It’s time to pay the piper.

I just spent more than 24 hours at the hospital. As far as I can remember, that’s my first time to be confined in such a sad place. Yes, I find hospitals depressing. They just scream “sickness!” and “death!”, two things I’m not really fond of.
It was just supposed to be a consultation. See, I’ve been experiencing some kind of inflammation on my cheeks every few months or so. I never took the time to have it checked. I guess it was time to find out what’s wrong since it’s really starting to bug me. Turns out there’s a lot of wrong things going on inside my sexy body. I don’t want to enumerate, so let me just say that I’m one unhealthy mofo.
Funny thing is, I don’t feel there’s anything wrong with me. Except, of course, the stupid facial inflammations. This false wellness baffles doctors and nurses whenever they take my blood pressure because it’s astronomically high. They always freak out, but all they do is tell me to monitor it. Until yesterday when the medical staff from a local hospital finally gave me prescriptions to prevent hypertension.
I guess after years of smoking, drinking, unhealthy eating, and little to no exercise, my body is finally giving me signs that I should get my act together and be healthy. I know I don’t feel unhealthy, but I’m not willing to wait for when it’s already too late. After years of enjoying a seemingly healthy hedonistic lifestyle, it’s time to face facts. It’s time to deal with the consequences. It’s time to pay the piper.
One good thing that came out of the past couple of days is the realization that some people who I think are concerned with my well-being actually aren’t. So there’s that. Also, I need a girlfriend.

Dude, seriously, what happened to you? We’re all behind you, you know. In a totally non-gay way.

@Joel: I don’t want to be your soulmate because you have a 3rd nipple!
@Ade: Thanks, brotha. My blood pressure scared the living daylights out of my doctors. I stayed there for a series of tests. Thank God for cute nurses. Also, it was cool to be moved around on a wheelchair by an orderly.

damn dude…
Easy on the grease, nicotine, and alcohol please. It’s not worth meeting your maker early. Or the cute nurses. But that’s an arguable point.
Srsly, take care man.

@Chris: The grease and the alcohol, I can stay away from. It’s going to take some time to get rid of the nicotine, though. But I’m trying.
@April: Sorry. I know you’d worry like a mommy. =p Talk to you soon.
@Pau: Will do once I finish with my initial prescriptions. I have lots of them right now. =(
@Krista: I do exercise, but not enough. Must do more swimming and Wii Sports. Also, I don’t think going to LB is a good idea right now since I can’t go there without getting involved in wacky drinking parties. Heh.
Thanks for the concern and support, guys. Really.

@Coco: LOL sorry ’bout that. img tag currently disabled in comments. Thanks, though.
@Alex: Thanks. Although I don’t think this is because of my age. In fact, my doctor couldn’t say “you’re too young for this kind of shit!” enough.
