Following the recent success of “Borat,” the hit film starring America’s favorite faux Kazakh, it’s tempting to believe that Ukrainian-born musician Eugene Hutz and his roving band of misfits are trying to put one over on us as well. But they’re not. They make up a rare yet real-deal rock outfit called Gogol Bordello and tonight will perform their brand of Gypsy punk music at the 9:30 Club (815 V St. NW). Band members — who hail from Ukraine, Russia and Israel— throw klezmer, flamenco and other disparate styles into their noisy musical stew along with unconventional cabaret-style tunes, eccentric attire and raucous onstage antics. Tickets are $20. For further details, visit www.930.com.
