breeder that has bred for temperament and many of their dogs are agility or therapy dogs, in senior centers and hospitals) as that's something I've always wanted to add to my volunteer repertoire. And it will be much easier when the baby is settled and into a routine and we can attend the training sessions.

3) My kid has the weirdest fashion sense. But a killer ability to accesorize and match:

Photobucket
(princess skirt as dress, highlighted by butterfly choker)

Photobucket
(nightgown and matching snowboots)

Think we have new trends?

I didnt comment, but am on the "wait till after the baby" side of the spectrum. Though, I'll admit, I will NOT do pets and small children in the same house.

She is CUTE!!! Liv had that kind of fashion sense too!

Good decision!! I am SO having you make my next big decision as I, clearly, don't know how.

LOVE the princess dress/skirt. She and Morgan would rock the runways!!

Well the nightgown and snowboots is already very close to what I am seing young tramps oops I mean girls wearing already (miniskirts and snowboots) as for the skirt as a dress she is on to something! The tube top dresses are coming back again! LOL! Just wait till she's older and trying to convince you that a belt is a skirt and a scarf is a shirt!! LOL!

I love the toddler look. My son, who is 3, just loves to wear the following: winter hat knitted by my SIL, gloves, Power Puff girl roller sneakers WITH Sponge Bob laces and any clothes that I put on him. THEN, he plays hockey in my kitchen. It's the silliest/weirdest/freakiest outfit ever. :) Will post a picture one of these days.
Glad you're waiting on the puppy. I would do the same. With the twins at 15 months old, I'm still not ready for that added responsibility. I barely remember to feed the cat (and hence, made it my 7 year old's chore this week)!

In that first pic, she looks like she should be on an ep of the Flinstones.

Your daughter will surely have her own line someday. If you keep encouraging it early she might even pay for college by herself before she even gets there :)

I think you've made a good choice! Afterall, shortly, you're going to have a new pup around the house, just the human kind not canine!
Very responsible thinking to say it is better to regret not getting one than to regret having one! Good for you.

You know I tried to comment like four times & it never let me in? Your site hates me. I was gonna say do it, but asked about your allergies..and mentioned thinking hypoallergenic.

What snow boots? She's saying, "Mommy, get me Uggs. They go with everything." And, that gal's got style. Accessories make or break an outfit.

We went through the whole puppy thing this time last year. We were prego and really wanting to get a puppy and so we did. We did because we didn't want to get a puppy when we had a child that would be learning to crawl and walk with a puppy making messes on the floor. Also we didn't want to have a puppy get use to use and grow up with our baby too.

It worked out really good. Cause he was potty trained by the time she came and was being put on the floor, also he was still considered a puppy when she joined us she our baby wasn't moving in on his territory, because he wasn't like that yet. Oh I am sooo jelouse....getting a puppy is sooo fun!

I'm pretty sure I've seen a lot of the teenage girls around here wearing Ugg boots and dresses, so clearly Charlotte is a precocious fashionista.

Charlotte is totally going to be on Project Runway one day. And she's gonna win!
