I salute the noble objectives of the Commission on Human Rights (CHR). In my country, I know of commissioners in the CHR who are impartial and stand by their principles and integrity. They deserve the highest commendation for it is due them.

(Romans 13:7) Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.

To be impartial and equitable in the disposition of a case while someone is surrounded by threats and influence peddlers, more so, if these influence peddlers are holding high positions in government is not a very easy task to do.

A person who does not steal can not out rightly be tagged as honest and not a thief. An honest person (and not a thief) is someone who does not steal even when there is a chance to do so. A person who stands in the principles of justice even under pressure is a just person.

I know that this has been the situation of those who handled my petition in the CHR-NCR who decided in favor of me against a government official whom they found out to have violated my human rights. For this and their effort I pray that they may be rewarded by the Almighty.

To give honor and praises to whom they are not due is the highest of folly that a man may commit.

(Proverbs 24:24) He who says to the wicked, ” You are innocent, ” will be cursed by peoples, abhorred by nations… RSV

(Proverbs 15:5) To respect the person of the wicked is not good, Nor to turn aside the righteous in judgment. ASV

But my appreciation is coupled with pity and sympathy to these people of integrity and courage in serving true justice.

The Commission on Human Rights in my country can not prosecute those they have found to be guilty of violating human rights. The process is for them to recommend the filling of a case against an erring official to the Ombudsman. An Ombudsman, although, regarded as an independent official is appointed by the President. If the office of the Ombudsman will dismiss the petition of a complainant, the toils of the CHR are almost wasted. If the person complained of is appointed by the President; and the Ombudsman is also appointed of the President, can you guess what will happen to the complainant?

Experience is a good teacher; but the Lord of the Bible is the best!

(Job 9:24) The earth is given into the hand of the wicked: he covereth the faces of the judges thereof; if not, where, and who is he?

Many countries of the world are plagued with corruption and injustice. Corruption can not emanate from ordinary citizens. They come from corrupt officials and leaders.

(Micah 3:11) Her leaders pronounce judgment for a bribe, Her priests instruct for a price And her prophets divine for money Yet they lean on the LORD saying, “Is not the LORD in our midst? Calamity will not come upon us.” NASB

But the true faces of corrupt leaders are hidden from the people because of their earthly wisdom and intelligence.

(Ecclesiastes 8:1) Who is like the wise man? And who knows the interpretation of a thing? A man’s wisdom makes his face shine, and the hardness of his countenance is changed. RSV

But no amount of make-up, wisdom, or hypocrisy can hide the true being of corrupt leaders from someone who knows the wisdom of God in the Bible. Mounting evidences will be easily discerned by the able guidance of the best teacher!

(Proverbs 29:2) When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.

Unrest and discontent are symptoms of a prevailing culture of corruption in any government.

(Proverbs 29:2) When the righteous are increased, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man beareth rule, the people sigh. ASV

Sighs and mourning of people will definitely determine the cause of the illness in society.

Although in the religious sector, I have been in media for the last three decades. I have mingled with the best and known personalities in media. I have been a guest in almost all kind of television and radio programs. It was not until now, very recently, that I have known that media men covering some ‘political developments’ were tied like pigs by authorities. I am lucky I was not there. In my opinion, this is another violation of human rights, especially of press people, but I can not advice them to file a case with the Commission on Human Rights because they might experience my good teacher. It certainly will not be a pleasant experience. Our only hope for true justice is in the judgment seat of God.

(Ecclesiastes 12:14) For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

Somebody told me, that somebody (maybe a false apostle) who commented “…pinakawalan na sila, hindi sila pinaylan…” (“… they were freed and were not charged”); I heard what he said, “I sympathize with you. I pity you if you do not feel pity for yourself because what you have said must not be said by a person of an expected caliber that others presume you have.” To this I say, “No comment.”

But the Bible has this to say:

(Jude 1:10) But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.

To our people in media, next time don’t be too close in covering any event, your braveness might bring you to jail. It is good if you would be like Enoch.

(Hebrews 11:5) Enoch walked with God. Then he couldn’t be found, because God took him from this life. NIRV

Evil is evil when done evilly. Justice is injustice if rendered impertinently. The Bible tells us that where justice is, there is also evil.

(Ecclesiastes 3:16) Moreover I saw under the sun that in the place of justice, even there was wickedness, and in the place of righteousness, even there was wickedness.

This does not apply to everywhere in the universe. The verse tells us it is “under the sun” or on earth. Of course, this is not the case in heaven where God reigns. It is one of the intentions in the prayers taught by the Lord Jesus Christ to His apostles “Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven”.

(Matthew 6:9-13) After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

If only God’s will will be done in the entire earth as it is in heaven, the earth will surely be a very nice place to live in.

There are places on earth which can be considered hostile to live in, physically and spiritually: Physically, because they are plagued with crime and moral decadence; and spiritually because of governmental and religious corruptions.

I am a sexagenarian and had lived with awareness in almost every aspect of human life for half a century. In my native country, about four decades ago, you can walk on the main thoroughfares of any metropolitan area with confidence and feeling of safety. Of course, there are isolated cases of misdeeds, especially among drunken standbys, but they are almost negligible. Just run as fast as you can, when, by chance, they want to make you a plaything of their drunkenness, and you are saved! I experienced this incident once in my forty years of roaming around Metro Manila streets, even in the wee hours of the morning.

Now, as I look around me, I see my people fighting and killing one another. I see them raping our own women; butchering our own children; and destroying our own homes. What possible power could have deprived them of this decency that they will now violate the sanctity of Filipino women? What possible power could have twisted the hearts and minds of our people that they will now fight and kill each other? In sheer desperation, I tried to find answers from the Holy Scriptures and these are what they have to say:

(Proverbs 29:2) When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when the wicked rule, the people groan.

The Hebrew word translated “groan” is:

אנח

‘ânach

aw-nakh’

A primitive root; to sigh: - groan, mourn, sigh.

This is the Biblical reason why people of my country, even those who had left in search for greener pasture groan and sigh.

But what makes wicked rulers?

Partiality and bad influences!

(Exodus 23: And you shall take no bribe, for a bribe blinds the officials, and subverts the cause of those who are in the right. RSV

(Deuteronomy 16:9) You shall not pervert justice; you shall not show partiality; and you shall not take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and subverts the cause of the righteous.

But what can influence a ruler to show partiality and subverts the cause of the righteous? They are religious leaders and influence peddlers.

In our country religious leaders use their flocks to influence the power-hungry politicians. In blatant defiance of our constitution, religious leaders dictate whom to vote upon their members in threat of being excommunicated if they disobey.

(2 Peter 2:1-3) But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you…

These religious leaders exploit their members as their ‘merchandise’ and ‘medium of exchange’ to crooked officials to gain favor and respect. Biblically, religious leaders are agents of hell and satan who are the most venomous makers of evil people.

(Matthew 23:15) Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.

Religious leaders are the most influential corruptors of people in government. It is highly logical because even these political leaders have their religious leaders too.

No less than the Catholic Bishop Conference of the Philippines has observed this.

Further, the role of the church was instrumental in the failure of

the opposition’s attempt to take the battle from the courtroom to

the streets…

Nothing is more evil than doing evil in utter awareness that what you are doing is evil with an evil intent!

(Jude 1:15) to execute judgment on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.” NKJV

But where can there be more evil?

In the minds and in the hearts of leaders: political or religious.

(Jeremiah 17:9-10) The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

And what is the root of these evils that plagues the minds and hearts of ungodly leaders?

Money and power!

(1 Timothy 6:10) For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil: which some reaching after have been led astray from the faith, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

To stay in power, Herod ordered the butchering of children upon learning the birth of the King of the Jews.

(Matthew 2:1-2, 7-8, 16) Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him…

…Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, inquired of them diligently what time the star appeared. And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also…

…Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently inquired of the wise men.

To stay in power, somebody hungry of power may go to the extent of murdering people.

Recently, I received a response from Sam Jordison asking why our supposed debate have not been organized. The response goes like this:

“Why did you chaps never manage to organize that debate in the end? I’m still very keen. In the meantime, I thought you might like to know that my new book has been released…”

The talk of a debate against Jordison started when a reader of mine asked me what can I say about an article by (Jordison) calling the Bible as a “readable mess”. I, in turn, answered with an article. Jordison’s first comment on that article was:

“…I’m not sure if I’ll be coming back here as I’m finding the experience a bit - uh- unsettling, but do feel free to post on my blog again… I’m sure we can have an interesting discussion.”

Although he said this, Jordison did came back and visited my blog — this time to promote his book.

“…Hey, listen, I wrote a book you chaps might find interesting:
The Joy Of Sects. You should be able to pick up a copy from amazon.co.uk…”

After that, I made a follow-up article also dedicated to Sam Jordison. Surprisingly, he (Jordison) took his time out to visit and post a comment (again) on my “unsettling” blog. The comment goes like this:

“Hello again,

This article is very interesting too…

…I’ve been getting some comments on my blog about running a debate with Bro Eli and I’d be happy to accept… as long as “logistics” all work out and co… The moderator of this blog is welcome to email me so we can arrange details…”

This was when I learned that brothers in faith actually posted a challenge on his website for him to have a debate against me. I have learned that brethren from London tried to arrange everything for the said debate to transpire.

I would like to make this clear to my readers that I am, with God’s help, always willing and ready to any discussion or debate wherein I will have an opportunity to prove the existence and the magnificence of the Almighty God that I have been serving all my life. This fact is known to every brother and sister in faith in the Church of God, International.

Since the planned debate was provoked few months ago, brothers in faith have been working for the realization of such event, but much to my dismay, an email was forwarded to me by a brother in London which came from Mr. Jordison himself asking for payment and expenses that he will encounter. It is explained by the email hereunder:

“…Have you found a suitable time and date (about the debate)?

…I’d also like to discuss payment, travel expenses and co if possible… Much better to get these things down in email so there’s no confusion than on the phone… What are your terms/ budget etc. I can’t imagine that the whole event is going to be anything less than personally humiliating from my point of view so I’d like some compensation…”

In my four decades of preaching the Gospel, with God’s help, I never asked for a fee from anybody. To this, my witnesses are innumerable.

(2 Corinthians 11:7) Have I committed an offense in abasing myself that ye might be exalted, because I have preached to you the gospel of God freely?

Abasing* is humbling oneself before God and before fellowmen.

This is a virtue that was not learned by preachers who preached for the sake of money and gain.

(Micah 3:11) The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet will they lean upon the LORD, and say, Is not the LORD among us? None evil can come upon us.

Abasing or humbling oneself is one of the most important admonitions of the Bible.

(James 4:10) Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

(Luke 14:11) For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

This is the best example that was shown when the Lord Jesus Christ took the form of a man.

(Philippians 2:5- Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

A preacher, by not asking for profit, abases himself. This is the first rule Christ gave His apostles when He sent them to preach.

(Matthew 10:7- And as ye go, preach, saying, the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

But there are those pretending to be of God preaching because of money or material gain.

(John 10:12) But he that is a hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.

The hireling fleeth, because he is a hireling, and careth not for the sheep.

The first century Christians did not (in any manner) took anything from none Christians in preaching the word of God.

(3 John 1:7) Because that for his name’s sake they went forth, taking nothing of the Gentiles.

The apostle Paul went to the extent of working with his hands to sustain his needs in preaching the Gospel.

(Acts 20:33-35) I have coveted no man’s silver, or gold, or apparel. Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me. I have showed you all things, how that so laboring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

And these sacrifices for the Gospel’s sake He has done with gladness.

(2 Corinthians 12:15) And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I be loved.

Look for a preacher now in this dispensation who spends his own earnings to finance the glorious gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will find most of them amassing wealth by perverting the Gospel.

(2 Corinthians 2:17) For we are not, like so many, peddlers of God’s word; but as men of sincerity, as commissioned by God, in the sight of God we speak in Christ. RSV

And the apparent result is their failing effort to hide their riches and luxuries coming from the very little resources of poor members.

(Jeremiah 5:26-27) For among my people are found wicked men: they lay wait, as he that setteth snares; they set a trap, they catch men. As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit: therefore they are become great, and waxen rich.

It is a great disappointment for me to hear that Sam Jordison, who will futilely disprove the existence of God and expose to people the ‘garbage’ in his mind, is asking for a fee.

(Isaiah 55:2) Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labor for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.

I would rather add my last cents to my contributions for the poor children of the earth than to spend it to somebody like Sam Jordison; as always for the praise and glory of my God!

In every way normal for a person who is an admirer of a person, it is hard not to share your testimony and sentiments toward someone you believe is worth the praise. And that is me for Bro. Eli Soriano. I don’t know but it may be too much already to speak this way or even dull the readers of my true positive feeling toward you Bro. Eli. Before, I dismiss those comments and praise I was reading here about you because there are marks that I believe are testimonies of members from your organization. Now, I believe, I cannot blame them. If it is really worth the praise then there is no way I should object that. In reading some of your most personal sentiments here like this recent article you’ve written, it was so clearly written, vivid and probing. It gives me a whirlwind of thought how you’ve come up with such amazing simple story about a piece of your life, and turn it into some kind of miracle, that touches inside of me. Yes, while writing this comments, tears are streaming down my face. I could not stop it. And I believe, only a person sincere enough could move me to tears like you do.

It is never a sin to praise and honor anybody to whom praises and honor is due.

Even the inspired writers of the Holy Scriptures like the evangelist Luke used terms in praise to erring man.

(Luke 1:1-3) Forasmuch as many have taken in hand to set forth in order a declaration of those things which are most surely believed among us, Even as they delivered them unto us, which from the beginning were eyewitnesses, and ministers of the word; It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write unto thee in order, most excellent Theophilus…

Certainly, Theophilus, as the name denotes, is a Gentile, to whom, by Hebrew standards, does not merit any praise or honor at all, but the evangelist called him “most excellent”. The “most excellent” here certainly does not mean most excellent of all human being, but, maybe among his peers. Respect and honor is due to all men by Christian standards.

(1 Peter 2:17) Honor all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.

In the Old Testament, respect and honor was commanded by God to be given to parents.

(Deuteronomy 5:16) Honor thy father and thy mother, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee; that thy days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with thee, in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

Obviously, this commandment was changed when the apostle Peter wrote to the Hebrews, observer of the Old Testament laws, to “honor all men”, not only parents.

(Hebrew 8:13) In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

(Hebrew 7:12) For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.

I can not see any reason why it will be a sin if members of the Church of God International will honor and respect the person of Brother Eli Soriano.

(Hebrews 13:7) Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.

(Hebrews 13:17) Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

Now, I am obliged by the situation to teach this part of truth in the Christian doctrine! Never in my forty-three years in the ministry did I teach nor encourage anybody to treat me like somebody; for the fact remains until now, (this is my belief and God is my witness) I am nobody.

(Ephesians 3: Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ…

If the great apostle Paul believed that he is less than the least of all saints in his times, I believe that I am less than the least of all saints of all times.

My conscience is guided by the meekness taught by the Lord Jesus.

(Luke 17:10) So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.

If after doing ALL, a servant must confess that he is an unprofitable servant, then after having just started doing what I ought to do, I can say that I am even less than an unprofitable servant. Most of the times, I refused to be called ‘sir’ as other religious leaders love to hear from their members. Sir is an old archaic word which means ‘lord’.

The whole congregation to whom I speak weekly is the witness to this fact.

When I started writing articles for this blog site, letters with praises keep pouring in, whose writers I do not know personally. I do not even know if they are members (or not) of the Church of God, International. I have always wanted to forbid them to neither thank me nor honor me in any manner. I do not feel comfortable being praised or honored by men who look up to me as their leader; but verses in the Scriptures have held my hands to write anything to stop them. For years, I have been practicing to incline my conscience towards the Scriptures.

(Acts 24:16) And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offense toward God, and toward men.

It is God who said that a Christian must honor all men. I am a man, although ‘nobody’, but the least, still is a man. I do not want (nor ever will want) to have a conscience of offense towards God who permits any man to be honored. God is not a God that grabs all honors. He even knows how to honor and respect man.

(Psalms 138:6) Though the LORD be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off.

But after all things have been said and done, it is our duty as erring human who know our own infirmities and shortcomings to give back to God all praises, honor, and glory forever. Amen.

(1 Timothy 6:16) Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honor and power everlasting. Amen.

To my readers, may I advice you once and for all to always thank and honor God for whatever truth or wisdom you may learn in reading the articles of this blog site, after all, this is the conscience of the great “men of faith” from whom I have learned this virtue of regarding myself as nobody!

(Acts 13:14-15) Which when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of, they rent their clothes, and ran in among the people, crying out, and saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein…

It is vanity to honor and deify mortal men!

As I travel to different places of the world, I noticed not only the difference in skin colors, but also, the shape of nose, the shape of the eyes, the height, and the hair of people in four continents of the earth that I have reached.

I am a man of many questions in my mind because I am a keen observer of almost everything that I have been privileged to see. I believe my curiosity is one of the factors that led me to a deeper search of truth that I satisfactorily found in the Bible.

If the entire human race came from one family, why is it possible that there are races that stand taller than others having eyes, noses, and hair very much different from another?

The answer to these questions is very well elucidated both in the Bible and in Science. Biblically, the ordinary human can produce ‘giants’.

(Genesis 6:2-4) That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be a hundred and twenty years. The cross-breeding of the sons of God with the daughters of men produced these giants!

Scientifically, giants or men of extra-ordinary height and size can be caused by what is called pituitary growth hormone excess, also known as “pituitary gigantism”.

The human body is an adaptable organism. It can adapt even to extremes in the environment. This ability to adapt itself to a given environment helps in the ‘shaping’ of his physical body. It can be noted that there are places where natives are noticeably with long protruding noses, while the opposite is very much apparent in other places of the globe.

In the iris, as in the skin, melanin absorbs light, protecting the eye from glare. Thus, dark eyes are generally favored by nature. In Europe, however, almost 50 percent of the population has blue, green, or gray irises, Such people may see further in dim light, but scientists still do not fathom the evolutionary logic of blue eyes – or blond hair, for that matter. The eyes of the Chinese, Japanese, Eskimos, and other people of Mongoloid descent – one third of the world’s population – are protected by epicanthic folds. These folds, composed of fatty tissue, probably evolved among their forebears inhabiting the Arctic in order to insulate the eye against freezing, and to provide an additional shield against glare from snow and ice. Even the human nose adapts to climate.

Inside the nose, a series of wet, mucus-lined air chambers “conditions” inhaled air before it reaches the throat and the delicate air sacs of the lungs, warming it to about 95 degrees Fahrenheit and raising its relative humidity to 95 percent. Humans in cold climates – or in hot, dry ones – thus have the greatest need to condition the air they breathe. Natural selection in such climes generally favors larger noses with more mucus lining: flattened, to protect against frostbite, in frigid environments; long and narrow in arid regions. In a like manner, the size and shape of the human form help the body regulate internal temperature. Over thousands of years, cooler climates tend to produce larger people. The reason: Their extra mass helps them retain heat. Although large people also have more skin surface from which heat can escape, the tradeoff still works to their advantage. As the body grows larger, mass becomes greater relative to skin area. The Alakaluf Indians on the frigid southern tip of South America, for example, are 25 percent taller than the Ituri Pygmies of Central Africa. Yet, the Alakalufs are more than two times heavier – and thus store much more body heat. Variations in body shape complicate the picture. A tall, skinny man has more surface area – and heat loss – than does a shorter, huskier man of the same weight. Thus, cold territories closest to the North and South Poles tend to be populated by stocky folk. In southern Africa, Pygmies, the world’s shortest people, dwell very near the Nilotic tribes (e.g., the Dinka), the tallest. But the Nilotic tribes live in the dry, open savannahs, the Pygmies, in the shaded forests. The Nilotics’ environment puts a premium on having more skin surface to release heat, thus their extremely tall, slender build. And, occasionally, there appear uniquely adapted humans, A notable example: the Khoikhoi women of the open African savannah, who have thin torsos suited to the hot climate, but also protruding buttocks (steatopygia) containing storehouses of fat to draw upon in times of famine. Just as it is difficult to prove a correlation between past climatic change, and, say, the demise of an ancient civilization, so today’s anthropologists are not certain that all their inferences about climate and human evolution are well founded. Very few of the world’s peoples in all their variety now inhabit the same territories where, long ago, their ancestors presumably developed certain characteristics in response to climate. The information that was written in the Bible that the human race came from only one family is very much scientifically true. The scattering abroad of the family of Noah in different places of the habitable earth eventually and gradually produced different physical features among them depending on the kind of environment they settled to live.

God is not the author of confusion, but is a God of order and truth.

To believe in the theory of evolution is to believe in accidents, for the theory of evolution can only be explained by accidents that allegedly happened in nature, and perhaps in the brains and minds of evolutionists!

But would you believe that in order to execute God’s will for people to populate, fill, and subdue the earth, God ‘confused’ the only one language of people living on earth in those times? This is how the story goes.

(Genesis 11:1-8 ) And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech. And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there. And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for mortar. And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men built. And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech. So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.

God’s command to the family of Noah to repopulate or replenish the earth is ecologically sound. People must not only inhabit a particular place and let the other places of the earth be dominated by beasts and wild animals. Humankind, and not beast, must subdue the earth.

(Ezekiel 14:13,15) Son of man, when the land sinneth against me by trespassing grievously, then will I stretch out mine hand upon it, and will break the staff of the bread thereof, and will send famine upon it, and will cut off man and beast from it: If I cause noisome beasts to pass through the land, and they spoil it, so that it be desolate, that no man may pass through because of the beasts…

Because of their apparent resistance on God’s will, God confused their language. That event that happened in the Tower of Babel saw the birth of different nations and languages in the human family. The rest is history.

Because of the confusion that happened, they were forced to scatter to all the habitable face of the earth. A group that does not understand the language or the speech of another group, was forced to depart and separate themselves as a group.

Another question arises: If humankind came from only one family, why the difference in color, physical features, etc.

The Bible tells us the root-cause and not necessarily the results. The results can be obtained in reality. Apparent reality can be traced back to the root-cause.

Mathematically, the more than six billion people that now populate the entire earth came from a much smaller stock in the early 19^th century, about six hundred million, and further, from eight souls that survived the great flood.

(1 Peter 3:20) Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

Is there, by any chance, that a family may grow up to a huge global population of different colors, breeds, cultures, and physical features? The answer is, reality; but how?

The color of the skin is influenced by the environment. In places where there is abundance of scorching sunlight, people’s skin can turn darker.

(Songs of Solomon 1:6) Look not upon me, because I am black, because the sun hath looked upon me: my mother’s children were angry with me; they made me the keeper of the vineyards; but mine own vineyard have I not kept.

It may take a thousand years for the complete blackening of the skin of a particular race. No wonder there are now in reality black people because the human family have existed on earth for many thousands of years.

Jablonski and Chaplin proposed an explanation for the observed variation of untanned human skin with annual UV exposure. By Jablonski and Chaplin’s explanation, there are two competing forces affecting human skin tone:

1. the melanin that produces the darker tones of human skin serves as a light filter to protect against too much UV light getting under the human skin where too much UV causes sunburn and disrupts the synthesis of precursors necessary to make human DNA; versus

2. humans need at least a minimum threshold of UV light to get deep under human skin to produce vitamin D, which is essential for building and maintaining the bones of the human skeleton.

Jablonski and Chaplin note that when human indigenous peoples have migrated, they have carried with them a sufficient gene pool so that within a thousand years, the skin of their descendants living today has turned dark or turned light to adapt to fit the formula given above–with the notable exception of dark-skinned peoples moving north, such as to populate the seacoast of Greenland, to live where they have a year-round supply of food rich in vitamin D, such as fish, so that there was no necessity for their skin to lighten to let enough UV under their skin to synthesize the vitamin D that humans need for healthy bones.

Your guess or presumption about what the Bible says concerning the Jews is correct. The Jews really are influential people because they are the ‘chosen people’ of God.

(Romans 9:4-5) Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises; Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed forever. Amen.

Of all the nations that exist during the time of Moses, the Jews or the Israelites were the only people on earth acknowledge by God as His people.

(Deuteronomy 7:1, 6- When the LORD thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou…

… For thou art a holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth. The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people: But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

Although the fewest and the poorest, the Israelites caused a great trouble and defeat of the most powerful empire in the ancient world — the Egyptian empire, who enslaved them for four hundred years.

(Exodus 12:40-41) Now the sojourning of the children of Israel, who dwelt in Egypt, was four hundred and thirty years. And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty years, even the selfsame day it came to pass, that all the hosts of the LORD went out from the land of Egypt.

The defeat suffered by the Egyptians from the Israelites is suspiciously not recorded in existing manuscripts in the history of their empire. As it is a shame for an empire to be defeated by their slaves, we can safely presume that the authorities of Egypt intentionally did not cause it to be written, as it was well elaborated in the Bible; thank goodness a piece of papyrus called “Ipuwer Papyrus” discovered in the early 19^th century revealed what happened in Egypt during the days of the Israelites.

The papyrus describes violent upheavals in Egypt, starvation, drought, escape of slaves (with the wealth of the Egyptians), and death throughout the land. This papyrus further affirms the authenticity of the records of the history written in the Bible.

God’s favor to the Israelites started from the time of their father — Abraham — to whom God pronounced His promises.

(Genesis 17:5-7) Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee. And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee. And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.

They were exceedingly loved by God because of Abraham.

(Romans 11:2 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers’ sakes.

God dwells in them as a people.

(2 Kings 5:15) And he returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and came, and stood before him: and he said, Behold, now I know that there is no God in all the earth, but in Israel: now therefore, I pray thee, take a blessing of thy servant.

(Psalms 22:3) But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.

But they were not ‘favored’ without conditions. God, in His sense of justice, demands their obedience to His laws and statutes.

(Malachi 4:4) Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments.

If they be willing and obedient, they will enjoy God’s blessings.

(Deuteronomy 28:1-2) And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.

But if they will break the covenant, they will be cursed.

(Deuteronomy 28:15) But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee…

Because of their utter disobedience, God left these people sometime after the death of Moses.

(2 Chronicles 15:3) Now for a long season Israel hath been without the true God, and without a teaching priest, and without law.

Many times, they lost God’s favor, and made captives by neighboring kingdoms like Babylon.

(Matthew 1:17) So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.

During the time of Christ, the Israelites were under the authority of the Roman Empire.

(John 11:4 If we let him thus alone, all men will believe on him: and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation.

The same fate happened to the Israelites time and time again because of their disobedience.

(Jeremiah 32:31-33) For this city hath been to me as a provocation of mine anger and of my fury from the day that they built it even unto this day; that I should remove it from before my face, Because of all the evil of the children of Israel and of the children of Judah, which they have done to provoke me to anger, they, their kings, their princes, their priests, and their prophets, and the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem. And they have turned unto me the back, and not the face: though I taught them, rising up early and teaching them, yet they have not hearkened to receive instruction.

What happened in the Holocaust to the Jews is just a repetition of what had happened to their forefathers many times in the past — and these are all because of their neglect of God and disobedience to the covenant.

The Jews are surely influential people. They have carved their mark in the history of humanity. They have caused blessings to other people and curses as well.

Some Jews are totally separated from God because of their unbelief in Jesus Christ, the begotten Son of God: the Messiah. They did not accept Jesus and His preaching when He was sent by God the Father in the 1^st century of our common era, instead, up to now they are waiting for a messiah.

(John 1:11) He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

They do not acknowledge the authenticity of the New Testament, neither, the books of the New Testament. They believe in the books of the prophets, but they do not accept what the prophet Jeremiah said.

(Jeremiah 31:31-32) Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD…

Their ‘rejection’ of the books of the New Testament or the New Covenant is utterly a rejection of the prophecy of Jeremiah, which they claim to believe.

Really the Jews are influential people both physically ang spiritually. Salvation comes from them.

(John 4:22) Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

They were the first to inherit the promises and salvation.

(Romans 1:16) For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Biblically, their transgressions explain the causes of unrest that besets the people of Israel.

After all things have been said and done about them, the Jews, for me are not inferior people, but a special people.

(Galatians 3:29) And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
